So Arsenal want Mariona in their team, they need to say goodbye to someone and don't hate here, but I think they should sell Viv, because she is always injured( not she is injured again) and not that good anymore, I think Stina will leave anyway to the club that she will have place in first 11, plus I have this weird feelings that Jonas would sell Foord, then we will have space for Mariona, I just hope no more drama, because Mariona and Wälti are together
lol. what is this??

1. arsenal don’t want mariona. pretty sure we will be in the market for a lw, but a younger one not her. if she’s coming to the wsl, i’d bet on her going to city or chelsea.

2. we definitely shouldn’t sell viv. we wouldn’t be selling her anyway, she would go on a free this summer. but we shouldn’t let her go regardless. we need to put her back in the 9 position and tell jonas to get a grip. if she doesn’t work out there, then sell her next summer (when we’d actually profit too) knowing we actually tried to make the most of her.

3. why would we sell foord? she’s not even as bad as people make out. and jonas literally favours her too, as evident in the fact she’s rarely dropped (/rested). he’s not getting rid of her.
The LW won’t be someone younger. It will be Tobin Heath. Her and Jonas still talk regularly and they need some of her winning mentality back.
Are lia & mariona even still together I wonder. If so, I can see mariona moving to WSl. Would arsenal want more couples though. The drama has been intense.

Tbh I think the fans make the drama way bigger than it actually is. The players all seem to get on fine, it’s just noise. And yeah assuming Lia and Mariona are still together, but doubtful she’ll go to Arsenal. Lia won’t want another potential ex at the club, and they want their relationship to be private which will be impossible with Arsenal fans if they’re on the same team.

I don’t follow Villa, so admittedly i’m saying this as an outsider here, but I don’t really get this decision? Yeah she’s not been the greatest this season, but their problems don’t all seem to come from managerial issues. Also who will they even get to replace her?
Villa haven't sacked her or encouraged her to leave so she can save face. Ward is leaving of her own volition.
Why though? I'm actually surprised by this, I was rooting for her to go again next season.

Considering you had Daly, Nobbs and Staniforth joining because they aligned with her vision, do we expect them to all leave at end of contract as well?
No they will stay because they do not have better alternatives. DVD2 will go to Arsenal or MC because she is a big upgrade for those clubs
Lol you're a bit delusional if you think any club is paying for DVD2 fresh off the back of injury without any sign of what form she'll be returning in. Maybe when she becomes free and has a season to actually prove herself.
The same delusional like Barcelona signing Roebuck who has not played for a year and was rubbish for a year before when she actually played. Clubs look for potential and upside.

As a Villa fan, erin hun you can stick around forever if this is the Jordan nobbs you provide us with. I’m sorry we have her behind Lehmann, cause this is cruel
I swear 😡

Alisha got one crappy goal against West Ham and she’s benched Dri?
You might want to vote for Jordan as POTM on Twitter then because Alisha’s male crew are voting hard

I mean I will vote for Jordan because I think she was the better player overall and it irks me when the goalscorer gets all the plaudits. But I did already take back my Alisha attack. She humbled me moments there and I retracted my statement. Still don’t think she should be starting over Dri though.

I will also vote for Jordan but not because I watched the game or care about anything to do with it, mainly cause I want to know if her rumoured girlfriend likes it. Embrace what we’re actually on this forum for plz x

Where do you all think Fran (and by extension Maren since they’re likely a package deal) will end up? They just put a ton of work into their house so going to a team outside of London would surprise me a lot but I guess if it’s only for a season or two it’s not impossible. Someone on Reddit said that Spurs aren’t keen anymore to take other teams’ older players and they really want to push towards the top. West Ham are always in need of players but I still feel like both of them are better than a team that’s always in a relegation battle. Crystal Palace is coming up too but first year in the top is almost always a battle.

Not at all equivalent, Barcelona as a club are broke and the tightening of the purse strings is impacting their contract negotiations even on the women's side. Roebuck will have gone cheap cheap and she knows it's the best she'll ever get. There's no way Barça are hoping she'll be a #1, she's there to be backup. Cata Coll is young and got years left to go.

