Clark getting double team every damn second, she is being chased like never before. Has this ever happened to another player before? She can barely breathe without someone around her neck
I mean it's expected right? The coach should knew this and use it for their advantage? How dumb is she if she didn't predict that Clark would be double team and rough up by opponents?

Yes, multiple, Plum would be the best example, her first few years were not pretty because she tried to play how she did in college. Clark makes it worse because she is forcing things and allowing teams to swarm her because they know she is either going throw up a bad shot or try to force a pass that they can pick off. Best thing at this point is to take the ball out of her hands on offense and allow Wheeler or someone else be the person running the offense and let Clark learn how to read defense at this level how to slowdown and not force things.
I feel like they have already taken the ball out of her hands quite a bit.

Oh idk that they're that close/friendly with each other. Kinda sad about them not being friends anymore. Anyone know what the fight about?
Don’t think it was a fight so much as just growing apart and not seeing each other every summer anymore after aging out of USA basketball youth teams. CC and Azzi had a nice moment after the Final Four which I don’t think would’ve happened if CC and Paige had some sort of big falling out.
Idk they're so cold towards each other, more in Paige side than Clark. I think it's more than just "growing apart." HVL and Clark are not that cold with each other even though they're never that close and with media trying to pit them against each other. Hell even Clark and Reese are much more warm towards each other now lol something definitely going on
da lol I also noticed that at first I thought they never been friends from the start but apparently they did?

Even the paige stans in other forum didn't even deny that paige probably mad or jealous over clark popularity. That's why azzi still cool with clark lol she probably thinks that a bit immature

this team is just bad
and boston gurl idk what u did offseason, maybe too much tv time for u idk
Paige stans said they have a beef or something. They stopped being friends when CC got more popularity.
Interesting you brought this up because just saw this run across my TL.

I think CC needs to hire her own sport psychologist. She needs to have better body language. And yes she should play in Europe even to just getaway from all the madness. But idk if her endorsements would allow her?
No, she needs a break from basketball after the season.

 Not gonna lie, when they showed her and Jen in the crowd I may have shouted at my tv for them to jump the little barrier wall and shove their way through to take over.

Bluder isn’t a good coach she wouldn’t do better you can’t win playing the way Iowa did in college in the WNBA. The Fever were given the worst schedule to start the season it should get better after game 5
It was a joke. Although, I do think Bluder was the right coach for Clark to do her thing. I’m not sure Sides is yet. Her comments on Clark shooting and having her rooted in the corner give me serious doubts. And it’s not just Clark, Boston feels all kinds of off as well. There’s got to be better ways to get the ball to her than whatever this has been. It’s still early and they’re starting by playing insanely tough teams, but it’s also pointing out all their flaws. If they’re still this bad come mid-season it’s going to be bad news for Sides.

Mercury, Sky, and Sparks all feel like they’re working with something that can catch on. They still have some flaws and improvements needed but right now it feels like the Fever are in a deeper hole. Waiting to see Mercury, Sky, and Sparks take on the tougher schedules and for the Fever to play a somewhat lighter schedule to see how they all fair.

Is there a rule against one team getting 3 consecutive #1 picks?
No. The Aces did it a few years back, though they were still in San Antonio when they drafted Plum.

If they get the first pick again, that's 4th lottery pick in a row for them. And they'll still be horrible.

People keep saying Caitlin is bust or not as successful as the other rookies, but she is also being guarded and more intensely focused on than others. All the other rookies are not getting the level of defense as Clark. And Clark’s team at the moment doesn’t have the same chemistry as the other teams yet.

Indiana without Clark is a deadbeat team. They can't even score on quick counter. Clark alone won't make a difference to this horrible team. On top of that she now has a taste of how strong and fast WNBA is. Coach is also clueless and can't adjust.
also boston looks like she a college player wtf she on horrible form
Da. Yeah ahe really looks out of shape.

If you're Lin Dunn when do you start to panic?

I'd fired the coach after she said CC should take more long 2's.
You don’t after 2 games, no one who watches the WNBA thought the Fever were going to be good. If it is July and the team is still playing lost then you have a conversation.
Yeah but "take more long 2's"??
That's crazy.

It's either the system (coaching) sucks or the other players sucks or CC sucks. Or all of the above?
Coach isn’t great but you need to get Boston and Smith going to help the guards. Clark will settle in but she needs to focus on facilitating and let the points come to her over trying to force it. Also she is letting the refs get to her.

Re: WNBA - Part III

the defense is Swiss cheese, they are not efficient in attack and the players are not that tall... it's gonna be hard for them

Indiana Fever is horrible
How is Iowa the better team over the Fever? They’re trapping Clark with double teams but there’s no one coming out to help or to get open. And they can’t catch. That was supposed to be the one thing that was going to be better from college. They pass it more to the other team than they do their own.

And Clark’s threes are really struggling. Not really sure what happened but she started going cold after she made the Maravich record.

Not even ESPN2? WTF, Cathy?!

How does Caitlin Clark’s WNBA salary measure up in sports? An analysis shows big gaps
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/549113 ... =twitterhq
The base salary for a contracted player in the Professional Pickleball Association is $75,000. [...] Ten players in the Professional Bowlers Association made more last year than Clark’s rookie salary. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association featured 25 bull riders whose paychecks exceeded $76,535 with the top-ranked rider making nearly Clark’s entire four-year contract worth ($338,056) in 2023 from National Finals Rodeo earnings.
[...]
Consider the NWSL’s new broadcasting deal that pays $60 million annually compared to the previous amount of $1.5 million, which helped increase the salary cap 40 percent from 2023 to 2024. Now multiple players’ contracts pay in the high six figures annually and are valued at seven figures over their lifetime. No WNBA player has ever signed a million-dollar-plus contract.

That million dollar barrier may fall before Clark signs her next deal. And yet her salary may never reflect what other stars get in similar positions without a significant change in the finances of the WNBA.
