The thing is, I actually do think the proper football fans in this fanbase do appreciate Stina. I always see her being talked about well on here, then saying they don’t want her to leave, that it would be stupid if Arsenal let her. Even tbh on the likes of Twitter and Tumblr I see people praising her. I think there’s just a lot of noise around Russo and it can sort of take away the light there and make you think it’s all about her and that fans just like her. When in reality, that’s only true with more so player-stans and TikTok kids.
DA This would have been my take on how Stina is seen by the fans as well. There are actual fans and there are the noisy people on Twitter and TT, I think this is to differentiate.
stina misses way too many chances though some of which are game changing ones. Arsenal needs a better striker. Also, she can't dribble to save her life.
spot on.we need a better striker. but who is out there?

Look mate, Grace is just another friend of her daughter, she could've followed her a long time ago and she didn't, Grace could also follow Amanda a long time ago and she didn't do it either. Why did she decide to follow her after a match in the Emirates? because it's the only place she sees Amanda. Why did she choose that specific day after a year of attending games and sitting in the same area as her? We all know the answer, she has lost followers recently, she needs to get attention somehow. It's not that deep. Move on.

I want stina to leave just so Arsenal fans can see what they had, but since they were all hung up on Russo they missed out.
In another note, what’s the interview that stina did recently for I think a Swedish tv where people were saying she was leaving based on that interview?

random question but if anyone would know it would be you guys. Does anyone know why Eartha Pond left the Boots Balls and Bra’s podcast? I can’t stand NB but looks like she’s pretty much the new co host at this point 😭
Someone here said it's because Fara fell out with Eartha. No other details were given though. And I agree with you it's really bad now I don't bother tuning in anymore. Eartha and Fara had good cohost chemistry on the show so it's a shame.

Its with fotbollskanalen and all she said was threat yeah I’m on an outgoing contract and have a few options.. that’s it but also they she was happy at arsenal.

Other rumors makes is quite clear that other teams won’t necessarily match her salary and that might stop any deals if she wants to make more money elsewhere

Mentality. I don’t think a lot of the players have the mentality to be in a top club like Lyon, Barca or Chelsea. They’ll probably see it as hard and if the manager calls them out on their shit they’re not the type to actually reflect on it.
Idk. I get what you’re saying but that it’s also massively dependent on the environment. If you’re in an environment where that’s not the standard, then you would see it as harder to take that because it’s just not the norm and would be completely different. When you move to a club with a different environment, that one slowly becomes the norm to you and managers calling out different types of things becomes the norm. It’s all very just relative to the current situation you’re in and what’s normal to you at that time.
DA
I think they would adjust, also there is a language barrier and therefore you would have to fight on and off the pitch for your spot.
Also when every position has a top player u are constantly sparred

That’s not the case in the current set up for arsenal and it’s unclear what Jonas actually wants playing wise, cuz it’s not working they’re not getting better or at least not better to compete for the league, just the top 3 right now
I think you can really see Jonas’ lack of proper management is a problem when it comes to the smaller games. Like they’ll beat Chelsea in a final (even if it is Conti cup) or in the league or whatever, but then they’ll lose to Spurs for the first time? Lost to West Ham? The Paris FC knockout is another, but to give that team some credit they did also knockout Wolfsburg and had an alright run. But yeah, there’s just no guidance there and they lose their way against smaller teams. It’s stupid. Yes the players play their part for sure, but it does stem from the manager here.
Yep, the lack of consistency is a maaaasssive problem. Also the choice of assistant coaches. The tall guy that holds him back when Jonas looses it, he is the set piece coach - how often do we score on set pieces etc… feels like a Buddy gang and not top flight coaches
For sure that guy needs sacking. Horrible at his job. Clearly. Our set pieces have actually been worse this season than last, which I didn’t think was possible.

Also think the decision to get Kelly Smith was a stupid one. No offence. She’s actually only made our forwards less effective, I think. Her style is not at all fitting to the modern game and neither are her ideas. Love her as a player, not as a coach. She isn’t even a completely certified one either and has not coached in the WSL before. It’s showing.

Arsenal: many fans of this team think that the girls are the best (you know because they are their fans), but I saw many comments here that the truth is that if these players were in other teams (Chelsea, Lyon, Barcelona etc) they wouldn't make first team there.. so what is your opinion? I mean next season Chelsea won’t have Emma hayes so Arsenal/jonas despite his lack of management have a better chance at winning bigger trophies next season
I really do think next season is make or break for him now. There’s no excuses of injuries or injury comebacks, Chelsea will be adjusting to a new manager and not as stable, we’ll have another shot at the Champions League, etc. If we don’t win the League and just do really well over all, i’d expect him to be sacked. I really do not care if he wins the Conti Cup again, and wouldn’t even care if he manages the FA Cup (ok, I would like to see that, but it’s not enough alone). Sick of going through season after season where people want him out then switch sides after he gets some cheap cup.
Spoiler alert, we finish 3rd. Like we do every year. No new manager, no new players, no amount of injuries ever changes it. I’ve been here a while. Barring 2019 where in all honesty we got lucky at the end of the season and Jordan was running riot at the start, we are a 3rd place team. Nothing will happen to Jonas. Cause he is no better or worse than any other manager. This is just who we are.

