Just got tickets to see Matildas and idk what player to get on a jersey, deciding between Caitlin, Sam, or Katrina
I finally got my hands on a home jersey recently. Where are you going to get the name/number on the back?
Idk I haven’t bought it yet but don’t they let you pick a player to have on the back.
Depends on where you get it I guess. I got it from rebel and I don't think that was an option.
DA - I got mine done at Ultra Football.
I’m hoping to get mine done at Ultra this weekend before the Dub GF. I know it’ll cost extra since I didn’t get my jersey from there, but gotta do what you gotta do. I’m still trying to decide whether I get Cait’s name and number or something different since I have her on my Arsenal jersey.

Oh yeah if you buy it on football Australia it lets you get a players name printed on the back, but I’m sure you can go on etsy or ebay to get the thing to print on the back
It doesn't look like they're available on football Australia? I don't doubt they will give you the option to get a name and number printed on the back though. Just that they haven't been available for a while. I'd love to get my hands on an away jersey.

Really great moment in the 76th minute of the UWCL semi where Chawinga takes off after the loose ball and does a double take when she realizes Ellie has kept pace and been right next to her the entire time stride for stride. Had no trouble at all keeping up. I don’t think Chawinga is very used to that!

Can we not. They play different positions and one isn't more important than the other in the NT.

Mary coming into form like this ahead of the Olympics is very, very good for us. So is the fact that for the most part of 180 minutes across two games, Ellie had the fastest player in the UWCL in her pocket. And so is the fact that Vine has looked really decent since March or so. Good stuff!
I was thinking about this too. It’s unfortunate what happened to Bunny Shaw but the silver lining for the Tillies is Mary getting more minutes, goals, and boost her confidence. Obviously this was “just” against the relegated team but still, great to see! I think Mary will be a regular starter for club in no time.

For sure! She is in such great form 🔥
The fact we don’t ever see her play as a 9 (as she is sort of doing for city in second half) is a crime from Tony honestly, especially with the Kerr injury
It does annoy me but it’s too late to train her into the position for the Olympics. We’d miss her belters outside the box too, our 9s are more about tap ins

She was having a bit of a stinker tbh. Not great when she's trying to get back her starting spot from Casparij.
Starting position is gone imo. Even next season city are going to add to the defence sending her further down the pecking order. She'll end up looking for a move at Christmas.
With her Aussie starting spot not under threat, and with city in champions league there will be more rotation so she will still play a fair bit so can’t see her itching to leave. Also seems like she likes the team and is happy there and I’m not sure she’d be pushing to leave as any other club is a step down and she doesn’t seem like someone wanting to do that…

Re: Australian Womens Football

Yay! OL is through to the final, Ellie won on her birthday.

She played really well, for those who didn’t watch the game. She made Chawinga’s life very difficult. I would argue that it was probably her best game this season.

OL’s killer mentality, man. It’s truly something else. They just shift into this higher gear when it is UWCL time.

Players need to start wearing microphones during games because I'd pay good money to hear what Mac was shouting to Lehmann 😂

She's going nowhere near Villa, not her people at all.
Didn’t see the game. Can you give a summary of what happened? Mac would knock the Botox right out of her face!
It was nothing really, it was just funny. A villa player was down, Smith and Daly were arguing with each other, Mac ran over and Lehmann tried to wave her away to which Mac started laughing while covering her mouth and shouting stuff at her. No doubt it was some funny banter she was shouting.

Her dribbling is really frustrating sometimes.
i know we love her signature gallop style run but i wonder if that habit makes her a bit predictable, she always takes one, two touches before tries outrun her defender
I actually love watching her do it, works most of the time. If it doesn’t, Arsenal almost always gets a corner too. However it’s the corners that let Arsenal down, it’s like they have absolutely no tactics behind them but get it to the area and everyone jump and pray.
Foords playing shit, stop reaching
The whole team is playing shit tbf, don’t think Foord is standout as bad tho.

Should have added in Wheeler is starting for Everton! But what is new there ;) she is pick of the bunch.
Some of y’all forget that when Wheeler was Kyra’s age she was playing in the Aleague and not starting…
And? What’s your point? Comparison is stupid, as illustrated very well by the absolute mess of the discussion about Ellie’s accomplishments. You can compare any player to another in a negative way - but why? When Wheels was KCC’s age she was in the A-League and not starting, yes. Four years later she’s a regular starter for Everton. KCC is 22 and a bench player for Arsenal right now. Bigger club, but not starting either. When Ellie was 22 she was winning her second UWCL trophy and a regular starter for Lyon. There’s no point in comparing careers to try to “one up” anyone else. They’re all different and all important
The person saying Wheeler’s the pick of the bunch was comparing them…
That was me - I was comparing Wheeler to the Everton players. AKA no surprises she is starting from Everton's squad. Not Matildas players. My bad if that wasn't clear!!
That’s how I read it! I could see the potential for confusion but “pick of the bunch” to me was in regard to her Everton squad

DA Don't worry it was clear, some saddos in this thread just love an opportunity to pick a fight out of nothing and/or lack basic reading comprehension.
This response from them was very much the current lack of reading comprehension + unnecessary aggression we see online so much nowadays - 'I love pancakes' 'So you HATE waffles?!'

Such unlucky timing for KCC to get injured given she likely would have started the last 2-3 games.
