Same with Mannion. Kinda embarrassing from them, shows that they don’t rate themselves highly enough to be able to get an England call up and that they see Ireland as an easier route to the International stage
As someone whose half Irish, I could never do this. Like Anna, I was born and raised in England. I think you should have the upmost pride representing your country and if you can just chop and change that quick, it's not really showing it IMO, so I'm happy for Ireland to take her.

Speaking of changing nationalities.
Didnt Rosella Ayane use to play for the all the English sides through the ranks, before changing when it came to the seniors?
She does seem like genuinely proud to represent Morroco and has those connections to it. But I do wonder if she changed because she didn’t think she’d get a call up to England, or because she really did want to explore her Moroccan roots and that side of herself. Never really read into it so not sure if she’s spoken on it before.
yeah she did. i remember it’s how her and leah became best mates, and they’ve been friends since. there’s a funny story on it they told once with rosella having an allergic reaction in like the u16s camp or something. she changed to morroco at 25, i think.
Yep, to all of this.

And she has spoken on her decision before, she says she did it for her dad, who was Moroccan, and passed away when she was 13. Helps her feel connected to him and to reconnect with her heritage.
Yeah I do think it’s a genuine thing from her. She’s visited Morocco quite a few times now I think, and seems genuinely proud to represent them. I don’t think it was just some move to be able to play international football.
DA. Please...I mean, please.

Anyone who's played at youth level for one national team then not got picked for their seniors is changing nationality because they want to play football. Of course that's why. She is probably very happy to represent Morocco but don't act like she turned down England to do so.

This isn't a diss, btw. I don't care about players changing nationality. But it's obvious why most of them do it.
It’s true, and it’s seems like it’s worked out really well for her and other players with duel. It happens in mens all the time

I’ve always wondered how genuine Irish players (who haven’t and wouldn’t ever play for England lol) feel about players pledging themselves to Ireland because they’re not getting call ups to England.
Something like 1/3 of the Irish World Cup squad was born outside of Ireland, and at least a couple of them switched over within the year of the WC after Ireland had qualified. If I was someone like Jamie Finn, who is Irish-born and came through all the ranks of Irish youth teams, and was made an alternate for a player who had only switched to play at the WC and had 1 cap for Ireland before the tournament, I would be FUMING.
yep

It’s like how you sometimes see a player who’s quite good suddenly change their nationality to get a call up to a ‘bigger’ NT. Seen that more than a few times in the men’s game, and from players who chose Ireland initially then switching to England when they think they’ve got a chance.

Can’t really feel good on the actual Irish players who love their nation. It’s like people are seeing it as a backup for if they don’t think they’ll make the England squad or a ‘bigger’ NT’s squad. Obviously I doubt it would cause rivalries or something in the dressing room, and I doubt most players would openly say they’re bothered by it. But still, surely deep down they find it a little annoying?
Probably a little annoyed by it on a more personal level, but like you said I doubt they’d ever actually say that.

I’ve never really thought about this. Are they bothered by it, even secretly? Whenever a male player has gone from Ireland to England i’ve never really been bothered by it, but maybe it’s different for the players themselves and the other way around.
oh 100% i think it’s different the other way around. irish people hate england lmao.

same with irish players who are working their way up to a call up to ireland, just to then get pushed further away from it because english players are suddenly making themselves available for irish selection. i’d be annoyed if that was me.

Oh my, someone needs a little self love or maybe just to get laid. You're belief in your own superiority is noted. Also noted is your intense belief that comments on these photos is a personal attack or a slight on you as person. I will go on the assumption you have very little going on in your life or have a deep sense of emptiness cause by what a failure your own life has been. Regardless, I do hope someday to will find someone who will love and tolerate your insufferable personality. Until then, fuck off sweetie.

The discussion in the Australia chat about their girls being fem/masc. Now I'm wondering what do you think about the Lionesses?

