Awww how nice! Glad they were able to go away for a bit. Though I guess they still have a little more time off, Daan isn’t joining her national team until July 1 I think it was reported and Ellie doesn’t have to be at hers until July 1 either. Love the pic of both of their rings

So they were either deciding between venues or doing a walk through of the venue they chose. We know from the podcast with Sam that the venues they had toured are in the south of France, so both must be back in France

I don’t think it means they are together now. Daan had that bag for this past international break, you can see her with it in Lieke’s last game video. And the card in her Instagram story says she was flying from Amsterdam to Lyon. So if they are going somewhere it’ll likely be from Lyon to wherever.

I don’t think it means they are together now. Daan had that bag for this past international break, you can see her with it in Lieke’s last game video. And the card in her Instagram story says she was flying from Amsterdam to Lyon. So if they are going somewhere it’ll likely be from Lyon to wherever.

Putting on my sewing nerd hat for a moment - though it doesn’t make this any less exciting. In the bridal shops Instagram story they said Ellie was at her Toile fitting. A toile is a mock up of the dress made out of a cheaper fabric. It’s the basic shape of the dress without any of the intricate details. They do that to get the sizing right before they actually start to make the real dress since the fabric for the real one is usually expensive. So her bridesmaids didn’t see her real dress yet! Just the mock up. But that reaction from them does tell you it will be quite special. She’ll have to make her way to them in person two or three more times before the wedding for fittings as it’s clearly a custom gown

Pretty sure this assumption is correct. We know they’re in off season. We know Ellie just did some wedding and sponsorship stuff in Aus. We also know she said she was heading back to Europe for vacation in that Sydney Morning Herald article about FIFA scheduling. We also know Daan is skipping the two June camps with the Netherlands. They’ll definitely be heading somewhere if they’re not there already

What makes you think that? She very well could be, but the Guardian article where Ellie spoke about scheduling and it being a lot mentioned that she’ll return to Europe and go on holiday. That could have been a guess from the journalist though

Lmao her bridal party prob worked overtime to get her to do it and she still has momentum

She did mention in an interview she will go on a holiday when she gets back to Europe though so there will prob be a photo dump from that too!

Eeeeeep!! Things are starting to happen and it feels real now, so exciting. I wondered why Ellie didn’t have a bride pair of those cute sunglasses but it would appear they were in the bridesmaid gift boxes so it makes sense she doesn’t. Not the point of this post but I wonder if on the other side Daan is doing wedding stuff with her bridal party. They’re likely mostly if not all from the Netherlands and I bet Lieke is one! But on topic to this post, it was a good interview. I wish I had thought to share it here at the time. Really speaks to their friendship over the past decade.
