I didn't find this thread on the list, so here it is, If it's already done and I missed it feel free to merge the threads or whatever is needed.

Here's a link to the old tapa thread.
https://www.spam.com/groups/l_anon/braz...l-t3450408.html

It's a bummer that the original threads could not be moved. On the brightside I always wanted to change the name of the thread to women's soccer team and scratch the "ladies" part, and also add a more general topic description.

First news to start up the new forum:
https://twitter.com/Air1_16/status/1082293458491097089
:o
Sole Jaimes to Lyon. Pretty unexpected news. She's a great attacker, had a terrific season with Santos before going to China. She also plays for the Argentinian NT. Good luck to her! It's lovely to see more and more South American players being noticed by the bigger markets.
It makes me mad that our players have such bad agents, or simply take bad choices. I keep reading about offers from big clubs that one wouldn't expect, like Kerolin getting offers from Germany, or Adriana from Lyon, but all we get is players going to China, or Portugal, or South Korea, or Italy, or Spain max, emerging markets instead of stablished ones.

Lots of players leaving Santos. Corinthians has been losing players too lately, but they have also signed decent ones, I think their biggest loss was Yasmin, I wonder where she's going.
Santos in the otehr hand is not making signings yet.
Tayla just announced her departure.

The list for training camp is out.
The camp will go from january 14 to february 22, but the players who are in season will only stay untill january 22.

I'm really glad to see he called Leticia and Taina besides the usual suspects, Leticia deserves to at least be in training camps regularly. I think she's our best prospect for future starting GK after this ridiculous Vadao era is finished. She should easily grab that backup spot behind Barbara.
I'm also glad to see Joyce and Jucinara back, but I wonder why he never calls Yasmin, he could easily call her over Tamires. As for his right back options I don't understand Poliana and Leticia still on the list, he should try Katiuscia or Paulinha, or who kows, someone else, Maurine did good for Santos in that position.
So glad to see Erika and Fabi back after months, I hope Fabi can stay healthy.
I would drop Camila for a while and give the chance to someone else. Luana being called right now seems so random, she's in South Korea now, the few times I saw her in Avaldsnes I liked her and thought she could be a good name in our midfield, but I have not sen her play in a long time. Seems to me he may be calling her just for training porpuses, same with that Juliana girl from Flamengo, I don't know whether she is good or bad, but he always calls her when he nedds "bodies", never gave her minutes and usually cuts her from his final lists.
I see Bia is recovered from her injury, good news. Glad to see Kerolin and Adriana seems like they have their spots pretty much sealed on the team. I think Geyse will be dropped at the end, but I'd love to see her getting some minutes in a friendly before deciding she is not wirth having on the bench. His favs Raquel and Rilany are there as usual. =_=
Glad to see Darlene on the list, I think she's been having good consecutive years in the last few years, I see her very motivated and fired up. Would like to see more minutes of her though on the NT.

Plus no Brena again. One of the most dominant players throughout the season but he doesn't call her up. Talk about being incompetent. :lolscroll:

Damn, it's incredible how not many years ago they managed to be number 2 (I'm reading posts from 2012 when we were already doing pretty bad and we were number 4) in the world with almost 0 support from their federation and a poor league way less structured and competitive than it is now, with way less camps, less players abroad, less friendlies and poor preparation before the big tournaments. With the proper support and some of the players we had/have on their prime, we should have been able to at least win one WC and one Gold medal, we were very close even under the known bad circumstances.
Now teams have been getting better, growing their domestic leagues, putting more money on club and national teams, it's not enough now to have a golden generation, a half decent coach and throw some minimal budget, there needs to be a serious job done at all levels, from youth to senior and inside the domestic league. And we need a good tactician, not just someone mediocre they recycled from men's football, we need someone truly smart and dedicated to the sport.
Right now we are years behind in development.

