CK to PSG seems pretty set now.
Is it regular for English players to go there? I’ve never really followed the club but I feel like if any English players ever do go out to France it’s for Lyon.
no offence, but the french league just seems pretty dead. in the sense that it’s like completely silent, i never really hear anything about individual players from there and there doesn’t seem to be much promo or anything. the stuff i do hear about individuals comes more from their fanbases or countries/country fans.
I've been around for years. The French league has always been that quiet kid who is there but never speaks. You get a handful of high profile players and a handful of high profile matches, but 90% of what goes on seems to fly under the radar. You have to purposefully seek it out. Sounds terrible, but even I, with my two decades of following women's football, couldn't list half the teams in the D1 this season and my attempt to would pretty much just be me recycling my knowledge of Ligue 1 clubs.
But none of this means Kelly is making a poor choice. Because if you compare the number of goals conceded by each team in the WSL vs the D1, then make the same comparison for goals scored, France is a pretty sweet place to go play your football if you're a forward who is coming off a quiet period and needs to hit peak. Assuming she plays regularly, she could rip it up. If she doesn't manage to establish herself... well then we can start questioning if she made a poor choice. I'm sure she will find the experience very culturally fulfilling, but if she was being hindered by riding the bench in Manchester, she will be hindered still by riding the bench in any city at all.
thanks for the info!
& i agree it won’t be a poor choice for her, especially not if managed right.
