Tillies fans want to see and talk about our players. It's not a crime. If you for whatever reason don't like a player just ignore chat about them. That's how it's always been here until recently. No one owns this thread so we need to be civil for it to work and some of you just refuse to do that and turn it into a debate/arguing thread which is more selfish than any fan of any couple or Matilda posting something here.
I personally feel like the couple threads have worked quite well. I find myself checking both when there are new updates and it keeps this thread cleaner for other things to be discussed instead of needing to sift through couple talk and fights about couple talk - as we are seeing a (brief, I hope) resurgence of right now. The couple threads have worked nicely for that. I think it’s fair if they’re included in overall recaps occasionally, we are all adults we should be able to handle it

Yes they have worked well when it comes to the minute details and avoiding that being posted here. Still don’t think it’s a crime to include their insta dumps if it happens to include couple pics. They are Australian and on topic. It’s also really lovely seeing them happy and I miss that aspect in here now the couple threads exist. Wish that police troll would just F off or talk to a psychologist about their control issues.

I agree completely! When there’s been a few insta dumps it’s nice to see. Just because one of those insta dumps contains couple pics lol, doesn’t mean it’s off topic. It’s still posted by Cait and there are solo shots. Likewise if Ellie posted an insta dump and it included some pics of Daan. The dump Macca posted had pics of Sam and Kristie, should we not post that too given they have their own thread? Really strange overreaction.

That's because there's some really strange people/trolls here who make it their job to suck the fun out of this thread the way they have other threads. It was never like this before but has descended to this point over a couple of years. I miss the old thread so much where you didn't immediately get jumped over comments being totally misconstrued or people who think so black and white about everything and love to fight.

Or if Lyon lose the UWCL final and the playoff final vs PSG, they’ll be in the league path qualifiers.

Apparently, France is changing this starting from next year, so the UWCL spots will be determined by placement in the league, the regular season.

Yes they’re changing UWCL spots but keeping the playoffs. Who gets the UWCL group spot will be determined by regular season finish separate from the playoffs. So if that were in effect this year, Lyon would get the UWCL group spot and then PSG would get the qualifier spot. The playoff for the league title won’t hold UWCL implications

I think Sam will re-sign for at least a year, maybe with the option to extend, just for rehab purposes and to see how things go post-Emma. That way if she doesn't like Bompastor's system or something like that, she's not locked in for another 3+ years.

Macca I think will ultimately re-sign with West Ham, again, maybe for just a year with the option to extend. Kirsty's contract is also up but she has a +1 in her contract as well. I know West Ham is usually in a relegation battle but it could be different if they bring in some new players, have Dagny Brynjarsdottir back (they sorely missed her this season), Mini back healthy, etc. Macca seems happy there and does seem to be thriving in her captaincy role. And as everyone says, she needs to be in a team where she is the undisputed #1, and she's not going to get that in any other team save for somewhere like Villa (if Van Domselaar leaves and with her injury it's doubtful if she will or not) or maybe Everton if Brosnan leaves (she's better than Ramsey, their backup, and better than Brosnan too, she was beating her out at West Ham when they played together).

Yeah the winner goes to the group directly and the runner up will go to the 2nd round of the league path, so big difference. League path is teams that finished 2nd or 3rd, and they’ll avoid teams like Chelsea/City (whichever one of them doesn’t win the league), Arsenal, Madrid and Wolfsburg thanks to seeding. But could get a team like Juventus, Ajax/Twente, a team from Sweden or Norway and so on. Actually I’m not sure about the rankings of Real Madrid and Juventus. Might both be good enough to be seeded to the upper half. It also depends who makes the 2nd round.

The winner between Reims and Paris FC will qualify for the first round of league path. The same thing, only you have to play more games, knock two teams out to get to round 2. That’s what Paris FC did last year when they knocked out first a Ukranian team and Arsenal in round 1, then Wolfsburg in round 2.

It’s not hate to call out entitled behaviour though, she’s being a brat here. She’s not a good representative either for herself or for Australia with this behaviour and that should be your main concern instead of calling any criticism abuse.

She signed a professional contract with them, they’re paying her a high salary. A contract means both parties in it have obligations. The club invests in her and pays her salary and all the fans spend time and money following the team, so that she can be paid to play. For her to then openly support a rival team and wear their colours, that’s what’s entitled and disrespectful to all who support her and her team. Her part of the contract is she is expected to be loyal, represent and promote her own team. It shouldn’t even have to be said.

Teach your representatives the proper values and code of conduct, instead of getting upset at those who pay her salary. This embarrasing for her, not for the club.

I understand that the narrative around football in England and Australia is very different, so can totally see why some Aussie's wont think this is an issue but let me just say - in England, fans do not mess around with rivalries. It is NEVER ok to wear scarfs, shirts, or any apparel of an opposing/rivalry team regardless of your affiliation with someone in that team. Some of the biggest rivalries such as Liverpool/Everton, Spurs/Arsenal, City/United etc just aren't to be messed around with. KCC can go and support Charli, but to wear the scarf of your teams biggest rival just is not a good look and one that will not help adhere her to the Arsenal fans at all. She clearly isn't being malicious but she needs to be less careless about certain things. Football in England is a religion, people are unforgiving about stuff like that. (not trying to preach to aussie fans here, just explaining why this is a bad thing to do as a paid arsenal player)

Big fan of Kim Little, think she is outstanding and McCabe really impressed me at the world cup so would quite like to watch her play again. Same applies with Pelova but doubt she will be coming unfortunately.

The only ones definitely not coming are the Dutch and English players. And that’s probably a little bit on Jonas. He sent Pelova and Miedema to their must win Olympic qualifier final games injured. But then Pelova played the next game. KNVB won’t be keen to do him any favours and I don’t blame them. Sarina already said the English girls aren’t going. Everyone else is fair game

Kim Little will probably go! She retired internationally several years ago so doesn’t have Euro qualifiers. McCabe might go too but Pelova and Mead definitely aren’t going

Someone posted here a couple pages back that it won’t be announced til after the Brighton game on the 18th (guessing on the Sunday maybe as they get on the plane).
