Van Edmond about to get her second yellow..red card!
Surprising EVE did not get the second yellow despite a high studs up kick to a players thigh. Still she gave away the ball SO often and it made me so nervous to watch knowing she’ll likely be playing the olympics. Her passes are just so slow and relaxed they get intercepted incredibly easily.
We need to move beyond EVE. Still surprised she got named one of the VC's.
She’s excellent with media and as a locker room presence though, many of the girls have said so. However that being said, as another anon said one of the VC’s won’t be such anymore when Sam comes back. I think we can all work out which one that’s going to happen to (spoiler: it’s not Ellie)

It’s not super surprising when you consider the fact that Sam being back eventually means one of the VCs gets dropped from the position when she returns. Not hard to work out which it’ll be

Nice article about macca done whilst she was in the US for training camp recently. Talks about her change in mindset the last year, how she struggled with confidence, a bit about her and Kirsty, the book deal and moving forward into the Olympics.
Excited to read her memoir. Love that she found this confidence in herself again, she deserves everything.
Top class human, deserves all the good things!

Agree she’s playing terrible today…
She’s been shocking for awhile.. her gf deserves a call up I think
She's not at international level atm.
I'm at the game she looked very average.

Lol. Just walked passed Michelle Heyman walking into AAMI. She was just so casually walking in. Someone was behind filming her on their phone, was with her by the looks of it.
Random as. Maybe a new deal ahead of the olympics? Especially if AAMI are sponsoring the broadcast.
Lmfaooo wait do you mean the stadium?! I stupidly thought AAMI business headquarters hahahahahaha wow
Hahahaha. Yess the stadium 🤣. She was accepting her award at halftime.

Speaking of the China friendlies, who do we think could be an inclusion for the games to replace Amy, and Mini. Does Sharn keep her spot? Does it open a chance for Chids? Chloe? Would love to see Galic included again and not just as a train on player. Watching her play live last weekend was beautiful.
Em Gielnik gets a call for sure I think. Sharn might keep her spot for depth but these are the last games before Olympic crunch time, not really the time for train on players to be given better looks. After the Olympics I would love to see Daniela get called up as more than a train on player though. As for mini replacement I would guess Chloe if she’s healthy again. He doesn’t seem to rate Chids
I was only thinking midfield, but yesssss for me Em needs to be called up again!! We ended up with only 21 for Mex, so other than an Amy replacement, we need an extra two to come in as well. Wini will be dropped to allow Clare to come back in, that's the only change I see in defence. Chloe and/or Chids to come in for Amy. Sharn may keep her spot, and then Em to come in. That's 22. Tony does like Courtney, so may bring her back as well and that's 23 if my Math is correct.

Good sign that Clare is back in full training!!

Hopefully she can be back in the squad for the last 3 games and build some minutes back under her belt before China.
Hope so! Glad to see her back and that they were careful with her fracture. Stress fractures can be so tricky if brought back too quickly it’s so good to know she was given the time she needed
Especially knowing she's going to be playing near on 180 minutes at the end of the month. Unless Tony is also takes some precautions with her and builds her up and maybe moves Steph back into CB at some stage and Torps or Charli into LB.
He is going to have to rotate a bit at the back. Clare and probably also Ellie due to the fact that she’ll be hopping on a plane pretty much right after the UWCL final. No matter if they win or lose, odds are she’ll go 90. Maybe Charli, Alanna, Clare (swap for Steph at half), Torps? Steph will be coming off the Arsenal friendly too
I don't expect Ellie to play the Adelaide game, or if she does, it'll only be 45 at the most (think Caitlin against Uzbekistan). Steph will be fine to play 90. The Arsenal friendly is in Melb, not halfway across the world, doesn't change anything for her, Caitlin or Kyra. But I do think Adelaide could see more of the B team playing and giving our A team a rest before Sydney. Hoping for a full Charli 90 in front of her home crowd.
Yep I also think they’ll want to put on a big show in Sydney (no shade to Adelaide), so can imagine key players being subbed off early or staying on the bench for the first game. Which is really a positive because we need some of our “bench” players to have more minutes and experience within the team. Hoping for Charli, Wheeler and Vine especially to get good runs in Adelaide (if they make the squad of course).

