Arsenal won't qualify for the CL this year either and, as always, they'll blame the schedule. But the truth is that this team plays terribly.
Playing like this, of course they won't qualify.
They won’t play like this. ;) Funny Arsenal fan here :D and ofc I hope that we do qualify in the end but lot of things can happen in football. It depends on the opponents and own form and a lot of other factors. I know that we are not good enough at the moment for the squad we are having and I would die to know the reason behind this but as a fan I support my team, no matter what.

At least you can be that the boys are winning when we lose.

I think it’s cause the Arsenal shorts are shorter than most other clubs. Gives the illusion of long legs
Has to be. Have heard of like 4 people meeting Caitlin Foord and being shocked at how tiny she is. Now I want to see it myself as I'm convinced she's as tall as Williamson at least. Has anyone else met her?
i’ve met her and she’s just an average height, at least for me anyway. i was expecting her to be taller but i think most of these players are way taller than they are lmao
Williamson is taller than I assumed. Catley is another one who is pretty tall in person. Foord is very petite, has a smaller frame than most of them I’d say, which is interesting as she is so physically dominant. Can see why she snapped her collarbone all those years ago.
I was surprised at how small Foord was. She and Catley are the same height (1.71 m) but Foord probably weighs a good 5 or 6 kilos less than Catley, there's just not a lot of substance to her at all.
Is this recently? She is getting skinnier and skinnier lately

I believe it is to do with their legs? Like Mead, Kim, Pelova all have short legs so therefore look short. Caitlin has longer legs so looks taller than she is, or at least her shorts are shorter so her legs look longer. Maanum is mostly torso which is why you're confused with her too.

I know what you mean!!!! Some of the players are pretty average height but they look way taller on TV. You know some of them are short - Mead, Kim, Pelova, Fox etc. because they do genuinely look small. McCabe and Foord are two players who are way wayyyy shorter in person. Whereas Maanum is sooooo much taller in real life. I can't work out why this is???

Haven’t met Williamson but walked by her after a game and thought she is way taller.
Williamson is defo one of those illusion ones lol. I think it’s because of a bunch of things, like that she’s often around smaller people, the way she wears her shorts and socks, etc. But mainly she's just got really long legs and her torso isn’t exactly proportionate to that, if it was she’d be taller than she is.

Arsenal are incredibly short, but they don't look it on TV. It's almost like their body proportions look like they'd be tall and then you see them in person and they're tiny. I met Caitlin Foord in Sainsburys once who I assumed was 170+cm like me, and she came up to my chin and was so tiny across the shoulders too. So those who are even shorter like Kim Little must be just over 5 ft.

Agree with the leg theory but I also raise you sock theory - all the "short" players wear socks over their knees, and the suspiciously "tall" players (who aren't actually tall at all) have more skin on show between their shorts and socks.

Ok I have to say it, Arsenal play horrible today, they have so much better squad than other team, they should win easly like 3:0, but it look so bad.. it's like they are playing Chelsea or Man City 😂, McCabe is bad, most of the girls too, but anyway Arsenal fans will be happy with it, because they are only " fans" of Arsenal, because they love or are in love with Leah, Katie or Alessia
The fans (at least the ones that are loud on social media) don’t actually care about them winning or playing well. They do just want their shirts signed and a selfie and to catch a video of them. It’s very what I imagined the American system to be like. Very family friendly. I don’t know if it’s a bad thing tbh. I go back and forth in my head. You’ve got young girls out watching football (many of them queer) building a community. Do they need to be passionate about their team winning? Idk honestly
They only attend the games to make videos of the couples and players they have a crush on and then make edits on Tiktok.
I notice one girl on Tiktok Arsenal " fan" Ali? Or whatever her name is, she has a lot of followers and she was laughing at Chelsea and Emma Hayes( I don't like her) that they lost to Barca, so many edits from yesterday game, many edits of Hayes, but this girl look like she only care about McCabe and Foord oh and Williamson, even when someone say that McCabe played bad or Foord she got angry and when Arsenal lose to teams like Everton she didn't care... only person she blame is always Manu Zinsberger oh and Jonas sometimes, but Foord, Williamson and McCabe could play shit and that's fine....
I don’t think Arsenal fans realize how shockingly embarrassing they look for mocking Chelsea when we were knocked out…last year lol

I think it’s really worth to differentiate between different groups of fans. I‘m an Arsenal fan and I think the young and loud (on social media) fans are doing no harm, they are maybe having not the most profound football knowledge but I just accept them being there. I know that there are a lot of Arsenal fans out there with a lot of ball knowledge and that is fine for me.

