Idk. I get what you’re saying but that it’s also massively dependent on the environment. If you’re in an environment where that’s not the standard, then you would see it as harder to take that because it’s just not the norm and would be completely different. When you move to a club with a different environment, that one slowly becomes the norm to you and managers calling out different types of things becomes the norm. It’s all very just relative to the current situation you’re in and what’s normal to you at that time.

I think they would adjust, also there is a language barrier and therefore you would have to fight on and off the pitch for your spot.
Also when every position has a top player u are constantly sparred
That’s not the case in the current set up for arsenal and it’s unclear what Jonas actually wants playing wise, cuz it’s not working they’re not getting better or at least not better to compete for the league, just the top 3 right now
I think you can really see Jonas’ lack of proper management is a problem when it comes to the smaller games. Like they’ll beat Chelsea in a final (even if it is Conti cup) or in the league or whatever, but then they’ll lose to Spurs for the first time? Lost to West Ham? The Paris FC knockout is another, but to give that team some credit they did also knockout Wolfsburg and had an alright run. But yeah, there’s just no guidance there and they lose their way against smaller teams. It’s stupid. Yes the players play their part for sure, but it does
stem from the manager here.
Yep, the lack of consistency is a maaaasssive problem. Also the choice of assistant coaches. The tall guy that holds him back when Jonas looses it, he is the set piece coach - how often do we score on set pieces etc… feels like a Buddy gang and not top flight coaches
For sure that guy needs sacking. Horrible at his job. Clearly. Our set pieces have actually been worse this season than last, which I didn’t think was possible.
Also think the decision to get Kelly Smith was a stupid one. No offence. She’s actually only made our forwards less effective, I think. Her style is not at all fitting to the modern game and neither are her ideas. Love her as a player, not as a coach. She isn’t even a completely certified one either and has not coached in the WSL before. It’s showing.
I don’t think Kelly is the problem tho, it’s Jonas way of playing/thinking. His tactics is holding everything back. She works for him ya know. The set pieces… yeah the stats don’t lie on that one
