Elsewhere lol, Bristol City vs Liverpool ended 0-1 to Liverpool so Liverpool now currently sit in 4th. Granted though they have played an extra game over United who are just a point below them. They’ve been doing really well this season though, I reckon they’ll make some good signings in the summer and be better next season (or at least I hope).
I don’t even support Liverpool but it’s nice to see them actually step it up another level this season. Their name alone as a club will help them sign players but especially if they’re doing well. Will be an exciting window for sure.

LMAO. No. She’s overrated. She’s a 5 out of 10. Her face ruins it.
DA You wouldn’t, a lot of others would. It’s okay to disagree on things like that, looks and beauty are subjective.
Right. That’s why I don’t know why everyone gets all up in arms because is said she doesn’t look good here. Are people allowed to have opinions or only ones that are the same as yours?
ok but no one is randomly popping up with posts saying “she looks soooo good here” then replying to them when the conversation has moved on saying she also does look good. in fact if i saw that i’d think it was people baiting to trolls because it just doesn’t genuinely happen anymore, whether people think so or not. it’s weird.
you don’t find her attractive and that’s more than fine, you don’t think she looks good here and that’s more than fine. everyone’s entitled to their own tastes, including people who do find her attractive. but just chill on it.

It’s not about that. It’s about the fact people literally dissect players looks. Like say we don’t have enough pressure on us as women when it concerns our looks. I don’t know people think that’s okay.

literally same here lmao, i’m not really a fan of either teams but was going to keep up on the score and maybe put the game on the tv to watch as a neutral. was getting on with my day when i realised they actually played early and i literally turned it on just after cuthbert scored. crazy.

it’s just how she’s aged, she’s got wrinkles big deal. people age different, and some people get botox and fillers to hide that. leah’s aged on the faster scale and hasn’t had botox and fillers. is what it is. who cares.
She looks beautiful. Towards 30 one doesn't look like 18 anymore. And much depends on the photographer's skills as well.
Bro who gives a f? We can’t always look 100 in every single photo taken. She is still very pretty. Also, she is pushing 30. Why do you expect her to look like a 18 year still ffs.

A glorious prison contract. I'm ecstatic, tbh :dance2: She's even overtaken Toone as the longest contract, in terms of when it expires.
My concern with this is MLT has played really poorly this year. In addition to panicking with the ball and making dumb, short passes back to Earps (which are often intercepted), she has also been making quite dangerous tackles. One day she is going to seriously injure someone and I don' think there is anyone at Man United telling her that she needs to be more disciplined defensively. VAR is going to absolutely f--k her if she doesn't tidy up her play.
Didn’t they talk about this in some podcast recently? About MLT and her impulsiveness.
Counter pressed recently talked about this. Gilly Flaherty was particularly concerned about how MLT has been playing and seemed pretty convinced that if she doesn't sort her shit out she is going to hurt someone pretty badly. From memory, they questioned whether it was related to her being in and out of the NT and trying to earn her spot back is causing some of this recklessness. da
link?

yeah i get that point. kind of like her passion and need to prove herself are making her make that extra tackle and do that extra thing, but in reality it’s just making her more dangerous not more of a good player. i do agree she needs someone to talk to her about it, one of the more experienced and older players needs to step in here.
Feels like none of the experienced players are stepping up to do so
yeah it does feel like that. and i don’t think you can rely on the england girls to do so either, when mlt often isn’t even called up and when she is she isn’t really played. most of those girls aren’t watching united’s games and aren’t paying attention to mlt being aggressive or not, that’s her club teammates who are seeing that. for it to become a country matter and to be completely brought to light to any of the england girls, she’d have to act thatway on the international stage but i don’t think she’s even there yet, she’s not acting recklessly every single game. it’s just the odd few club ones.
But according to some(one) the English players are allegedly aware of this chat. If that was the case, they might also pick up on these observations as well and take those players under their wing that might need a word here and there as suggested. :bulb: :spy:

Da. I don’t follow United so this is just my outside take, and United fans can correct me if necessary. But to me Zelem just does not seem to be that type of leader and captain. Idk, like she’s a constant and consistent one for sure, always in the squads and isn’t exactly a horrible player. But I just don’t see her as some great influential leader who’s stepping in with moments like this and helping guide the younger players.
I would have to totally disagree with the idea that Zelem isn't a strong leader. It's clear from the way the players and manager talk about her. I think she's had to deal with a lot of nonsense behind the scenes and has had to be a strong character to bring concerns of the players to the manager and higher-ups.

These incidents have been against Daly and Ramirez, and someone mentioned Shaw, all of which are dominant, strong, CF's. Maybe she's being told to be more aggressive against those type of players (nothing wrong with being aggressive, just not dangerously so obviously) or maybe that's how she wants to play and to show them that she's 'there' as they say.

I just don't think it's as big a problem as some of you seem to think.

Re: English Football Ladies

by Guest » Today, 08:35

Now that Daly has retired from international duty, who gets her call up spot? She is categorised as a striker but has primarily played at left back under Wiegman. Does someone like ABJ get it or a defender?

Why not Turner?
I just don’t see Sarina bothering with that mess. It’ll inevitably be dragged back up when camp starts, even if it’s just a mention or two, and having the two (LJ and Turner) in camp together will just push journalists to wonder about the environment and everything. Not what we need for that camp anyway with it being our toughest. It makes more sense to take Turner out of the equation to try and defuse things, she doesn’t exactly play anyway and is just an injury replacement player.
Turner was always going to be dropped anyway when Bright was back, and if she’s available for selection now I reckon she’ll pick up minutes before camp and make the squad.
This. Brights apparently valuable to play. Don’t see her playing in the semi finals but will definitely get minutes in the WSL. Turner won’t get called up in the next window.
*apparently available. Why do I never catch the autocorrects in real time?
Exactly. People can try and turn the narrative all they like, and i’m guessing some United fans or LJ haters will try to, but Turner being dropped will have nothing to do with this.
She’s been an injury replacement player and one that’s been called up because of the absences of others, namely Leah and Millie. Next camp we’ll be set to have both Millie and Leah again and so therefore no Turner.

If this is part of MLT trying to prove herself and just not managing it well, then she’s kinda shooting herself in the foot because if anything it’s only hurting her England chances far more than her just playing how she regularly does.
