Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
I'm opening this thread because this woman is getting much more attention during Tokyo Olympic but there's not much places to talk about her outside of Korean board. She's suspected lesbian, but she's deep in the closet.
Alleged exes
1. Nootsara Tomkom (thai setter and ex-club teammate)
2. Lee Dae Yeong (korean setter and ex-club teammate)
She just wrapped up her olympic journey at 4th place and will be moving to Shanghai for her next season.
Rules: no straight talk, no mention of irrelevant men, no trolling

This thread is a good idea i think.
Anyway some tea about this recent spat at the airport with some Press guy. In Korean thread anons said he isn't even from the Press.

Google trans. From that tweet
"This damn interviewer is called Yu Ae-ja game manager. It is said that he even said that he wanted to make Lee Da-young his daughter-in-law in a serious kondae.
There was also an article because of the fucking interview yesterday."

This woman is from Korean Volleyball Association, a new tea from knetz said she used to be close to the twins (one of whom is her alleged ex lee da yeong). Btw she's being bashed quite intensely by korean netizens for her rude questions.Guest wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 10:39This thread is a good idea i think.

KYK maintained her cool but people were angry because they basically grabbed her from hed team and made her stay back to answer stupid questions despite her worsening knee injury.
Now someone from the volleyball association is trying to make her stay for asian games. Which further upset knetz. Basically the volleyball association in korea is shit without KYK.
Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
The Korean volleyball federation will provide around 50k usd for each of them and they also will get something from the sponsor too. The amount of the sponsor at the back is amazing. They have like all big sponsor like North face Oakley,LG, Panasonic, Air Bnb think Kim will more endorsement tooGuest wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 10:39This thread is a good idea i think.

None of her other variety shows "love line" with men ever hold a candle to this. The way she looked at Jessi before she hit her back and how much fun she had riling her up. This woman was up to something that day
Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
I was just about to ask which variety shows and episodes with her are good to watch? I used to watch a lot of kvariety but I don't remember if I've ever seen an episode which had her on. She seems so cool.

Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
I don't think the love is any lesser without a medal. In korean media she's being compared with their baseball team, the main player who is your standard privileged man is being critized for getting the same 4th place as the women volleyball team because of his trashy attitude. Even there's a video that shows the chilly reception in the airport of their baseball team coming back from olympic, which is a contrast the the reception for woman volleyball. The airport was almost empty except for reporters when baseball team came back. KYK was literally mobbed by her fans yesterday despite covid 19. It's her attitude and her perseverance that made the general public head over heels for her.Dff wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 11:30Wow the Korean volleyball team is really popular even the president congrats them. A lot of people won’t and don’t look at this as gay especially in Korea. They look at this as pandering to fans.

Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
to give some context, answering fans questions like this is a rather safe space for homosexuality because nobody takes it seriously in korea. Idols and public figures do this all the time and it's called fan service. But in a way it also showed her willingness to talk about same sex relationship. Because some would be too homophobic to even say yes to this kind of questions.
My guess is she could be lesbian or bi (im leaning towards lesbian based on her interaction with men and women) but will never ever come out explicitly saying that she's gay in a serious context. She's also aggressively selling her straight image in while blatantly flirting with women on national tv. So my guess is she tries to conceal her gayness by saying she's into men but her own actions betrays her

I had a fquick lesson here on lchat in recent months about SK aproach to LGBT community and if there is one thing I learned is that in current climate there is no way a big star (film, music or sport) would come out and be open about it.
Open secrets might exists over there and insiders would maybe know this or that, but never, ever anything official.
The way I understand this: truly private life stays private in SK.

Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
There’s only one real only gay celebrity and it’s Hong Seok-cheon. He came out in 2000 and he was essentially black listed and ended up becoming a huge restaurant owner. He’s literally the sassy kind of funny gay guy on variety shows. The only other on is Holland and he’s not famous at all. There’s been plenty of news sites that have threatened to out gay/lesbian couples but the companies end up dealing with it and paying them to be quiet. If you watch videos of ex idols or ex trainees they’ll tell you that there’s lots of gay idols, and that many of them are kind of an open secret.Guest wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 12:11I had a fquick lesson here on lchat in recent months about SK aproach to LGBT community and if there is one thing I learned is that in current climate there is no way a big star (film, music or sport) would come out and be open about it.

Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
No one knows. Some said because KYK told her off for only setting to her twin sister, some said they broke up and she was bitter but in the end she was the one paying the price for her own scheme.
Around april/may KYK already started liking and commenting on KSH IG, so i guess their relationship ended before KYK confirmed joining pink spiders.
Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
She’s didn’t outright accuse her. She made it seem like she was talking about her and when people heard about it they pretty much all thought oh she’s talking about kyk. Like it was during the season not during national team play. So her saying a senior Korean teammate or member only points to kyk. What I think happened is they had a real life couple fight that bled into the game. Or they mightve broken up. And ldy got pissed and stopped doing her job. I watched the season they played together in Korea and to me it was obvious ldy wasn’t mixing up her sets. She would set it to her sister most of the time and then kyk, then the other hitter. I’m saying she literally only set it to the Argentinian hitter like 8 times a game. That’s nothing. And I think kyk started to get pissed cause she’s kept setting to her sister trying to get her points and make her look good, when it wasn’t what was best for the team. You’re supposed to mix the sets up read the defense to catch the blocking and defense off guard. I think kyk must of confronted her or the coach and ldy got pissed and said she was being bullied. And they were poised to be the next big things to Korean volleyball, saying how beautiful they were and how they were the next superstars. Add that into them being the daughters to an Olympian and a national Korean athlete, they were never properly told no and disciplined. Especially in the Korean league they were hot shits.
Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
She has a gay swag, definitely one of us
Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
Initially people were pointing fingers to another senior until a volleyball magazine dished out that the beef was between LDY and KYK. Knetz bashed LDY at first and called her picking fights with KYK but after the rumor about LDY's attempting suicide making rounds they started blaming KYK until she close her comment section on IG. People then went on her YT and sent mean comments there, if you notice KYK stopped uploading on YT around the same time the controversy happened. It was such a shitstorm that Pink Spiders only finished the season as runner up when everyone expected the to win the season so easily. Everyone's motivation was down including KYK. But she pulled through and get the team back up.Guest wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 13:27She’s didn’t outright accuse her. Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
How can anyone think this woman is not a lesbian, that's the question.
Lesbian swag for miles
Re: Kim Yeon Koung - Korean Volleyball Player
Lmao it's funny how some would point out she's not gay just because she's tall and handsome. There are hundreds of tall and handsome women, but not everyone has the gay swag she's giving off every moment.
