This is the Australian thread. We are going to hype up our players in here. If you want to hype up your club team, the international and English threads are available to do so. Teagan won them the game for the reason explained above. It was the last minutes of the game. Had that gone in, they would have walked away with one point instead of three. That save preserved the full three points.

Here’s a clip of the coach calling the save world class and just as important as the goals that were scored, btw:
da. yes or no - would she have had to make that save to preserve the narrow win in the first place if she hadn't scored an og and made some very questionable decisions on another chelsea goal?

yes or no - if her teammates hadn't gone on to score more goals to make up for these two mistakes would one great save have mattered in the end?

teagan didn't win them the game with a singular save. football is a game of 90 mins and a team sport. this was a team effort and it's insulting to all those other players to credit teagan alone with that win. take your biased goggles off.
You seem lost. This is the Australian thread. “All those other players” don’t matter in here and aren’t on topic in here. Teagan’s save, which saved them the three points whether you like it or not, matters in here. Bye, troll! The international and English threads are that way ➡️

Best of luck not getting lost in the future!
AFTER she put herself and her team in that precarious position with shit goalkeeping on multiple occasions earlier in the game.

Keep living in delululand. That's what we should have this thread renamed. I was told you Aussies were capable of criticising your players but it appears blind stanning is preferred.
The only reason you are in the Australian thread is to cause trouble. Grow up.
By being honest and trying to keep you grounded in reality actually. She made a great save but she also made multiple mistakes that led to multiple goals. You mentioned the one positive thing and left out the other negatives while heaping on the praise for one save. If you could keep you comments more balanced and weren't screeching that she single handedly won the game for Liverpool which is false and insulting no one would have had to say anything. Blind delulu stans get called out all over this website, you aren't immune.

That was a good save, and she made a couple other good ones as well. She could have done better for one or two of those goals, but fortunately Liverpool still won in the end.

As a Liverpool fan though, I can't help but balk that you would say she won us the game. Like that other anon said, she's not the only player in the squad, and there would have been no win to make a last-minute save for had those 4 goals not been scored.

It's not like our goal was peppered with shots that Teagan had to save.

Trolls, kindly exit stage left. Thank you so much. This is the Australian thread. Teagan preserved the full 3 points whether you like it or not (and you clearly don’t like it) please take your incessant trolling and desire to talk shit about her to a thread that will commiserate with you. Our thread is not it. The International thread loves to shit on our players, you’d be right at home there. The English thread would also be a great place to discuss the performances of the other players on Liverpool if that’s what you want to do. They are not Australian, so not on topic here. Stop talking shit about our player in our thread. Get out.
She HELPED preserve 3 points that she very nearly made her team give up with some boneheaded goalkeeping.

This thread is not for blind support, it's merely to discuss anything Australian soccer related. You don't own the thread or the narrative on a public forum accessible to the world. Stop acting like the nanny state e-safety commission who have been criticised for trying to censor anything that might hurt feeble Australians' feelings on worldwide social media platforms. What has happened to your country and your people that you're this thinskinned now? The idea that this is some praise only thread only comes from some of you new, post-WC stans.

Well thank you for saying she preserved the lead and not won us the game. You've stopped exaggerating her contribution, so that's good. You listened

5.3 on fotmob (lowest of all Liverpool players)

She was mid the entire game. One save doesn't change that. You lot sound like you didn't watch the game, just that clip, cause anyone that did would think that your statements acting like she was the saviour of Liverpool are ludicrous.

Bringing it back in case people want to talk about it now! Teags won the game for Liverpool with this save, 100%. It was 4-3 for Liverpool here, last minute. That was going in the net if not for her and if it had the result would have been a draw instead of 3 points. I too hope she gets a China game start!

You could say she almost handed it to them as well on a couple of the goals that were mainly her fault. One in particular she really didn't seem to have a clue what she was doing + the OG. I know this is the Aussie thread but Teagan isn't a one woman show at Liverpool and her Liverpool teammates worked just as hard to get that result ^o)

I wonder what Matildas admin was reading here and fired off a 'send Amy well wishes or so help me god' email to some players. Or was Ellie herself reading here?
Lmfao, are you delusional? Just kidding, I can answer that. You’re delusional. Ellie was on vacation with Danielle in Nice yesterday and the day before per their thread. Then she was in training with OL and filming DAZN content today according to OL and DAZN Instagram accounts. She sent Amy well wishes when she was able to do so and others will do the same
We don't know for sure if she was on vacation with D. nor not.
Lol some girl claimed to see them at the airport yet no picture but you just went and written an entire fanfiction about it 🤯

You're fucking delusional. Some people have to sleep and train and do other real life things before they get to your beloved social media. Just because you're chronically online doesn't mean others live that way too.
Ellie stan showing her nasty side. Take a joke, love.

stans like that one can never take a joke. she info bombed you about ellie and daan on holiday (her fav topic) then wrote some fanfic to go with it to help herself feel better after ellie and others were rightfully called out earlier for not saying anything.

