But at the end of day it has to do with basketball game and wins , if they do better like playoff it be good for the league and later they just have to surround her with better talent to win trophy
For me she is the new curry, with her ability to pass and shoot, but even curry lacks defensive and that something the other around her will need to adopt
It’s just to early to know how this will go , but I hope for best for the league

These teams with tiny areas have got to move to bigger venues. If you want to be taken seriously you can't play in arenas smaller than a mid-major college.
Re: WNBA - Part III
50% off is hella aggressive. Should save that for Back-to-school or Black Friday or something like that.
Re: WNBA - Part III
Da It looks ridiculous that these teams are moving arenas to accommodate an opposing player. Your team should get this treatment all the time.Guest wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 03:33These teams with tiny areas have got to move to bigger venues. Unacceptable:
Gateway Center Arena (Atlanta Dream) – 3,500 Seats
Entertainment and Sports Arena (Washington Mystics) – 4,200
College Park Center (Dallas Wings) – 7,000
Mohegan Sun Arena (Connecticut Sun) – 9,323
Wintrust Arena (Chicago Sky) – 10,387
Barely passable:
Michelob Ultra Arena (Las Vegas Aces) – 12,000
Major league:
Barclays Center (New York Liberty) – 17,732
Gainbridge Fieldhouse (Indiana Fever) - 17,923
Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle Storm) – 18,100
Talking Stick Resort Arena (Phoenix Mercury) – 18,422
Staples Center (Los Angeles Sparks) – 18,997
Target Center (Minnesota Lynx) – 19,356

I don’t really know how they pick draftees or the top draft, but with the low number of seats was it ever very likely that Caitlin Clark would be sent to any team with less seats than the big arenas? Business wise it makes sense to send her somewhere you can sale more seats.Guest wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 04:25Unacceptable:

I couldn’t imagine her going to Atlanta and only having 3,500 seats to sale. That seems like a huge disadvantage for the Dream if the NCAAW and league keeps growing.
Re: WNBA - Part III
Draft order is picked by lottery. The 4 teams with the cumulative worst prior 2 year records get weighted based on performance and then drawn.Guest wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 10:33I don’t really know how they pick draftees or the top draft, but with the low number of seats was it ever very likely that Caitlin Clark would be sent to any team with less seats than the big arenas? Indiana is perpetually bad and were in the lottery and won. Although I don’t think they had the best odds to win, they just got extra lucky. There was no conspiracy to get her there. I am sure the league would have preferred to have her in a bigger market.
Re: WNBA - Part III
Indiana did have the best odds. It was LA and Phoenix that were drawn out of “order”.Guest wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 13:28Draft order is picked by lottery. Dallas now sold out their season tickets for the first time. So now two teams can carry the league lol

Ahead of Caitlin Clark's WNBA debut, Dallas Wings individual ticket sales are up 1,170%
Dallas Wings CEO Gregg Bibb told WFAA the franchise has sold out of season tickets for the first time since arriving in town.
Dallas Wings CEO Greg Bibb told WFAA that the franchise wisely scheduled a pre-season game against the Fever before the WNBA draft, anticipating that Clark would begin her professional career and be the first selection.
"We have seen incremental gains in business growth every year since 2020, and what's happened in the NCAA has been an accelerant to that growth," Bibb said. "We structured our ticket sales accordingly and waited later in the calendar year to go on sale with them to create a pent-up demand post-draft."
Bibb also said the franchise decided to put tickets up for sale after the draft to capitalize on the hype from fans; this strategy has paid massive dividends for the team so far.
Re: WNBA - Part III
Golf clap for the Dallas Wings selling out their season tix. But considering the building can only hold 7,000 fans, what's the actual total number of tickets sold?

Good for the Liberty fans to be optimistic but do they really have the chance?

Re: WNBA - Part III
Last year was the first year I really got into watch the games, but I only started really watching about halfway through the season, so I’m still learning how things work.
So how does Pre-season games work? Are they televised? Do they count as part of their seasons records? If it’s before the “final roster cut down” is there a chance we’ll get to see some of the lower ranked draftees suited up before they’re cut?

They do not count towards season records.
They will include draftees that don’t make the final cut. Teams will use the games to evaluate bubble players.
