Can we talk about Mearps yet? Surely we’re in the Hampton era now. Earps not been at herself all season
Each of our 3 keepers has their own flaws, it’s hard for me to straight up pick one. Though I do think we need to start playing Hampton more now and building her up in that squad, because Earps time seems to be coming to an end sooner than thought.
da. what would you say each of their flaws are??
Earps : game is heavily dependent on the day. She’s not a consistently 10/10 GK.

Hampton : set-pieces.

Keating : height + reach, can be very exploited if a team did so right.
But why should Earp's gk days come to an end any time soon?
She is just 31.
Look at Ann-Katrin Berger in this regard who is 34 and just moved to Gotham FC in the USA.
Or with the men that Neuer goalkeeper of the Bayern' men's team who is end 30s.

i don’t think that’s fair
No sorry, I love Earps but that is fair. She literally just conceded 6 to Chelsea in UTD’s worst defeat in the WSL. Yeah defence plays their part and all, but she’s still the goalkeeper. And then she could play next week and pull off a world class performance and show why people were calling her the best in the world. She’s 100% not consistent.
Not sure Earps could have done much about any of today's goals tbh. Turner was ragdolled all game and MLT was also not great.
Agreed. United's defense has been plagued with injuries for their LB and RB positions this season and it's not necessarily an equal comparison to talk about Earps vs Hampton vs Keating when Hampton and Keating have had solid defenses in front of them this season. Not to mention that Keating has had a few massive mistakes and Hampton was not consistent herself this season and was benched because of it. I would trust Earps over Hampton or Keating in the games against France and I'm betting Sarina will too.
DA x2 people also need to stop completely overlooking the respective defensive lines when writing their hot takes on keepers.

How do you know she was at the villa game?
Is it because of the road trip insta story or is there more to it?
Pagecatching as just got home from Birmingham. I don’t know what Erin looks like. But I can say that Jordan exited Villa Park swiftly, ran round the back of the coaches (out of sight of the crowd lingering at the fence). She literally ran to the area which is secured for player parking and got into a white SUV. Someone was already in the car, they had blonde hair. Didn’t see face - could have been a 50 year old or a 20 year old woman for all I know. Literally just saw blonde hair from behind, from like 100 metres away.

Also, Jordan is not retiring nor is she leaving Villa. She confirmed at open training session she was staying. I wasn’t at this, but know people part of the Villa Women Supporters Club who live locally and were able to attend.
This is all so unnecessary because we already know Erin was there (and anyone who’s been following their schedules the past few months knew she would be) so what car they drove home is so irrelevant
Not everyone follows their schedules and an anon mentioned a roadtrip… chill. You guys want info then someone gives info and then it’s irrelevant. It could have been a family member for all we know. Anon said they don’t know who it was, they just said what they seen after the game. People can make their own minds up but don’t shut down an anon who just posted what they seen. I like to hear about what people see at matches. It isn’t even pushing a narrative. It was simply just someone saying what they saw. Smh. Some of you lot are never happy - you want info/proof and shit but then you decide it’s not what you want? Weird.
DA x2 such unnecessary snark towards someone relating what they saw from attending an actual football match.

Also thanks to the anon who attended the match for their sensible post and setting the retirement troll narrative straight. The lack of sense in those rumours were so irritating for their absolute lack of critical thinking in the first place.

At least they didn't seem as thin as they did in Foordy photoshoot. But they're not great. Also seemed quite big on some players.
Da. They just didn’t seem to fit players and their shapes right. Either looked completely wide and boxy, or too long. On some players even both. Just not a flattering look at all. All the comments i’ve seen on the kits too have been about the shorts.

Arsenal not going to Announce that Australia team till their literally in oz are they 🙄
They were never going to announce it directly after the game. There's like 22 odd hours before they're on the plane. I'm sure we'll hear something throughout Sunday.
Sometime Sunday after the men’s game - Monday afternoon, I think.

Leaning more towards the Monday, as they’ll all be on the plane then but won’t really arrive and post arrivals (if they do) till Tuesday or so depending when they left (which i’m guessing will be late Sunday).
Whenever they post it, they'll have it scheduled for prime Australian engagement. It won't be a random 3pm post as that's midnight in Australia. The two posts Arsenal have posted about it (announcement and slang video) have been at 8:00am (5pm UK - though this was leaked by an Australian newspaper 12 hours earlier) & 6:20pm (9:20am UK). So squad announcement will be similar.

Sorry if this has been brought up again and discussed, but before the Arsenal v Brighton game it was discussed that the girls could potentially be at the Men's game and present the Conti Cup at halftime like they did last year. Do you think this is still likely after they had the Cup at the game today?
They had the cup at their last game last year too, doesn’t really mean anything. And tbh we didn’t even hear about them being at the men’s game until the day of last year either.

Personally I think it’s extremely likely they’ll be there. Not just because it’ll be a repeat of last year with them having their trophy. But also because of the fact that the men could possibly win the league tomorrow. (Tbh even if they’re not there as a club, i’d imagine most would go anyway).
Thanks! I couldn't remember if they had the Cup at the last game of last season too or not. I too think it's likely they'll be at the game, especially with the men having a real chance of winning the league.

Now that the season is over and won, I think it’s fair to say Arsenal have actually had a better season than City have. Maybe unpopular opinion but idc lol.
I don’t think that should be an unpopular opinion at all. I’d honestly say that’s the facts lmao.

Arsenal didn’t lose to a top 3 club, did the league double over City, picked up silverware (even if it is Conti Cup), and got Champions League qualification.

I’m not saying Arsenal had a great season either btw, because they still underperformed and should’ve been in that title race until the last day too, should’ve been in Champions League, etc etc. But they still have had a more successful season than City now that it’s done, doesn’t matter that City finished 2nd.
Yeah agreed. Arsenal finished 3rd instead of 2nd, but I would rather finish 3rd with that than 2nd with nothing. They had the better season.

Earps is often shit for United but performs much, much better with England. As long as she is still performing well for England, she'll be the starter. Although I could see it being a situation if Earps ever gets more long-term injured, Hampton comes in, does well, and takes the spot permanently (kind of what happened when Roebuck got hurt and Earps came in and Roebuck has never really gotten a look in since even when she got healthy again).

their previous highest loss was 6-1. so yeah, technically though they conceded the same amount of goals, this is their biggest loss now. because they didn’t score, so the difference is -6 goals.

Sooo with Littles family there, is this it? or are we getting another season?
If anyone would walk away witout the reception - it would be her and then do it at a later point...
i imagine she’d have announced. cant see her just dropping that, even if she does prefer to be low-key.
It actually wouldn't shock me if she did kind of drop her retirement like that, she did it with her international retirement. It was very sudden and done without any fanfare, which is I'm sure just the way she wanted it.
i think the team would really want to honour her though. and i think she’d want that with the team. not so much for the fan fare but to have that moment with them as a club on the final day.
Kim little family was there last year too
Teams usually have a end of season party and invite family/ friends etc so they probably just here for that

Sooooo the media is less diverse than arsenal. NO wonder they never get the tough questions on the topic
You're surprised by the media bias for Chelsea? Lols
