Out with a knee injury? Thought it was her ankle?
You can injure different body parts lol. Her ankle with always give her problems, but it's been other things lately. In 2022 I think it went from her calf, to her hamstring, then her hip, and it was obvious whatever it was, it was working its way up her leg and she didn't play the rest of the season. Last year right before the World Cup I think it was her ankle or calf because her leg was taped tf up. She ended up missing most of the end of last season after the World Cup. Now it's her knee. I wonder if it's all the same leg?

Anyway, girl can't stay healthy and sadly I see retirement on the horizon. She's been like this since like 2017 but has been able to bounce back in the nick of time. Not so much anymore. If not for the COVID year, I'm not sure she would have been able to have the one healthy season with the Spirit in 2021. DA
If anyone watched her earlier in the year and and is also asking about USWNT, it’s probably best that Kelley retires from USWNT. She’s slower than ever now. She shouldn’t have been selected to the WC Roster last year. She wasn’t even healthy. My bet is Juan phases her out this year more for Gotham. She’s wayyyy to injury prone. She should do more of her podcasts and stuff with JWS. Sad to see when athletes don’t hang up the cleats before they are way over the hill.

There’s a podcast or interview where KO said KS refused to move to ATL. But I guess NYC worked?

KO took out DC, but they bought a house there? She also changed her contact… OHouseProductions?! New career path?

Someone mentioned in here that KS employer has offices in NYC, so that makes sense if she did make the permanent move as opposed to ATL.

Didn't they co-produce that film? Makes sense they would have a production company together and maybe it wasn't just a one-off thing. Da

The film was accepted as part of the Tribeca Film Fest, which is HUGE. One of the best film festivals out there. I'll probably go to the June 8th screening after the Gotham game.

There are some pretty qualified people on that short film. Good for them, but it isn’t Sundance. Short films have like a 25% chance of being accepted. LGBTQ films, even more. Anyone notice KS added O’House Productions to her LinkedIn? I googled the company and her name came up. Goal is to promote female storylines. Apparently it’s based in NYC, no website though. I guess good for KO while she’s rehabbing her injuries.

She's my favorite player, too. So sad. JWS did an interview with her, she said she made the decision over the off-season and it's given her time to come to terms with it more. She said she always told herself she would quit when she stopped loving playing or when she physically couldn't anymore, and she realized over the last few years she would always love it, and ultimately she knew her body couldn't handle it anymore. And that's why she's doing it now as opposed to hanging on for one or two more seasons. DA

She hasn't been called up since the World Cup, so her Olympic chances are slim to none. Even when they were calling up players who were on the World Cup roster for those friendlies after the tournament, she wasn't available due to injury. She's injured now, actually.

I said this a couple of posts above yours, but she made the decision during the off-season. Said she listened to her body. Repeatedly being injured and coming back has been taking its toll. DA

She made the decision in the off-season? Do we know how long she’s out and if she’ll get called in for the Olympic roster for her experience? Or a friendly and send off? Last game on USWNT is a tough way to go out.

The OG roster hasn't any room for dead weight. She's finished with the NT. Can't even break into the starting XI on her club team.

Meh. I wouldn't be surprised if they made it a long-term rental property and they stay put. Great source of income if someone is there all year for more than a year. If they're renting a place now in NJ/NYC and Kelley is retiring, Gotham won't be paying a portion of that anymore, and that rental income will help.

I can't imagine paying $7500 a month for rent, though lol DA

And is KS still working at the same work? I don't think she would leave her work/offices in DC to move to NJ/NY, if she knew there was a possibility 2024 was KO's last year and for them to move back to DC after this season. I don't think they will move back to DC anytime soon or at all.
And I doubt KO was not thinking/talking about retirement before off season. Her contract end this year and she was already injured most of the time in 2023. She said the last time she talked with Kilgore was in autumn (so camp after WC) and in march or april she said again she did not talk with Kilgore or Hayes at all. So it's very clear that she was told back in autumm, she is not in the picture for NT anymore.

Let's be honest, she knew IF Gotham got her new contract at all, she would make peanuts, and without money from NT for 36 year old player constantly injured it's a losing battle and mainly losing money and time for her because I don't think she makes that much money from sponsorship or Under Armour anymore.
You can see she deleted the contact on her manager and put there that website ohouseproduction what is from both of theirs name O'hara and StanHOUSE, so KS is involved in that.

Politico has an office in NYC so KS can work from there. If Kelley wants to do the media thing - and she would be very good at it - NYC (or the tristate) is the place to be. Same with the ohouse productions. I know they love DC but it will probably be a matter of what KO decides to do after the season. At any rate, if they're getting $7500/month there's no reason to make a quick decision. That would pay the mortgage and rent in JC.

Exacty this. They were in DC because of KS job. If KS moved offices to NYC, there's literally no reason for them to go back unless they just love it so much. KO took DC out of the bio on her socials for a reason, and it's more than her no longer being with the Spirit. She had it there all last year.

Like you said, if Kelley moves into the media and broadcast world, staying NJ/NYC is the smarter option. Plus, NJ and NY are both film hubs, and it seems they're moving into that space with their production company. Renting out their place in DC instead of selling covers their mortgage, at least part of their rent in Jersey, and ensures that if they do decide to move back, the house is theirs to go back to. Da
