Teams are in for Syd v CCM. Kick off is in 30 mins.
Oh, is this not on 10? Only paramount?
I'm watching it on 10Play. 1-1 at halftime.
Thanks. Found it in the end. Good goals to both teams.
Great crowd of over 7,000!
Two big missed opportunities for Sydney in 2 minutes.

anyone else's crush on Macca just continuing to get bigger and bigger?
I like how Macca and Kirsty is not hyping up their relationship in SM but keeping it normal. They look cute together.
What does that even mean lol? How can you hype up your relationship on SM. They post multiple pictures of each other, is that not hyping up the relationship?
Would also like a better explanation. Who are you considering to hyping up or flashing their relationship? They post the exact same amount as any of our other couples. Or is that a dig at Cait & Katie for their prodirect videos, because lets remembering they're two popular players at a top club in the WSL, no shame to Macca and Kirsty, but they play for WH and Kirsty isn't well known.
Agree, weird thing to say as it suggests others are "hyping up their relationship" and in fact NOT keeping it normal therefore. The only other Tillies players who have posted lately with their partners are Ellie/Daan, Caitlin/Katie, Sam/Kristie, Mini/Clara? All very normal relationships to me. Unless you're talking about Mary/her NRL bf?
Yep, my first thought was that it was a dig at another one of our couples too. Probably someone who complained and is really happy separate threads were created.

You can tell she’s making loads more money now because every outfit costs a fair bit and she’s walking around with about 5,000 on her wrist with that new van cleef. If advertising hair dryers got me dressing like that I’d be doing it too!
If that Van Cleef is the one it looks like then it’s £5,700…sheesh. Does Kirsty have that sort of money or do we think this is a self purchase with macca giving herself a treat?

Kyra back in contention for this weekend. It was good to finally see her back running after the Leicester game. The relief when she's in today's training photos will be massive.

Great news about Kyra, hopefully she can get a string of starts now with Lia still out. They just posted a video with her Russo and Fox.

Big weekend of finals coming up for the A-League and Champions League! What is your match of the weekend? Gotta say, I’m very much looking forward to both CL games, and getting to the Melbourne City v Newcastle game on Sunday. Anyone else heading to either Dub game?

Times in AEST (my Monday morning self is grateful for a 9:30pm Arsenal game).

WSL (Round 20)
Everton (Clare Wheeler) v Arsenal (Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley, Kyra Cooney-Cross) - Sunday 9:30pm
Aston Villa v West Ham (Mackenzie Arnold) - 11:00pm
Tottenham (Charli Grant) v Brighton (Charlie Rule*) - 11:00pm
Leicester (Courtney Nevin*, Remy Siemsen) v Manchester United - Monday 12:00am
Bristol City v Manchester City (Alanna Kennedy, Mary Fowler) - Monday 3:45am
Liverpool (Teagan Micah) v Chelsea - Thursday 4:00am

Champions League (Semi Final, Leg 2)
Chelsea v Barcelona - Sunday 2:30am
Paris Saint-Germain (Clare Hunt*) v Lyon (Ellie Carpenter) - Monday 12:00am

Liga F (Round 25)
Real Madrid (Hayley Raso) v Las Planas - Monday 2:00am

Damallsvenskan (Round 3)
Kristianstads (Amy Sayer, Clare Polkinghorne) v Hammarby - Saturday 11:00pm
BK Hacken (Aivi Luik*) v Pitea - 11:00pm

NWSL (Round 6)
San Diego Wave (Emily Van Egmond, Kaitlyn Torpey) v Bay FC - Sunday 12:00pm

Liberty A-League (Semi Final, Leg 2)
Sydney FC (Cortnee Vine, Jada Whyman) v Central Coast Mariners (Kyah Simon) - Saturday 3:00pm
Melbourne City v Newcastle Jets - Sunday 1:00pm
I know none of our girls are in it due to Sam’s injury but Chelsea/Barca is going to be a must-see game. Sooo good. Also looking forward to Lyon/PSG. Hoping Ellie’s team can get it done! But either way we get an Aussie in the final from that side which absolutely rules.

Would not be surprised if he's appointed tillies coach after Tony.
He is controversial but he is better than Jonas.
When is Tony's contract up? I still think he's an average manager who cost us the loss in the WC semis.
x2
Include a Simon who is not fully fit in the squad to warm the bench when someone younger could have been in.
Not playing Chids when needed.
SF: Tired legs and DM lacking but Wheeler was warming the bench.
Afraid to use younger players

Football Australia need to pay a higher salary to get someone better.
100% he costed us the SF and 3rd place game. No rotation, same old tactics (bomb it long to Sam and hope for the best), using the same old players, ect.
Am I the only one who really doesn’t see the “bomb it long” to Sam narrative anymore…
The reason why he fucked pics he ran the girls into the ground same starting 11 then never subbing even when we were 3-0 2-0 up in two games Steph and cait looked exhausted

After the Olympics it's been reported. Who is available in terms of Head Coaches that we should be targeting? I hope they spend a bit more to get someone good who isn't afraid to bench players when they're out of form.

Why is Joe not well liked?
He is not well liked by players who play under him. Ellie’s fiancée went to Lyon from Arsenal with zero confidence in herself because he wrecked it. She said she went to Lyon completely not believing in herself and her new coach (Bompastor) played a significant role in building her back up. He is harsh. Several Arsenal players wanted to leave because of him and a few (Williamson, Mead, Miedema, probably others as well) told the club if he was renewed they would not stay at the club. He wasn’t fired, but he wasn’t extended as manager even though the club had wanted to. Juve players have voiced their displeasure with him too. He’s an awful choice as Matildas manager or as any manager really. The game has grown beyond needing to tolerate shit coaches
And yet Jen Beattie talks him up at every opportunity, best manager she has ever had. All managers are different, just like players🤷‍♀️
I have such a controversial opinion on Joe. I thought he did a lot more with Arsenal than Jonas despite having a lot less to work with. But that might be more of a criticism of Jonas and his inability to manage his squad and the resources they now have.

The players absolutely hated him by the final season though. As the anon above mentioned, Daan left with her confidence in pieces, Jill Roord let that season too. And a bunch of players who stayed banded together to push him out. The 2020/1 season was chaotic though and there was a lot of infighting amount players, compounded by some players breaching covid lockdowns etc. it was kind of a mess
As controversial as your opinion may be, I completely agree with it. The players (at least some of them) can hate Joe as much as they like, he did much more for Arsenal than Jonas has and I stand by this (but as you also pointed out, it could really just be Jonas' incompetence).

what was the context to this?
During the 2020/1 season, the WSL had really strict rules about covid protocol in order to be able to play. Arsenal players were not allowed to leave the country but three players (Katie, Jordan Nobbs and Leah Williamson) went to Dubai for the Christmas break. A couple of them brought back covid, went to training and then tested positive. The entire team had to isolate and it was reported the other players were really mad at them because they had played by the rules and many hadn't seen their family in ages. Kim Little, in particular was said to be furious. Jen Beattie was in cancer treatment at the time, so there was a layer of serious risk to it as well.

I'm a little surprised one of the A-League coaches wasn't named head coach, but really happy for Emily, Kat & Mel to be appointed assistant coaches - ytg.

But classic LVD having a sook about the appointment.

Would not be surprised if he's appointed tillies coach after Tony.

The 2020/1 season was chaotic though and there was a lot of infighting amount players, compounded by some players breaching covid lockdowns etc. it was kind of a mess
what was the context to this?
