Chelsea have posted a women's GK coach position as well as an opposition analyst position this week. Did they fire people after the recent results, did people quit, or did they decide they needed to invest even more?!
Literally none of those things at all lmao it is pretty standard when new manangement comes in that they clean out the staff and start fresh. Not always! Lyon are keeping most of their technical staff. But it’s not uncommon and that’s what’s happening for Chelsea

they’ll be cleaning house for new management. both a mix of what those current staff choose, and what the new manager wants.

My unpopular opinion on where Villa went bad this year - Rachel Daly, star player have to keep her. She starts getting annoyed at everyone around her. Which wasn’t fair because Villa actually played well the first few games of the season despite losses. Management panics they might lose her because she’s complaining all the time. This is echoed by every pundit. No one mentions she’s actually not been finishing well all season. So they decide to play a game of all balls go to Daly. Which never works well for any team. That coupled with a crippling bad defence. I think they’re lucky Nobbs still had a couple worldies left over from the Arsenal days in her locker, and could still pick a half decent pass. That and Adriana Leon being able to find bottom corners. Or they could have been relegated. I have seen no one be realistic about Daly this season. All season, all she does is complain and creates little to nothing
I saw her play at Borehamwood and I couldn’t believe how much she complained at her team. She wasn’t exactly doing much herself. I don’t rate Ruesha Littlejohn but I remember her saying in a video that Daly was moody
When things aren’t going well, rach and Kenza are well known for waving their arms around, moaning, the pair need to look in the mirror, but they get a free ride, no criticism! Leon and nobbs been the consistent performers out of a bad bunch 🤣
Yeah it’s kind of accepted when you’re playing well. You’re entitled to a little moan. But better be careful when you start playing bad. Sure people said the same about Earps this season.

There was an old “Guess the Lioness” from years and years ago with Alex Scott and Fara Williams and both of them called Daly moody/miserable (kind of in a joking way) and when Rachel and Millie did it it was also mentioned that Daly had a reputation of being moody.

Da Daly definitely seems to be a bit of a diva at times. Lots of complaining and needs to be the star but unlike last season hasn't done much to back it up.

Viv and Jonas did have a falling out. Where have you been lol?

They literally argued on the sidelines, Viv stormed off back to the bench, she only got a few seconds of play time, then she stormed inside after the game was done.

Now she’s suddenly got a knee injury? After Jonas said she was fully fit for the last game, and she hadn’t even played enough to get injured again? I’m telling you rn that’s a smokescreen, she’s being ‘punished’ and isn’t being included with the squad because of her behaviour in that game. (Which, tbh, is actually fair. An employee would face repercussions from certain behaviour, and we’ve seen even male players face the same thing).

Jonas and Viv have always clashed, Viv’s even spoken on it before. It’s not even the first time publicly either. This is just a final last blow.

yea i’m scared.
I would be shocked if she sat down for an interview with her just to say she’s staying at Arsenal.
Just like I would be shocked if she sat down to tell her she’s leaving. Both things are weird.

Da. I’m leaning towards bad, unfortunately. If she was re-signing then why wouldn’t she just do an interview straight with Arsenal and their team? Why go to someone outside of that?
But who would sign a injured player tho? why would a club bet on her recovery when she hasnt been back in a while? i get it, she was a great player prior to the acl but her issues seems so not heal... is it about money? would she go down in salary to play elsewhere? she hasnt proven anything yet, not everyone comes back stronger post acl
Wonder this too, like the reality is that she hasnt played and that knee seems to be fucked

I don’t follow Villa, so admittedly i’m saying this as an outsider here, but I don’t really get this decision? Yeah she’s not been the greatest this season, but their problems don’t all seem to come from managerial issues. Also who will they even get to replace her?
Villa haven't sacked her or encouraged her to leave so she can save face. Ward is leaving of her own volition.
Why though? I'm actually surprised by this, I was rooting for her to go again next season.

Considering you had Daly, Nobbs and Staniforth joining because they aligned with her vision, do we expect them to all leave at end of contract as well?
Apparently she's taking a step back from football to spend time with her family. Usually that's a total cop out for when someone has actually been sacked, but in this case it seems to be true. Villa have said they tried to get her to stay.

I'm not sure where the players you named would go, really. I don't know if any are out of contract this season. I would suspect they'll just stay and see what happens with a new manager.
I guess if that's what they said. I mean I would agree with Villa, like please stay. But she does have young children still and in an interview she said she works pretty late, so I can understand the shift in priorities. It's a shame though, I was really rooting for her to become a WSL mainstay.

da it's being said that she tried to leave earlier in the season but was at least convinced to see it out, and that she intends to take a break from the game. If there isn't anything in her personal life being a factor in this, she must be feeling pretty damn burnt out. Maybe Villa's poor start was just too much for her, or maybe it's the other way around and her mindset not being right is what caused Villa's poor start. Either way, good for her being able to turn the season around enough to not be a complete disaster and good for her recognising that she needs to step away. So many in the game try to power through and it's never beneficial to anyone.

How close are alessia and Ella do we think? Or is it all for PR, exposure and money?
i think when people hear ‘pr relationship/friendship’ they think it’s all fake and fabricated for the media. in reality, though it can mean that, it can also mean that the actual relationship itself is genuine, but they just push it on social media and online for publicity.

so i do think they are as close as they say and come across, i don’t think they’re faking any of that. but then i also do think that it’s pr, and they do utilise their friendship and how popular it is, for media and publicity reasons.
Yeah exactly. It’s like Alex Scott and Jess Glynne. Do I think they have genuine feelings for the other and are truly together? Sure. Do I also think that they push it for the media, for the attention and the good publicity it brings them? Absolutely.
lol yeah right a multi millions selling artist needs Alex Scott for publicity
I don’t know why that’s funny. She does.

Maybe not in terms of money or getting her name out there, but definitely in terms of changing the stories around her. She’s not been a well liked figure for years now, has had multiple bad news and scandals to her name, other things that have just painted her in a bad light. Most of the people who’ve met her in past years only really ever had negative things to say. It really wasn’t going well.

Now. She’s releasing a new album, and suddenly she’s doing interviews apologising for past behaviour/incidents and talking about why they’ve happened, and she’s also now got a new relationship that’s in the media and directing a lot of the attention too. She’s also tapped into a new fanbase (which was necessary, she’s always lacked that extreme dedicated fanbase most singers have), and said fanbase is loving this new lesbian relationship lol. It is a PR thing. Again, not saying their relationship has no genuine feelings, but they are for sure playing on it for the media.
