Yeah I’ll be honest i felt it was a little awkward having it “confirmed” based on the way she’s talking - cheer “us” on, there is no way she wouldn’t be in the squad now I guess. But I’d say Tony has had a serious chat to her before bringing her into the squad again, as well as what prep she will do in lead up to the games with a-league being over. Can pretty confidently assume the only ones who are still competing for a squad position are those who haven’t played many minutes in the last few friendlies.
This just give me the ick … she retired now Matilda’s have a massive name and following she wants back in after them not being recognised while she was in the team …not a fan she’s to old look at all the young guns she will not beat in Paris
You sound like an ageist troll. It’s not like she’s been huffing and puffing doing nothing on the pitch. She’s top scorer for club and put in the work during the qualifiers too. Who cares about her motivations if at the end of the day she’s working hard.
She was a ghost in the Mexico game tbf
Most 9s are ghosts against top teams, they just need one or two opportunities. Sam was a ghost in the FA cup final last year, until that one opportunity she buried that won the game. It’s unfair to judge one game. If she’d ghosted UZ then yeah I agree that would be scary going into the Olympics. China will be a good gauge.
The World Cup proved we don't need an out and out 9. Our forwards, especially Caitlin, all stepped up and drifted into the needed central positions. I'm sure that what the US, Germany and Zambia are going to look at more and try to stop, then Michelle being a striker and the focus.
