My WTA crush is Badosa and I am missing her so much this French Open.
Girl same. And Paula's likely out for a while. :bigcry:

On the subject of Badosa for a woman so straight she sure does have chemistry with almost every woman alive.

Took an anon from yesterday's advice and am watching Rybakina vs Noskova. Rybakina just took the 1st set vs Noskova. Come on Lena!

Also,Noskova looks like a pretty good player.
Not the best match for Lena…anyways she made it :queen:
So cuteeee in pink :hudoin:
I really hope she is not in a relationship with her coach :(

Why is it so tough for tennis players to come out but it's commonplace in soccer?
Individual sponsorships are more important in tennis+ a lot of high profile soccer players are from relatively accepting places. Kasatkina literally might not be safe going back to Russia their anti-gay laws are so nuts.

Also lots of soccer players seem to come out once social media notices they're dating their teammate. Can't remember the last time somebody just tweeted she's a lesbian or equivalent.

Fritz is so annoying rn. French rooted for their player who was an underdog, why is he surprised? They wouldve rooted for their players against everyone, probably even Nadal. He is still nobody :eyeroll:

If this was football sure, but tennis is supposed to be the "classy" sport. People hated AO fans when Kyrgios+Kokkinakas played doubles. There's rooting for your hometown players and there's being an asshole

Cool to see Podoroska getting back into the top 100. I wish we had an out player with an actual chance at winning GSs but rando vets are cool too. And I'll keep my fingers crossed for Kasatkina at every tournament even if she's bound to get overpowered in the big ones.

That was a breeze for her that match; 6-2, 6-2. Stats have said her forehand averaged 131kmh… :nervous:

Ostapenko is iconic! Who else in tennis can get away with dressing in stuff that resembles the kind of getup that Barney or Zoolander or a court jester would wear?Every time she loses a tournament becomes less colorful.Yes she could behave a little better at times...

Muchova sure could achieve a lot more if she wasn't so unlucky with injuries.Wonder if her friend Rebel Wilson is watching the match somewhere in the world.

I'm disappointed Ostrava will no longer have a WTA tournament. I thought it had a great crowd and atmosphere last year, so I thought surely it will stay as an option, but oh well.

I guess it just didn't make sense geographically to have all these tournaments in Asia and a random WTA 500 in Ostrava. I'm disappointed specifically about Ostrava, but I don't understand the general criticism towards WTA for returning to China. It's funny how they're made fun of for not making max profit, but at the same time they're expected to do everything with a moral value and integrity. China, Czech Republic, United States and Russia are the countries that consistently develop women's tennis even when they don't have a top, top player and they need to be rewarded for it. Russia is out for obvious reasons, therefore I don't blame WTA for not sacrificing another country that invests in women's tennis without hesitation.

Yeah WTA were screwed from the start when the ATP didn't support them in leaving China, I don't blame them for getting paid after they had to sell like 30% of their company to stay afloat.
