She'll probably work on a couple of things while still here, make some of that money from the expensive trip back, and spend some time with family before flying back.

Could be that Kirsty flies out to aus after the first lot of Scottish games for a couple of weeks for a break before she heads back into Scottish camp again anyway. So instead of spending their 2 weeks off in Europe they might do the opposite and be in aus together. For those playing in euro qualifiers like Kirsty, Katie, daan etc they will finish their July window a week ish before the Olympics starts so as long as their clubs don’t want them in pre season straight away they should be good to be there during the matches. Think I saw somewhere Liverpool start pre season on the 22nd July but assume different schedules would be made for internationals.

Oh wow, that seems so ridiculously early! The Olympics haven't even started by that date, and with the July international break it doesn't seem like the players get a whole heap of time off. Arsenal and Chelsea have their USA pre-season camps, and the games being around the 19th of Aug, so guessing they'll be there maybe a week or so before? Not that I'm expecting our Aussie girls to be a part of it (or at least that's what I'm hoping). It would be hard for both teams though because quite a few of their squads will competing at the Olympics.

Agree with all this. I reckon the Europe players may spend a week with fam, decompress with family after their long seasons, and then as has been said, pop off back to Europe to go on holidays for a week with their partners (although now that Macca and Kirsty have just spent a week in Greece, Caitlin & Katie and Ellie & Daan are the only two that spring to mind). EVE and Torps are in-season so guess they'll go back to play in games. Same with Polks.

Looking into what they did in Tokyo (baring it mind it was Covid, but still think it'll be similar) they had a transition camp in Sweden that started a month before the Olympics did, and then 2 weeks out from the Olympics they flew to Japan for their final camp and had one last game against Japan.

Applying that to this year. A month before the Olympics is exactly June 25th, which is nicely a Monday. So potentially 2 weeks somewhere in Europe and then they'll move to France for the final 2 weeks before their first game, and line up one last prep game against one of the Olympic teams in the FIFA July window (just prob not the US, Germany or Zambia).

My friend just messaged me from the Panthers Cronulla match. As they were leaving they ran into Mary Fowler in the car park by herself. Said she was super sweet and took some pics with her young daughters and spoke to them for awhile. They said how they were planning to buy her Barbie and she was excited by this and hugged the girls.

It was frustrating to watch last night her be pushed out so wide. She was often hugging the touch line, while Viv and Cloe were given more freedom on the RW to drift inwards. She has so much more confidence with the Tillies because she can get centrally and create those chances.

She was a standout for me on the pitch. She is sooo fast and her ball work is insane to see in person. Arsenal just don’t have players in the box ready to score the goal. So many times the ball ended up at someone’s feet and they didn’t attempt a shot, or just entirely fumbled it.

Agreed. Every time she got the ball, she was able to move it forward and into the box. It really frustrates me that she is constantly only on the wing and never moves more centrally when she plays for Arsenal, at least this season. This was not an issue last season.

I would most definitely not be judging foords performance last night when playing jet lagged under Jonas lol. She’s a star for the national team, will probably score in the China series. Foord, raso and Fowler shine when they put on the Australian shirt. The huge support going into this tournament shouldn’t be underestimated at all. When you get the love you deserve it pushes you to another level.
