I'm loving the podcast so far. Both are so likeable and their bond is incredible. I'm hoping they delve deeper as it goes on.

Plus, Alessia is just so pretty

What does everyone think of Alessia’s and Ella's podcast so far?
I enjoyed it. I was worried it would be a bit awkward with the other woman there to interview them but she fits into their dynamic well and it felt quite natural

I do wonder about the staying power of it - they'll have to run out of old anecdotes eventually
I reckon with their chemistry they could riff off of each other if they were just asked to talk about current goings on in football. Like they work really well with Lessi as the comedy straight man to Ella's offbeatness.
I think they will talk about alot of things they haven't mentioned before in future episodes and get a bit deeper with their answers. We all know the base of their friendship and football careers but no one really knows the depth of it I feel there is alot more to know about them

You can't really argue that Stanway and Walsh have not been a success though, even if yes they should have learnt some of the language by now. Also everyone is different, Kelly might adapt really well.
Bronze has, obviously, been the most successful English player in recent times to go abroad though she tends to throw herself into really learning about the culture and the language.
I'd like to see CK try it, she seems a bit stale at City now and may need a new challenge.
I thought the Bayern coach speaks English all the time anyway? And most people in Germany speak good English.
The closed mind mentality of the English is amazing. WTF should German people in Germany have to speak English to English people who live in Germany ? People from other countries learn to speak English to help when they travel overseas, to communicate with other people in other countries for work or pleasure. The purpose is not to be helpful to English people in your own country who don't give a fuck to learn another language.
da. stanway is trying to learn, she has a german teacher. some people just struggle to pick up new languages.
And the entitlement of the English as well. Don't forget the entitlement.

True.

Still, I think it’s more so the point that English people do still expect other countries and people to just adjust to them and their English-speaking. Whether they’re even bothering to learn or not, they still rely on other people doing that. Whereas you get foreign people coming to England and they don’t expect that whatsoever.
And as this poster points out, the hypocrisy of the English as well. Don't forget the hypocrisy.

DA. No idea on the status of Moore and Potter but oh my god, Harris is either just an incredibly flirty, touchy-feely friend, or she has the most rizz of any women's player. Honestly, there's so many times it's looked like she's dating a fellow player

If it happens, it will not be a success. Parris Christiansen Greenwood and Duggan all went abroad and none were a success. Complete inability to adapt to foreign cultures and learn new languages is the common root of all their problems. Stanway and Walsh both 2 years abroad and can't speak basic sentences in the languages of the countries where they play.

They can win without her, sure. They wouldn’t be in the position they’re in without her though.
More worried about their keepers tbh
I don’t really follow City, what’s up with the keepers? I know obviously Roebucks not an option and I think Sandy’s injured but Keating was fit wasn’t she?

sakina karouchi, psg's left back will renew for next 4 years and play higher up on pitch as per leequipe article so not sure if psg are still looking for a winger in chloe kelly.
CK can play both wings though right? And will add that depth with someone who actually plays forward game in and game out.
Da. Yeah she can, and she actually seems to play primarily on the right for City, so I don’t think them re-signing left beck will much affect PSG going after her.

no offence, but the french league just seems pretty dead. in the sense that it’s like completely silent, i never really hear anything about individual players from there and there doesn’t seem to be much promo or anything. the stuff i do hear about individuals comes more from their fanbases or countries/country fans.
I've been around for years. The French league has always been that quiet kid who is there but never speaks. You get a handful of high profile players and a handful of high profile matches, but 90% of what goes on seems to fly under the radar. You have to purposefully seek it out. Sounds terrible, but even I, with my two decades of following women's football, couldn't list half the teams in the D1 this season and my attempt to would pretty much just be me recycling my knowledge of Ligue 1 clubs.

But none of this means Kelly is making a poor choice. Because if you compare the number of goals conceded by each team in the WSL vs the D1, then make the same comparison for goals scored, France is a pretty sweet place to go play your football if you're a forward who is coming off a quiet period and needs to hit peak. Assuming she plays regularly, she could rip it up. If she doesn't manage to establish herself... well then we can start questioning if she made a poor choice. I'm sure she will find the experience very culturally fulfilling, but if she was being hindered by riding the bench in Manchester, she will be hindered still by riding the bench in any city at all.
thanks for the info!

& i agree it won’t be a poor choice for her, especially not if managed right.
