Carter to NWSL as well then?
probably. tbh i’ve kinda thought she was gonna leave chelsea after this season anyway. i doubt they’ll want to do long distance, but then i also think she’ll know moving to the nwsl will massively damage her england chances (it’s not really the same as bronze going there, bronze is a set starter regardless of anything until she physically can’t be).
Why not? It’s the same league lol, both English players.
P.S. Sorry if this has already been asked, trying to catch up but just skimming through.
bronze is already established in the england team, she’s already got her spot. moving to a league that english people don’t really follow won’t really harm her. it’s different for carter who is trying to establish herself and earn that consistent starting spot, moving to a league where she won’t really be kept up with or watched will harm her chances, especially with the depth in the centre back position.
Exactly. And the last thing you want to do when you’re trying to prove yourself is to take yourself out of the equation. No offence but going to NWSL for Carter would do that, literally an out of sight out of mind type of thing. For players who have already established themselves, like Daly or Bronze, it’s a different matter, but for those trying to solidify their spot it’s possibly the worst thing they could do. Look at Ebony Salmon, she apparently was playing well in NWSL but no-one really knew lmao and she wasn’t getting picked for any England squads even if she was.
Spot on.
