Re: Women's College Basketball
I only turned in to the 4th qtr but what I saw was total domination. UConn looked lost. I was surprised by that. I wasn't surprised when SC beat my Oregon team by 18 pts. We were missing 3 starters and 4 of our top 8 players. I expected it to be worse, tbh. And as short handed as we were, I was proud of the girls and their efforts. Only team to score over 60 points on that great SC defense so far this season. Losing to South Florida bothered me more, but still missing 4 players. They're not expected back until start of PAC-12 season.
SC, Maryland, and Indiana have impressed me. Haven't seen Baylor yet.

Have to question why the hell she was still on the court in the final minute of a blowout winGuest wrote: ↑06 Dec 2021, 22:50

Bumping for the NCAA tourney. Should be a fun one.

Can't wait for selection tonight. I have never seen the college game be this close.Guest wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 20:57Bumping for the NCAA tourney. Should be a fun one.
Re: Women's College Basketball
Really good to see so many close games and surprises in both mens and women's game.
And that the women are slowly but surely are getting the respect they deserve.
And it helps that Caitlin Clarc is getting noticed on the national stage and media. Extra attention for the women's tournament. Probably not strong enough her team but she is awesome to watch when on fire.

Re: Women's College Basketball
For who she has around her, she has been incredible this year. And there has been so many upsets in various conference playoffs this year. Miami seemed to come out of nowhere. Kentucky beating South Carolina. This year could break some records with viewership that should have happened in 2020.Guest wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 21:40Really good to see so many close games and surprises in both mens and women's game.

Re: Women's College Basketball
Feels like all the top teams are very beatable this year. I'm super excited.
I'm honestly not too surprised by Miami. They are better than their record indicates. I say this as someone who watched a lot of ACC games this year (Louisville fan here). And they were bad matchup for us and we struggled earlier in the year against them (physical teams are our kryptonite). I'm not sure how we'll fare. We can be inconsistent and have a habit of always having one awful quarter and never playing the full 40 minutes. I feel one day we'll finally get over the hump and win that title, but I don't think it will be this year. We always get talent, but it's not on par with the UCONNs, Stanfords, and the SC's of the world. But to think 15 years ago we had never been to the Sweet 16 and now we're top 10 every year has been pretty amazing. WBB has improved so much. I honestly got sick of UCONN winning every year it turned me off following the NCAA, but the parity is a lot better now.

About time the field has expanded to 68. It's awesome to see the growth of the women's game.
Re: Women's College Basketball
Another tough year for Iowa. Both the women's and men's teams got bounced early. Maybe the celebrated too much after winning the Big Ten championship.
Re: Women's College Basketball
What a crazy tournament. And idiots try to say the women's tourney doesn't have any upsets.
Re: Women's College Basketball
Anyone know if re-seeding happens in both brackets or just on the men's side?

Re: Women's College Basketball
There's never been reseeding before, for either men's or women's Tourney. Doubt there is now. Some sites do it for fun, but it's not real. ESPN is one of the Sports sites who writes an article on how they'd reseed.Guest wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 06:02Anyone know if re-seeding happens in both brackets or just on the men's side?
Re: Women's College Basketball
I would say that this projection is 100% wrong. South Carolina and Stanford are into the Final Four while the other 2 spots will be determined tomorrow night. If Louisville beats Michigan and North Carolina State beats UConn, we will have all 4 #1 seeds in the Finals for the first time since 2018. That was the Final Four that went to overtime in both Semifinal games, and ND winning it all when Arike Ogumbawale hit the winning shot in both of her games, as time expired. One of the best Final Fours ever. Can't guarantee all #1s, though; as Michigan and UConn are formidable foes.Guest wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021, 09:31But I doubt it since I don't see Stanford in final four this season![]()
Re: Women's College Basketball
South Carolina, UCONN, and Stanford are going to be top 3 teams again next season. I do love the top players staying all four years, but in a way it's annoying because it's the same teams that just dominate every year once they get a great recruiting class or two. Women's college basketball is still very top heavy despite the parity being there more than before.
I'm curious how much longer Tara and Geno are going to coach.

Re: Women's College Basketball
Should have been NC State in this final. They would have lost, but they at least would have hustled.

Re: Women's College Basketball
Game winning 3 with 1.5 seconds left. That shit was crazy. I think only Arike's championship winning shot was 3 seconds.
Re: Women's College Basketball
I read some fuck faces on twitter saying she traveled but it looks like she only takes two steps and shoots? Do people not know the rules or something?
Re: Women's College Basketball
A lot of people think they know the rules but they don't. The ref was right there, it was a good shot.
Re: Women's College Basketball
lol that's pretty cool
