Last year was the first real year I watched WNBA games so this was my first time watching the draft, but do they normally draft players from the audience like Kate Martin? It seemed both spontaneous and unplanned at the same time.

I don’t think it has happened before. She just happened to be there supporting Clark and Holly (team IA reporter and all) knew it. She wasn’t even projected to be drafted in recent draft boards.

Holly also said she was going to be seated in the mezzanine, but she had them move her to ground level in case drafted.

That’s just wild to me. What a made-for-movie moment. I’m assuming at some point they told her, hey, you’re about to get drafted because her teammates were recording the moment, but still, just there as a spectator to support your best friend and you get called up to the stage yourself.

The person who recorded her getting drafted (Aliyah) said that they came up to her right before she got drafted and told her to move to a seat at the end of the row and to give her phone to someone else so they basically knew she was about to get drafted right before. Very exciting!

If you live near a D!ck's Sporting Goods, they sell her jerseys. Not sure if it's only Indy area locations tho.

I doubt it will be available nationally. But probably in Indiana and Iowa and select other markets. Dicks knows where her college jersey sold / was shipped to so I would guess they are leveraging that data.

Yes I must say even I'm sad that this batch is so straight the straight girls really bring the fashion and the glamour to the draft. Cameron and Angel are really pretty.
The general public will ate this pretty straight girls batch. They're also media ready. Clark carried but the other girls also really brought it.Good timing for the league if they're still fumbling this and can't capitalize then idk what else to say...

WNBA can’t pay more on only her , they need the league to to go , it’s good she bringing attention but idk why people are saying she selling out games when I see no sell outs , I was just looking and many tickets are available for multiple games
But again the league can like on CC , the money will come when other teams grow and sell games etc

Clark is a class act, also liked SB’s Instagram post of her and DT from final four weekend quickly. That did not stop people from dunking on Sue and DT in the comments anyway but the media plays into it too. They also perceive or portray from of Bird and DT’s comments as hater comments.