DA not related but I don't want Kimmy to retired ever. She is our captain. The best one. Tbh I don't want LW to be our captain lol the fans of her are too much.
I'm not an Arsenal fan nor Scottish but I did think it was a huge shame about Team GB missing on Olympics qualification, which internationally would have been the best opportunity for Kim Little to win a medal. She seems like she's got her head screwed on and is a real quality player.
Kim retired from international football years ago
:$
Ha ha, at least what I said backs up that I'm not an Arsenal fan nor Scottish! Editing to just one sentence - 'She seems like she's got her head screwed on and is a real quality player.'
We actually discussed this recently and there were quite a few Scottish fans a bit annoyed about her. Which I was surprised about at the time but since thought about more. If Lia Walti ditched Switzerland now, or Katie McCabe ditched Ireland now. As their captains as well like Kim was but their countries not performing well. And they put all their energy into club, I could understand people from those countries being a bit upset. I get it now after thinking on it for a few weeks. Just cause as an arsenal fan, I rate Kim so highly I was surprised by the rhetoric.
Eh, Kim was never Scotland's captain though, just the vice captain. Captain has been Rachel Corsie for years. Kim was always more committed to Arsenal than Scotland though, clearly retired internationally as a way of prolonging her club career.

Lmao no. That’s a competitive league

Fara saying Barca were better but also practically saying (without saying) that Chelsea were robbed because of harsh decisions lol
Usually I just disagree with Fara, mainly because of how much of a Chelsea fan she is lmao. But what she said sounded fair to me. Chelsea were better in that first leg, Barca in the second. Chelsea did have some harsh decisions go against them in that second leg too.
agreed actually. like the bias she has towards chelsea is very obvious, but those takes aren’t exactly outlandish.

Everton look like they could eat the Arsenal girls. I’ve never noticed this before. Arsenal a short team? Or Everton a tall team?
I‘m not having any stats with me but it feels like we’re getting shorter (Arsenal). And it looks like Everton is a rather tall team. It’s obvious in this game.

They only attend the games to make videos of the couples and players they have a crush on and then make edits on Tiktok.

lol yeah arsenal’s players on average are quite short. maybe an average height overall when you balance it out with the tall players they do have. but they’re definitely not a tall squad.

Williamson off at the half - no sign of injury.
hoping it’s just a rest thing, like has been said this is pretty much a nothing game so. also maybe for codina to get more minutes? idk. she was alright in that first half and didn’t seem to be injured.
She’s about to be watching the NLD on her phone 😂
Lmaoo
Lol Tbh, every time I see her, she’s frowning so I can’t say if it was planned or not. But I think managing minutes it is most probably.

In your opinion which of Arsenal players will leave after this season/in the summer? I think Stina would leave and I have this feelings that Lia Wälti will leave too
I reckon they’ll have at least 3 spots free up. Maybe 4.

Lina leaving, Amanda will be de-registered, and then at least one other player leaving too.
Why?

The last sentence gave away your poor attempt of trolling. Without it, it would have been quite accurate.

If we weren’t so scared of the Wobbs people, we’d talk more about how Williamson’s career is very closely mirroring another Arsenal legend’s in recent history. I didn’t want to mention it but the fact she’s still got strapping on her other knee is a concern. I reckon she’s pushing through to summer and then there might be another surgery. It’s not ideal cause she’ll be out of the England fold even longer. Just speculating obv

The most dead league
I don’t agree on the league being dead, more often than not the games are quite entertaining.

I just think you can tell nothings really on the line here. Arsenal have already got Champions League qualification and they’re out of the title race. Everton are safe from relegation and also don’t want to press too much and lose the game. There’s just no intensity or desire from either side.
exactly. it’s basically just a nothing game, and you can see how that reflects in it playing out. id think when a goal comes there’ll be a bit more intensity, but yeah.

also it’s a lowblock and arsenal are always quite miserable playing against those lol.
Idk, Arsenal can still surpass Chelsea, really anything can happen. Does this team look like it’s even trying, or have that mentality right now? Or are we just peeping what resorts they’re already following for their holiday

I have never once in my life agreed with a single thing Fara has ever said. She also laughed at the start of the season about Jordan Nobbs getting benched and it gave me such mean girls vibes I never listened to her podcast again. Then Eartha left a few weeks later so I probably would have stopped listening anyway. She must be insufferable on her own

And it’s another nothing game because the Top three typically run away with it so early in the season (especially with United being poor this season) that all games get pretty boring and pointless. DA

She is very private but back in the day, she was open that she had a male partner. They were together for several years actually. However, that same guy is now with Hannah Blundell. Don’t know when they split or why and haven’t heard of Kim’s relationships since and I doubt we ever will, she’s probably the most private and low-key player out of all the big clubs and isn’t into the whole media/pr side of things - she cba with social media either, in comparison to other players or even just the general population. I’m a similar age to Kim and I cba with social media either. I would happily go back to the good old Nokia days but alas, in this world, social media is part of our connection to keeping up with friends etc. I miss the days of calls and texts lol.
Yeah I’m a boring millennial basically.