No, this is the 3rd time I've checked it. Since she finally follows Amanda. I'm not a creep, I just thought about it again.

That’s not the case in the current set up for arsenal and it’s unclear what Jonas actually wants playing wise, cuz it’s not working they’re not getting better or at least not better to compete for the league, just the top 3 right now

Arsenal: many fans of this team think that the girls are the best (you know because they are their fans), but I saw many comments here that the truth is that if these players were in other teams (Chelsea, Lyon, Barcelona etc) they wouldn't make first team there.. so what is your opinion? Which Arsenal players are quite good and which are overrated?

We can start with the lack of ruthlessness - they don’t have a boss like Emma Hayes that has the balls to tell them they played like shit.
Yeah I agree with this, I like some of the players but it’s not because of how they play. No I’m not one of those weirdos but I don’t watch them and can say that I’m entertained by how they play tbh.
Also to answer ops question about who’s overrated, I think you can gage who’s overrated pretty easily
The only way you Arsenal are exciting to watch play is because you literally never know if they’re gonna be good or terrible. Like there’s no in between. You never know what team is going to show up. I’d rather be excited by our style of play.

I saw here wear the arm band but like, so what? Qatar were so publicised during that World Cup. They would have got so much money for holding the WC. Absolute sport washing. A country that couldn’t hold a women’s World Cup cause most of the players wouldn’t be able to go? Not that they would ever want to do anything to support women in sport. Alex showed where she is when she went, accepted a massive payout. Plenty of women spoke out against it. Leah Williamson was one btw. But whatever, as long as Alex wore her armband and got a photo cred, we’ll ignore everything else.
They can’t think that Alex wearing that armband was even on the top 50 things people will remember from that world cup. It was a drop in a very disappointing ocean. I was gutted she went personally, chucking an arm band on while you’re over there does nothing. Especially when she’s posting Instagram stories the whole time she’s there publicising what an amazing place it is
Agree 100%.

Did Alex Scott do any TV, radio or print reports/interviews either with the BBC who employ her or the vast number of global media outlets who were present around her at the WC about how it felt to be a gay woman in a nation in which homosexuality is illegal?

Or did she not make those stands?

That was her reply to a person in the post.
Why is she wearing it for a photoshoot though? This is strange behaviour even for her. And she’s a gay women that went to Qatar
Agree that this thing here is quite strange.

Don’t particularly agree on the second part though. Personally I’m not even really a fan of Alex’s, but I did prefer that she went out there and used her platform instead of just not going. She’d have been replaced and it would’ve amounted to nothing, maybe a headline or two and then she’d probably have cost herself the job. Better to actually go out and take a stand, instead of staying quiet.
What stand did she take? She was actually pretty quiet
She wore the armband? Yeah she didn’t exactly start riots, but that was still a stance in itself and it actually did blow up like I saw it everywhere for weeks, even after the WC was over. Even had a conversation with my dad about it who doesn’t even know who Alex Scott is, nor does he watch any football, but he’d heard about it in the news.

Again, yes, she wasn’t starting protests or riots and wasn’t matching around with banners or whatever else. But she did still take some stance, which is more than staying home and doing nothing while just letting someone take over her job.
Not sure whether the above post is satirical or not. Assuming it isn't for now.

So you're claiming that Scott A wearing an armband supposedly "did blow up" and that "you saw it everywhere for weeks, even after the WC was over" and that you "Even had a conversation with my dad about it who doesn’t even know who Alex Scott is, nor does he watch any football, but he’d heard about it in the news."

I wonder why neither I (who follow both woso and the news) nor the poster above would have any recollection of this.

Could it possibly be because you're chatting utter crap, the "news" of Scott A wearing an armband didn't blow up, nobody "saw it everywhere for weeks, even after the WC" or even during the WC, and that you never had that conversation with your dad?

Might not be a relevant conversation, but I’ve seen people appear to be a bit annoyed that Alex Scott is wearing a glucose monitor when she’s not diabetic. I was also confused when I saw it on her post, so just thought it was interesting.

maybe. i think katie’s posted there. wouldn’t really wait around to see posts from any more that do go though, at most you’d get like 25% of them posting. we know that the likes of leah, kim, laura, lia, etc will often go to games and not post. leah’s even reshared arsenal’s posts after the win despite being actually at the ground lmao.

so yeah. who knows. safe to say, maybe. lmaoo.
