Idk, this situation seems dumb to me. The other day Kasatkina got booed because she didn't wait for the handshake and it looked like she was the one giving the cold shoulder to Svitolina. Now Sabalenka waited for a handshake, Svitolina skipped it, got booed and people blame Sabalenka for not wanting to be the one taking the boos? Lol is that really the problem?

And more dedicated tennis fans might not like it, but Sabalenka is liked by the casual match going crowd who just enjoys a fun personality and attractive tennis without digging deep on what player has pictures with whoever politician. She has a good sense of humor, isn't afraid to poke fun at herself and this makes her likeable in the eyes of the person that doesn't spend much time analyzing players off the court.
The crowd can be stupid. And funny people may not always be good role models, especially for the younger generation.

Hitler was a good artist and was very fond of children. His entourage described him as a wonderful person, so let's now study his work without the political component. This is, of course, a very hyperbolic example in the context of tennis. But I hope the point is clear.

On the bright side congratulations to Bia Haddad Maria on making semis.

More Badosa on camera would make Tsitsipas matches worth watching.

*Besides Suarez Navarro having twin girls and the Badosa/Tsitsipas relationship what other personal news or gossip have people on this thread heard about the players?

*I want Muchova and Ruud to win the French Open titles.

*I love that Ana Ivanovic reminds fans every year of her French Open title. It's kind of funny in a nice way.

*I read about PGA Tour/LIV/DP Tour merger in golf. Do we think Saudi involvement at the top of pro tennis(I know there is the Diriyah Cup but that is an exhibition)is inevitable?I think it is unfortunately. And I don't believe the stuff about Saudi involvement in sports and entertainment will help their country modernize.

I hope my English is OK.Thank you.

The Tsitsipas situation is funny, almost pathetic tbh. Back in the way he actually seemed like a nice fella and respectful of female players. Nobody seemed to give him the time of the day. He came out as anti equal pay and had some disparaging remarks about women and suddenly there's a WTA player willing to date him. You can't make this up lmao.

Call me cynical but Badosa/Tsitsipas screams PR relationship and storyline for a future season of Netflix show Break Point.Alja Tomljanovic and Matteo Berrettini are long since done dating each other so maybe Netflix wanted another couple (even if only a PR one).Maybe I have listened to the Beyond The Blinds podcast way too much and question every celebrity relationship now but PR couple seems to fit with these two.

That was a fantastic semi final to watch, really good quality as well as being a real nail bitter with no real idea who was winning it until the very end. Love to see Muchova in the final, she's had some really unfortunately timed injuries which derailed her progress more than once when she was making moves up the rankings. Hopefully she can stay healthy because she has such an enjoyable game to watch especially now she seems to have worked out how best to employ her variety to have the most substantial impact. Her shot selection has been wonderful recently. Also great to see another player bringing in a former player into her camp especially someone like Flipkens who can help Muchova use her expansive game to the most impactful effect.