Late to the party with this weekend's game schedules, but I didn't forget (just nearly!) Stoked to be heading to the Melbourne City v Sydney FC grand final this afternoon, and hoping for a top tier game. Weather looks to be putting on a nice little show too, which always makes it better.

Brighton (Charlie Rule*) v Aston Villa - 10:00pm
Liverpool (Teagan Micah) v Manchester United - Sunday 11:00pm
Manchester City (Alanna Kennedy, Mary Fowler) v Arsenal (Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley, Kyra Cooney-Cross) - 11:15pm
West Ham (Mackenzie Arnold) v Leicester (Courtney Nevin, Remy Siemsen) - Monday 12:00pm

Coupe de France (FINAL)
Paris Saint-Germain (Clare Hunt) v Fleury - Today 11:00pm

Liga F (Round 26)
Madrid v Real Madrid (Hayley Raso) - Monday 4:30am

Damallsvenskan (Round 4)
BK Hacken (Aivi Luik) v IF Brommapojkarna - Sunday 11:00pm
Pitea v Kristianstads (Clare Polkinghorne) - 11:00pm

NWSL (Round 7)
Seattle Reign v San Diego Wave (Emily Van Egmond, Kaitlyn Torpey) - Today 12:00pm

Liberty A-League (GRAND FINAL)
Melbourne City v Sydney FC (Cortnee Vine, Jada Whyman) - TODAY 4:15PM!
Liverpool (only has Teags) v United will be a good one to keep an eye on! If Liverpool were to beat them they’d jump them on the table into 4th!

Yep! Hopefully it’s a good game, but looked like rather a lot of tickets still available when I checked ticketek earlier today.
I’m actually kinda annoyed with how they’ve sold the tickets to be honest. I bought some when they first went on sale and the reserved all obviously sold out within a few hours. They’ve then released more and they’re better (central) seats than what was first available. I understand the marketing and commercialism behind it so on camera and TV the stands looks fuller, but the release has been an odd choice.

You seem lost. This is the Australian thread. “All those other players” don’t matter in here and aren’t on topic in here. Teagan’s save, which saved them the three points whether you like it or not, matters in here. Bye, troll! The international and English threads are that way ➡️

Best of luck not getting lost in the future!
AFTER she put herself and her team in that precarious position with shit goalkeeping on multiple occasions earlier in the game.

Keep living in delululand. That's what we should have this thread renamed. I was told you Aussies were capable of criticising your players but it appears blind stanning is preferred.
The only reason you are in the Australian thread is to cause trouble. Grow up.
By being honest and trying to keep you grounded in reality actually. She made a great save but she also made multiple mistakes that led to multiple goals. You mentioned the one positive thing and left out the other negatives while heaping on the praise for one save. If you could keep you comments more balanced and weren't screeching that she single handedly won the game for Liverpool which is false and insulting no one would have had to say anything. Blind delulu stans get called out all over this website, you aren't immune.
This is the same as heaping criticism on a player for one mistake - which is what you've done and continue to do every day of the week. You're a troll and a hypocrite, but hey just trying to keep you grounded in reality.
Lol, this troll has been called out by a number of people in the international thread for boasting about the trolling in here. Radio silence since but won't be surprised if they came back to troll again.

da. yes or no - would she have had to make that save to preserve the narrow win in the first place if she hadn't scored an og and made some very questionable decisions on another chelsea goal?

yes or no - if her teammates hadn't gone on to score more goals to make up for these two mistakes would one great save have mattered in the end?

teagan didn't win them the game with a singular save. football is a game of 90 mins and a team sport. this was a team effort and it's insulting to all those other players to credit teagan alone with that win. take your biased goggles off.

Bringing it back in case people want to talk about it now! Teags won the game for Liverpool with this save, 100%. It was 4-3 for Liverpool here, last minute. That was going in the net if not for her and if it had the result would have been a draw instead of 3 points. I too hope she gets a China game start!
That was a good save, and she made a couple other good ones as well. She could have done better for one or two of those goals, but fortunately Liverpool still won in the end.