This is Luana's latest highlights video, stuff from 2017 and 2018. I like her. I hope she's selected for SBC. She seems good stealing balls, dribbling opponents, sending good passes foorward to her teamates and cold blood to finish if she's required to, plus good shots from outside the box.

Daniela Alves was hired by Corinthians to coach their u17 team.

Image

Really good news for Daniela and Corinthians, bad news for our u20 team though, Daniela was the only good thing from that coaching staff. Now they are awaiting an assistant coach and a head coach.
Some fans are already especulating about a possible offer from CBF to Arthur and that is why Cortinhians wants to have Daniela close so she can take on the senior team eventually. I think it's a bit or a reach, even if I think Vadao could be fired after the wc if we do extremely bad, I'm not very sure CBF would hire Arthur, they are so incompetent, they can easily go and hire some dude from men's divison 2, or give it to Luizao from the U17 women's national team, which would be just as bad as keeping Vadao in charge.
I think many fans are seeing Arthur as the best choice, me included, it could turn out that he is not the right fit, but looking at Corinthians I feel hopeful, unlike Emily who's teams seem unbalanced between attack and defense (too attacking minded in detriment of defense), Arthur's teams seem way more balanced, I really like how his team plays, he seems to have a very clear system that tends to work fine, he has a prefered starting eleven, but when he makes changes the style pretty much remains, he knows how to pick his best starting eleven and the players seem to be very motivated. Vadao lacks all those characteristics, so if Arthur can inject that kind of mindset on the national team it would be great.

Yasmim to Benfica.

Image

She's so pretty.
How many Brazilian players in Benfica already? What is it with so many Brazilians going? They must be building a very interesting project and the salaries must be nice, in other times I guess all these players would have gone to China or South Korea instead.
Is the Portuguesse anon still around? I would like to know more about all of this.

Another very talented player from Corinthians, Ana Vitoria.

So as far as I can tell: Yasmim, Ana Vitoria, Daiane, Ana Alice, Rilany (she is no longer in At de Madrid), Dani, Maiara, Patricia Llanos, Geyse and Darlene.

Cristiane pretty close to signing with Barcelona.
Really good news for us fans who missed seeing her play. Although she's going to get a lot of shit from Barcelona fans if she doesn't score in close matches in the league, that is the biggest advantage Atletico has over them.
So good luck to her! I'm so glad to see her out of China finally.

Marta did a special with ESPNW Brasil. I read a transcript where she disclosed some things about that 2007 team. Basically there wasn't a good enviroment at the beginning, there was a lot of competition, but Rene Simoes changed the enviroment and mindset of the players and according to Marta that mindset lives on till present day.

Would be nice to hear about the Emily debacle, the whole business about the letter they sent to Del Nero and the real enviroment now with Vadao, how the players really feel about being coached by a man that already failed in the previous two major tournaments. Hopefully we hear about that in a couple of years after her retirement.

Cris to Sao Paulo instead of Barcelona like everyone thought. A bummer that we won't see her play every week, but int he other hand it's good for Sao Paulo to have someone of her name playing for them.

They just created a senior team and already snatched Cris and Rubi, they seem to be taking things seriously. Yet another men's club fullfiling the demand from conmebol of having women's teams going by 2019.

Here's a bit of information about this year's Brasileirao:
https://globoesporte.globo.com/blogs/dona-d...femininos.ghtml

I does not especify if the teams in first division will suffer changes, but at least the second division should have an influx of new teams.
Some clubs prefer to associate with existing clubs, especially those that work with youth categories, which is also good, those players need more structure.

Also this article establishes that a u-18 tournament is going to be created this year. Also the senior tournament starts in March.

It's going to take time but I think that creating two divisions and the new conmebol rule that forces the big clubs to create women's sections could give it's fruits in a number of years. If the clubs take it seriously and conmebol regulates things properly (which is a whole diffrent conversation if we know Conmebol), more players in their teens would be expossed to better conditions, better structure, better fields, better medical attention, better training, better coaching staffs, I think with time that could develop Brazilian woso a lot. Let's see.