Masc:
Daly
Nobbs
England
Bronze

Fem:
Carter
Walsh

50/50:
Leah
Earps
Clinton
Kirby
Mead
The masc list is dumb and off...you must be 12
I'd actually disagree and say this is a sexually repressed old millennial that's never had a gf making this list. If those are their ideas of a masc then lmfao.
X1000 you'd have to be ancient to try and be assigning gender roles to lesbians these days DA
yea they're all 50/50. the mascs list all wear dresses and makeup and the fems are constantly in high end sportswear/athleisure. it's ridiculous to put outdated stereotypes on lesbians. the only people that try to force these labels on others are the elderly who need straight conforming labels to feel comfortable with themselves in society because they're ancient and not comfortable in their own skin.
Dear OP, they are all lesbians who fucks and get fucked. Only difference with them n some people here is that those players are living their dreams and earning $ in their passions. They also have a line of people who wants to date them.
I wouldn't hurl abuse at you but I have to say please don't label anyone.

Some just like to decide who can date who.

Whoever the troll is.... Leah loves her women n it's none of your business who.
It's a beautiful friendship.
I'll never understand why people feel the need to believe that Leah dates with all the women she has by her side, it sucks.
Yeah. If I'm any of those players, I'll just be myself n hug any friends I want. I'll just let my football do the talking. We can't please everyone

Love this pic, but what annoys me is the fact that someone comment there " Lia is with Mariona and they will got married now" like wtf why people need to write some rumors or imagine stuffs? It's cause people said " LW2" " Lia and Leah" " first pic made my day, Wally and Leah together" sometimes I'm sick of this kind of " fans" they played football, we support them, their team etc not their personal life..
Some just like to decide who can date who.

Whoever the troll is.... Leah loves her women n it's none of your business who.
It's a beautiful friendship.
I'll never understand why people feel the need to believe that Leah dates with all the women she has by her side, it sucks.

Thank you Steph u were a great captain for us :goldstar:
Side note, totally forgot her husband is sick :(
One of, if not, the best captain England has had! I don't know how she carried on so long tbh, but you can really tell how unwell her husband is now.

Yeah agreed.
Man united have so many issues going on this has been one of their worst seasons. To be honest I think earps will leave in the summer as for toone she is manchester united through and through. However I do think it is her being with her boyfriend who is located in Manchester too is holding her back from leaving. I think if she wasn't in a long term relationship with him she would have left united last season or after this season. She won't leave as her relationship will break down
Yeah I think Toone is tied to Manchester as long as she is with that boyfriend since he has a kid. I think Zelem will stick with United too (and probably doesn't have better options after the season she's had). Earps is sure to leave as long as she can still line up an appropriate club to go to. And poor MLT needs to leave more than anyone if she can find a club who will play her at RB.
Earps is going nowhere because no better teams either need or want her anymore. Arsenal will get DVD2 or Frohms, even if they have to pay transfer fees for them. They've moved on from Earps. She had her chance and it was blown.
i do agree with this actually. she seemed a little too cocky when it came to handling contract talks over the january window, and most clubs just won’t really put up with that. cant see arsenal going back for her now unless she’s free and willing to be more open to their terms, but even then i still think she’s burned a few bridges and they’ve moved on. doesn’t help that she’s not had a good club performance this season either, and it won’t be helping in keeping other clubs interested. genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up staying at man united tbh.
Yeah agreed
DA. PC-ing and have to chip in here; to say Toone is staying in the Manchester area because her BF is there, and not because of her well-documented love of United, is a bit ludicrous.
She won't leave this season even when the team will probably end with their worst result since re-forming. And there was no way she would have left after last season with how well that went. She played for the team she loves in an FA Cup final at Wembley.

Whether you think it's a detriment to her career if she stays is a different matter, but she clearly loves the club and doesn't actually want to leave.

A note on Le Tissier, she was happy to come to United because she wanted to play at CB. Maybe she was being told that would be better for her potential England career, I don't know. Maybe she thought she was better there than at RB, I don't know.

Again, whether it'll be a detriment to her England career if she keeps playing CB remains to be seen (it does appear so right now), but at some point in the not-too-distant past, that was her preference and choice, and she was happy with it.

Under 23s Lionesses team list is out...so did they just not select MLT or did she decline the spot???
I came to ask the same thing. I assume she has declined but not sure?? coz you would take her over any of those defenders selected
Pretty poor sportsmanship to decline. I can't imagine it'll do her any favours.
Yeah that is super risky to decline because she could potentially burn bridges and not be seen as a team player. I hope for her sake it's just that they concluded it was better for her to have a rest and not worth bringing her in for one or two breaks because she has the potential to be called again for the senior team soon.