If it was say Caitlin I guarantee there'd have been a similar outpouring on a Matildas post like Sam got. It's obvious there are cliques and a hierarchy. They definitely aren't the 23 besties they try to portray.
Have you ever been in a professional team environment? Any team at that level trying to portray themselves as ‘23 best friends’ is lying. The whole ‘we are all besties’ thing was the USWNT’s 2019 WC tagline. It’s false. You simply cannot have 23 people together and expect everyone to like each other. It’s not realistic, it’s not how human beings function. The expectation is to keep it professional and that’s it. That goes for both national and club teams
On a different note, has anyone ever wondered why it is "23"? :spy:
Da What on earth were you even trying to angle at here? You new fans are beyond embarrassing.

Because for world cups and most other rosters that are not Olympic ones, 23 players are named.

just watched the game, liverlpool played out of their usual skin
I was worried when I heard about Teagan's own goal, but relief it was one of those unavoidable ones
Her save gave them their win

Re: Australian Womens Football

Is anyone going to Olympics this year to watch tillies, would love to but its right in the middle of trials which sucks☹️ Also with the whole players not sharing Amy to there story thing, I’m sure if Amy makes a post they’ll comment in support and they’ve all most likely been in contact with her already.

Re: Australian Womens Football

What a save by Teagan! I think that probably won them the game, whew.

No pitchforks, just confused about the double standard. They all shared Matilda's Sam Kerr ACL post (and yes I realise it was Sam Kerr captain and friend), so it's not exactly correct they don't interact with the official account. I have a feeling the post was made when they were all asleep based on UK/EURO timezone, so maybe it just went unnoticed.
Nope, it was posted at 6am AEST. 9pm UK time. Not that late at all. The story was first released at 4am which I was surprised about. Obviously had it all scheduled to post.
ahhhh fair, I'm probably still used to daylights savings for both countries which would have made it 11pm. I guess they would have seen Maccas post anyway.
a lot of them don’t follow Amy’s personal IG
They do all follow the Matildas account though. Regardless, acting like they have done nothing is silly. It’s well documented that they have a team group chat, surely there are discussions happening. Regardless though it is disappointing to see that no one (not you, Mac and Michelle. You’ve done well) has posted or commented. They need to do better. Whether they’re friends with her or not does not matter. They’re teammates and that in itself is enough to mean they need to show support. Particularly the leadership group of Sam, Steph, EVE, Ellie. That said we don’t know what has been said in the group chat(s) so there’s no point villainizing everyone
Da Still looks shit tho doesn't it? All those players been in the public eye long enough that they should know the process of showing bare minimum support to at least appear like they care about a teammate. And it's not like none of them have been online either, many of them have been posting as normal. Just leaves a bad taste and imo there's no excuse. I just hope they aren't getting too big headed and think they don't have to acknowledge a less established player because they deem them as less important.

Go ask in their thread, that’s why it exists. That discussion (if there is a discussion to be had) is off topic in here now that they have a couple thread
I'm reading the Caitlin/Katie thread and it looks like Katie is wearing an irish engagement ring but I'm not sure. That's why I'm asking here
It’s off topic here, ask for clarification there if you need it. Couple talk about the ones who got thread is literally not allowed in here now. It’s in the rules of their (and the Ellie/Daan one too) thread.
DA The mod actually said big things like engagements, weddings, kids, break up could be discussed outside the couples threads. A simple no to the original post rather than being triggered by and making an ordeal about something "off topic" would have sufficed.
Rules copied directly from their thread since you need a refresher apparently:

Yes I was surprised by this! Felt sad as most other players who do their ACLs get quite a bit of support from their teammates. I know she is relatively newish to the team but still?
Who's she closest to in the squad?
da. seems like wheels, torps and charli mainly. maybe teagan and ellie too.

Yeah, agree with this about her closest friends in the squad, but also agree with the other anon that at least the leadership squad should be saying something about it (and none of them have). Good on Macca and Heyman.
DA Things like this show part of why Macca was made WH captain this season. She's a good egg and has matured and got a good head on her shoulders these past few years.

Here come the excuses...

Players interact with the main matildas account all the time for things like this! They ALL reposted the matildas account's post about Sam doing her ACL to show support. Not every player makes a post on their own account when they have this injury either. Some only make a post weeks later when they have surgery because they might not have felt like getting on socials to make a post right away.

Like someone else said this isn't the first time people have noticed players and especially leaders within the group dropping the ball in this department.