More info about this year's legue divisions 1 and 2. https://planetafutebolfeminino.com.br/com-c...ra-as-mudancas/

D1 goes from march to september, 16 teams. Instead of two groups, this time everyone will play each other and the best 8 qualify for home and away knockouts.
The worst 4 on the table at the end of the season will be relegated instead of 2.

D2 goes from 16 teams to 36, from march to august.
D2 teams will also host the u18 league/tournament, which will have 24 teams devided in 6 groups. It goes from july to september.

Busy second half of January.
I'm pleased, I missed watching NT woso. Vadao once again prefers doing a meaningless camp than actually playing games. I guess I should see the positives of it, I can watch all the other action without suffering because of Brazil's awful performances.

So here's a list of the action to have in mind:

Uruguay will play France :blinkwide: It's nice to see some changes are beggining to be made, first hosting the u17 wc which means a lot of expossure for those girls to better teams from around the world, unfortunately they only played four matches and was eliminated in group stage, but it's great experience and a good precedent to host a wc.
Now this is great experience for the senior team, I see the French are not too thrilled which is understandable, but it's big for uruguay to be playing games like that, I hope it's not a one-time thing, it's huge especially cause Uruguay did not qualify for the WC, so playing games like that is the right way to go to aspire to reach a wc at some point, it's not impossible to qualify from conmebol since federation support tends to be erratic for a lot of teams and Brazil is losing more and more power with the awful choices made by CBF.

Vadao called Luciana to camp replacing Barbara.http://ferroviariasa.com.br/2019/01/17/ ... rasileira/
I have to admit I have not seen Ferroviaria play last year so I don't know, my last impressions of Luciana come from when she was NT starting GK and she was VERY bad. I hope she improved, we know Vadao likes to call all his friends to camp no matter how useless they are. It worries me that if Barbara isn't healthy for the WC we are stuck with Aline who is a good GK but too short, and I don't trust Vadao to take Leticia as his second GK, he may call Luciana, so for the sake of the team I hope she's much improved.

Interview with Cris.
https://www.cbf.com.br/selecao-brasileira/n...ira-e-sao-paulo

" I want to be world champion and olympic champion, that is the focus of my career"

Oh Cris, what else do I want more in the world than seeing Brazil world champions? specially being this the last world cup for at least three legendary players from that golden generation that almost made it in 2007, but it's not going to happen, not under Vadao and probably not in the near future.

She said that one important reason to reject international offers was her mom's health, she is not feeling right so she wanted to be close to her.

This instagram has lots of pics and videos.
https://www.instagram.com/selecaofemininaa/

When I see new pics and videos and mostly those promotional pictures with goal celebrations I feel super excited for a minute and then remember that we are fucking screwed. I can't stand the hypocrisy of hyping the casual fan that watches once every 4 years, by uploading all this content, only to get completely decimated once the tournament starts. There's no use in allowing the women to use the same training centers as the men and take lots of fancy promo pics if you don't show compromise when it matters, when you have to hire a decent coach but don't, when you need knowdlegable people inside CBF but insist in keeping ex players out of the insitution and don't allow them to occupy positions of power, when you don't hear players demand about creating a woso commitee to improve the sport and unify forces across all categories, when you need a coach to fail a million times before you finally fire him, only to employ an equaly bad coach to replace him, etc.
Just imagine the things someone like Aline Pellegrino could do inside CBF, but we are stuck with Marco Aurelio.

For the sake of Brazilian woso I hope the team exceeds expectations and qualifies for late rounds somehow despite Vadao's bad decisions when it comes to game plan, starting eleven and squad choices in general. Because unlike previous World Cups, this one is going to be televised by THREE channels (a kind of interest that only Marta playing her last World Cup can spark), it would be a shame that, in a context where the league seems to be taking baby steps into the right direction finally, the interest in woso drops even before picking up because of a horrible world cup presentation in national tv.
