Who are 'these' players exactly? Name me some names who are 'targeting her' other than Carter who has been a known psycho since forever
I don't know why Carter is even back in the WNBA. I don't think she has mature one bit and having a coach that backs your behavior definitely won't help.

CC is being guarded more aggressively but I don't think she's being targeted. The goal is to win a game, so of course to win you have to stop your opponent's best player and that happened to be CC. I think as she get used to the WNBA, she'll find a way around this.
Yeah she is 100% being guarded more aggressively than other rookie, but if anything that’s a compliment to her and how good they know she can be lol I’m not sure how people are considering that “targeting”

Teams are also being more physical with her because they know that’s the best way to knock her off her game right now. She already said one goal this offseason is to put on more muscle because of it.
da
It's semantics. If every team goes after one player harder than any other, is that considered "targeting"?

All the hard bumps/fouls/non-fouls take their toll. They're slowly killing their golden goose.
DA

Exactly right. I don't think this is what people are tuning in for, and if it's what we continually see people will tune out.

If someone did that to Steph Curry it would be a suspension. The NBA is smart enough to know this kind of shit doesn't sell tickets, and it doesn't benefit them in anyway to see their star players targeted this way.

It's all about putting Clark in her place. We'll probably never know for sure if it's an age thing (vets vs rookie) or money/attention thing (Clark getting more than she "deserves") or a race/orientation thing.

Why these players can't just admit that yes they're targeting her? Like it's pretty obvious now. People will stop watching if this shit keep going on. I predict the ratings will drop after olympic break.

CC has to disappear for a few months.
I already said she needs to drop WNBA and just play in europe. Those petty bishes won't stop until she got serious injury.
They won't guard her in Europe? Can you just admit Cc didn't preform up to the high expectations. Wnba players are great at their job?
Again, the expectations being placed on her by her own fans and media have done her a huge disservice because anything under 30 points a game is her “underperforming.” Thinkpieces about her being a bust for her 10 TO game, but crickets about Arike, an all star, doing the same thing 2 days ago.

The numbers she’s put up would be excellent for any other rookie PG on a terrible team with their first 11 games in 20 days. But since people deemed her the “savior” of the league, she’s being labeled as underperforming.

Re: WNBA - Part III

The gaslighting already started yall

"minor bump"

"They won't guard her in Europe?"

It's the same shit. They won't acknowledge the problem. Just pretend it doesnt exist.

Not CC already 2nd in assist lmao
4th if you look at it per game instead of totals but still very impressive for a rookie who is supposedly having such a disappointing start to her career
It would be so much more if her teammates could actually make their open shots and layups. It's pretty impressive
That's a great point. Her assists would be way higher if she had half decent teammates.
That’s what I meant earlier when I said it would be interesting if Clark made the Olympic team to see what would happen if she had teammates that could catch better, shoot better, and set screens better (or at all). Clark might still have some shooting issues or some TOs but I think she’d excel in passing and facilitating plays.
The expectations on her have been so insanely high that they’re overshadowing what really isn’t a horrible start to her career. Definitely needs to get her shot back and work on the TOs though.

A rookie getting guarded like she does, with one of the highest usage rates in the league already, on a bad team with the toughest opening schedule, there is a lot on her shoulders before you even account for all of this off the court stuff.

Still hope she doesn’t make the Olympics though. The rest will be more beneficial to her than anything, she wouldn’t get many minutes in Paris anyways.

WNBA media have their heads in the sand.

Truly pathetic.

ESPN Host & Talking head: It's a dangerous, false narrative to suggest CC is being targeted and other players are jealous.

Angel Reese: Announces in press CC shouldn't get so much attn, and she herself deserves more praise. Also jumps up to applaud teammate who cheap shotted CC.
Reese jumping up and praising Carter was so stupid on her part. That’s just putting yourself in a lose/lose situation by inserting yourself into what everyone knew would be a shit storm and adding to a negative situation. She wants to play both the villain and the victim.

She sure enough didn’t do that in the LSU/SC scuffle. She took one look at what was going on and sat her ass down while her teammates ran off the bench to either join in the fray if need be or help break things up. Which Reese taking herself out of the situation was the right call.

yeah the gas lighting pretending this isn't happening makes it all the more real and concerning.

WNBA has lightning in a bottle handed to them on a silver platter, and this is what they choose to do with it. Makes everyone involved look weak, TBH.
The more ESPN and WNBA trying to spin it as "fALsE NArraTiVe" the more people will see through the lies

what is truly pathetic is your stupidity + lack of comprehension when hearing + reading comments but please stay going off since you enjoy sounding dumb in front of the class
DA you clearly don't have any other arguments. People have eyes and brains. You and WNBA can deny however you want but the reality have already been seen by the public.

I don't think the wnba is going after CC. Her fans expected her to come in a never miss a shot. That's crazy ,she's a rookie. Just last week they were racist towards Ali Boston. The foul by the Chicago player was dirty play yes.
We all didn't start to watch wnba because of Clark. I personally got league pass to watch Angel and Cameron Brink .

They talk about the foul like it sent cc to the hospital or something, it was dumb of her to do but we seen it many times in all levels in basketball
I fucken hate this bad discussion, I stop listening to them , and I bet cc hates this talk too
I wish I agreed with you, because there's nothing better than settling your differences w a good competition.

Clark is being targeted and the targeting is being applauded and justified.
da right? the way most people trying to dismiss this reality is very concerning. I mean I get it if it's only the toxic fans, but it's the players who are publicly showing their intentions and actually acting on it.
