Page catching .....so many pages since the final day of the WSL.
90% on Leah
5% on Jordan
4% on Viv and City being shit
1% on Chelsea winning it.
Can't even discuss football.
Seems like most lesbians do not want Chelsea to win. I'm not even a Chelsea fan but I say they deserve it.
Not me. I'm a Liverpool fan, delighted that we finished 4th. I actually think Chelsea deserve their league title. I would also say it's a hard fought title. If only City did not lose to Arsenal, they would have won the title even with a draw with Arsenal. Having said that you can't deny Chelsea burning desire to fight back . 8-0 vs Bristol and 6-0 vs Utd.
Chelsea was without all their forwards for period of time, played more matches than any WSL teams and they survived. City was without Shaw for the last games and they can't survive. City within Shaw is still a good team. So yeah they bottled it.
People do not want Chelsea to win the league because of Hayes' comments on player/coach , player/player relationship. Well her 12 years achievements can't be denied just because of those comments.
She is the best WSL manager ever. Yes she has a big budget unlike Matt Beard but so do Arsenal and City. Hayes fought for better mental care and medical care for the players. Fought for pregnant players too. She had to be tough against a male dominated management in the WSL. Skinner, Beard, many male in the WSL business respect her so I say she should push Jonas harder. Or slap him on Miedema behalf. She also spoke up for minority players and recruited them. She ought to be supported by women.
My 2 cents worth. Sorry for the long essay
There’s not that many Chelsea fans on here, I reckon there’s about 3 or 4. Arsenal fans and whatever agenda they have at the time dominates the board *shrug* that’s just how it is.
My 2p.
I’m amazed the team won the title, I thought City had it after the loss to Liverpool. I still can’t believe Blackstenius’ goals, their timing, though GT’s tactics in the 2nd half contributed to their downfall. After that I felt (almost) confident Chelsea would win, on experience alone - a lot of the players had been here before unlike City’s and the Man U result showed that.
But I think City’s 2nd position was due to Bunny getting injured, if she wasn’t they would’ve had more goals against Villa and possibly Arsenal too.
Judging Emma’s performance - I think the best bits of this season were:
1. The integration of new, young players. Nusken is my player of the season, without her and her ability to play damned well in many positions the injuries in Jan/Feb/Mar would’ve been too much to surmount, HH was only in goal for about 1/2 the season and was great only blot was the Liverpool match, ABJ’s goals and even Maika’s goal against Spurs was vital.
2. Her development of pre-existing players. It was really, really satisfying to see Carter as PotM vs. Barca considering she had such a torrid time against Barca in the final we played against them. And to see Charles and Cuthbert flourish in their new leadership positions - all 3 were vital this season.
3. Her management of the team to keep getting results despite all the injuries. Yes, Chelsea has lots of players but that was 2 acls to our no 9s, hamstring injury meant we barely saw their replacement and the defence had to get patched up cos of Bright’s almost season-long injury and her replacement’s injury. Also her management of Macario when injured and starting playing has been notably really good.
