Manchester City included Leila in a list of their players on international duty, so safe to say that she will be called for the Catalan national team. Pina also said that there would be Barca players called. So, I’m betting that Patri will play. I’m now really curious if she will go back to Spain NT in the next camp. Realistically nothing will have changed between this camp and next. I’m wondering if she just delayed her return to focus on club and to play for the Catalan NT with Leila and Pina, and she’ll miraculously pop up in Spain NT right before the Olympics.
Marta and Gemma are officially called up to the Catalan squad, along with Leila. Barça announced they'll also participate in a friendly vs Paraguay and that's where Pina and Patri will probably join (they weren't called up to the Catalan squad).
While personally I prefer Patri to not come back, I thought since February all signs were pointing to her coming back and joining the Olympics squad. But this recent stupid take from this a-hole will probably put off Patri again as he is directly insulting the las 15 again.
Apparently Patri is no longer eligible to represent the Catalan NT, as the rule that allowed her to play for them at underage level ends when a player is 18. Also, assuming that Pina wasn’t called because she is still declaring herself as not wanting to play for Spain, and it would be controversial to call her for the Catalan NT so.
Regarding article below, he has not said anything new about Las 15. The article is all about what happened and what he said at the time. Honestly, I think it would be better if Patri didn’t come back anyway. She doesn’t seem clear on what she actually wants. Also, the dressing room is very united now, and they seem to have turned a corner with Montse and the coaching staff. Let them continue.