People throwing about that DVD2 will get nabbed by Arsenal or MU are ill-informed and just petty about Zinsberger and Earps. DVD2 was all good and well for hype when she was fit, but now with this injury that will have cooled. Big clubs aren't going to pay her fee for a "who knows maybe?" when they need to actively invest in finding new #1s.

Tbh DVD hasn’t been amazing for us. So much faith and has moments of greatness but she’s not amazing yet. Zinsberger would bench her. And I think she’s been quite open about wanting to be a number 1. I think we keep her tbh. Especially with the injury

i don’t get how zinsberger has suddenly taken such a nosedive in performances anyway. like 2 & 3 seasons ago she was one of the best in the league. i don’t think she’s shit or anything rn but you can’t deny she’s dropped in form and it’s weird to me. sometimes it’s like she can’t be bothered, so won’t bother to jump for a ball or bother to move her feet.

Mate she hasn’t! She was horrendous for half the season but she’s been good second half of the season . I actually blame a lot of goals conceded since Christmas on the defence but Arsenal fans blind to their centre backs mistakes cause “childhood gooner” and “family fc” and all that. I think that’s what’s so frustrating about her. We know she can be better, and that she can save a lot of those goals that Arsenal concede. But most of the time she just doesn’t put in that effort or seem to care. Like the amount of clips i’ve seen with her completely rooted to the floor, or just ball watching… it’s insane. I’d rather a keeper dive and still not manage to keep it out, than one who doesn’t do anything at all. At least they’d have put in the effort and you can argue they tried.

This is a bit long but whatever ig.

The defence has definitely been a problem this season. Lotte has been better than she ever has on a personal level, but it’s still not really an incredible overall level (not taking away from the fact she has improved though). Leah’s been returning from ACL, and had other injury issues in that, so she’s not been completely 100%. Then we had Amanda who was shaky trying to fit into the side at first, then once i thought she’d finally got somewhere she’s pregnant so out. Codina has been fine, not great but not absolutely poor (though she’s also had to adjust too, and had some rocky games).

Then there’s partnerships. Lotte and Amanda were forgettable. Lotte and Leah have had their great games and their bad games (the problem is Leah is still working on adjusting herself and trying to manage that while also finding time for the two to really find their way as a duo, which there hasn’t been enough of anyway). Lotte and Codina were fine (some people rave as though they’re some amazing duo, but I disagree. Fine though, yes). Leah and Codina were also been fine in the very few games/times we’ve seen that.

That’s kinda why I don’t get why Jonas wasn’t playing Codina instead of Steph recently, alongside Leah. Why wouldn’t you work on an alternative centre back partnership in games that realistically aren’t going to change much for the outcome of our season?

Hopefully next season with Lotte carrying on her better form and improving even more, and Leah having been more steady and not managing a return from ACL, we’ll see more ease with our backline. Also hoping they’ll play some friendlies pre-season and the camp and such will just help to work on those relationships between players.

[ Now that I think about it more, I do get why our defence has been so poor. There have been so many changes, it’s hard to have a good defence with that. Also there was the issue with Manu being so poor in the first half of the season. ]

Yeah I agree with all this. There’s definitely been a lot of changes in the defence so, though I do think they should’ve done better anyway, it is easier to understand why they’ve not had the best defensive record this season.

Going into next season, I wonder if they should take a new look on the formation. 5 at the back, with wingbacks. McCabe and Fox on the sides, they both like to run and get involved up top so that’s good. Then Codina-Williamson-Wubben Moy at the back. That would give us extra defensive strength, and if something did happen to cause one of them to be out, we wouldn’t be changing too much to adjust. Also Leah could move more into midfield when we’re progressing the ball, since she’s got 2 other CB’s working with her. I just think that this would play to everyone’s strengths in that backline, and to each personal asset the players have. Idk, just wish Jonas would shake it up a little.

da. i’ve actually said this before myself lol. like pretty much exactly.
i agree on wishing jonas would shake things up, he’s got this one vision and it just does not work. like in his vision he didn’t see viv as a 9, and now we’ve lost one of the most effective 9’s arsenal have ever had.
wish he could just try new things and be dedicated to trying them out (bc giving a back 5/3 a shot in one game and seeing it not work out so ditching it, is dumb. it’s never going to work 100% right away, it needs time to flourish, as all formations and combinations do).