As a Liverpool fan though, I can't help but balk that you would say she won us the game. Like that other anon said, she's not the only player in the squad, and there would have been no win to make a last-minute save for had those 4 goals not been scored.

It's not like our goal was peppered with shots that Teagan had to save.
This is the Australian thread. We are going to hype up our players in here. If you want to hype up your club team, the international and English threads are available to do so. Teagan won them the game for the reason explained above. It was the last minutes of the game. Had that gone in, they would have walked away with one point instead of three. That save preserved the full three points.

Here’s a clip of the coach calling the save world class and just as important as the goals that were scored, btw:
It's funny how these trolls come to the Australian thread expecting praise for Liverpool as a team as though we would ever mention them without Teagan for it to be on topic in here.
I was the Liverpool fan and I wasn't trolling. I'm literally Australian but I'm also a Liverpool fan, I couldn't help but point out that we have other players and that win was not all on Teagan.

It looks like someone else started trolling though and that's probably on me for responding initially, so I'm sorry.

Real talk though: we used to be able to point out how are players aren't perfect without being called a troll. Like yesterday someone said that Sam was the reason Chelsea won their titles and someone else replied that it wasn't just her, and no one had a problem with that.

I guess there's a Teagan troll here who hates her specifically for some reason. I think it's the same troll in the international thread yesterday too.

I have no idea why that person hates Teagan specifically, but from now on I'll keep my thoughts to myself since it will just invite trolling.

I also just want to say that overall Teagan has been good for us. And Liverpool fans had nothing but praise for her along with the rest of the team for yesterday's match.
To be fair Teags didn't have the best of games and was at fault for the first goal and a couple of wobbly moments that Izzy C criticised in comms but that save was phenomenal and it did secure the win. It's the same as a striker having a stinker but scoring the winning goal. That save though will give her massive confidence

What a save by Teagan! I think that probably won them the game, whew.

I think it's the same troll in the international thread yesterday too.

da. yes or no - would she have had to make that save to preserve the narrow win in the first place if she hadn't scored an og and made some very questionable decisions on another chelsea goal?

yes or no - if her teammates hadn't gone on to score more goals to make up for these two mistakes would one great save have mattered in the end?

teagan didn't win them the game with a singular save. football is a game of 90 mins and a team sport. this was a team effort and it's insulting to all those other players to credit teagan alone with that win. take your biased goggles off.

DA It was actually me, a different anon. Seriously, you are only here to cause trouble. You don’t give a shit about Aussie players at all and are only wanting to start shit.

Trolls, kindly exit stage left. Thank you so much. This is the Australian thread. Teagan preserved the full 3 points whether you like it or not (and you clearly don’t like it) please take your incessant trolling and desire to talk shit about her to a thread that will commiserate with you. Our thread is not it. The International thread loves to shit on our players, you’d be right at home there. The English thread would also be a great place to discuss the performances of the other players on Liverpool if that’s what you want to do. They are not Australian, so not on topic here. Stop talking shit about our player in our thread. Get out.
She HELPED preserve 3 points that she very nearly made her team give up with some boneheaded goalkeeping.

This thread is not for blind support, it's merely to discuss anything Australian soccer related. You don't own the thread or the narrative on a public forum accessible to the world. Stop acting like the nanny state e-safety commission who have been criticised for trying to censor anything that might hurt feeble Australians' feelings on worldwide social media platforms. What has happened to your country and your people that you're this thinskinned now? The idea that this is some praise only thread only comes from some of you new, post-WC stans.

Well thank you for saying she preserved the lead and not won us the game. You've stopped exaggerating her contribution, so that's good. You listened

5.3 on fotmob (lowest of all Liverpool players)
6.1 on flashscore (lowest of all Liverpool starters)
6.9 on sofascore

She was mid the entire game. One save doesn't change that. You lot sound like you didn't watch the game, just that clip, cause anyone that did would think that your statements acting like she was the saviour of Liverpool are ludicrous.