When Leah makes a goodbye video next season... 😂
Goodbye. I’m off to live my dream life in Cali with Tobin Heath.
A 37 year old washed up, temper tantrum expert, failed entrepreneur with the maturity and business intellect of a 17 year old teenage boy. Her complete avoidance of uncomfortable and complicated moments throughout life, on and off the pitch, are beyond childish. It's no longer concerning, simply utterly pathetic for someone her age.

Vilahamn definitely prefers signing younger players to older players, he's said so multiple times, but Levy would love to have another Lioness on the team to help boost our profile similar to how Beth England has done so I could see us signing Fran.

If Fran and Maren want to come as a package deal then that might make it more complicated

Lotte was at the Arsenal men’s game today, so I imagine she won’t be in the squad then tomorrow for City.

They seemed to leave around the time the game was on, with Alessia posting at like 3-ish. I just don’t see how she’d have been at the game and still been on the coach too.

i do think she could’ve made both, but it definitely would’ve been a tight squeeze. wouldn’t rule her out completely yet though.

I think it was around 2:30pm that the game ended, and the girls did seem to be on the coach around 3pm (when they actually got in it is a different matter).

So I guess then it depends on how fast she could get out of the stadium and to wherever they met up. I’m guessing London Colney.

Based on my searches, it can take 30-50 minutes to get from the Emirates to London Colney (depending on the day), and i’m guessing (considering it’s a match day) there was more traffic.

It would’ve been a hell of a race to get from there to the coach on time. I’m not sure if she would’ve made it.

This is considering that she stayed for the full game though, and we don’t know if she did. Or if a bunch of the girls were there and some of them got picked up at the stadium. We don’t really have any clue. Anyways, it’s only tomorrow now lol, might as well wait and see if she’s in the squad or not.

Predictions for City - Arsenal?
Arsenal are very inconsistent and have real problems in attack, but with them you never know...

Can someone explain to me most of Arsenal fans and their behaviour? They say now everywhere that they want Arsenal to lose to Man City, because then Chelsea wouldn't win anything... ok I get it, but I thought as Arsenal fan we should want our team to do always the best, to win, to show their power! How u can be Arsenal fan and want your team/team you love lose, because you hate Chelsea?

It’s not just an Arsenal or football thing…when a team is out of contention people want a team they hate to lose the title too lol

These posts are so annoying, use your brain. Arsenal have an extreme rivalry with Chelsea, of course they don't want them to win the league again. Out of Chelsea and Man City, Man City is the preference. In saying that, most fans want Arsenal to perform well and win BUT the point being they're not going to be devastated at this point in the season if we draw or lose to Man City as there is a silver lining. If you're not aware of the rivalry between teams and how serious clubs/fans take it, then suggest you do some research. Your opinion is meaningless otherwise as you sound uneducated.

I think the difference here is that City are playing for Steph today, and likely want a great game at home for all the fans and celebrations. They'll be extra fired up. Arsenal want to win of course, but there isn't a 'do or die' attitude anymore. Maybe if Arsenal had won against Everton last week it would have been a different story, but they're out of the race for 1 and 2 so City should pip them at the post. Should be a great game, wouldn't even be surprised if City blow it out of the park and walk away with a 4-0 scoreline.

You are taking shit no real Arsenal fan wants to lose and the players certainly will be bothered. They was devastated drawing with Everton.

I reckon she’d stay at Villa if she had the option because her boyfriend plays for men’s team. But she’s been very poor for Villa this season. Shes benched a lot. She’s had two very lucky and very scrappy goals in the last two games but she has left it very late in the season to start scoring. But she does bring a lot of attention to Villa (I’d say unwanted) but for a club, attention is attention. Keeps them relevant for the men’s too. Most followed women’s player etc. She seems like a nice girl too and gets along well with the team. Definitely brings something but had a very bad season.
Been reported off topic.
