Depends what happens this summer I think with Mac. If she stays at West Ham with Kirsty I think she’s definitely engaged by the end of 2024, but if she leaves and they have to navigate long distance then I can see it ending like Raso and Izzy. Long distance, especially given the scheduling, is so hard to make time for each other and I think it takes a lot to make it work. Macca obviously did long distance before so not sure whether she’d be up for doing it again.

But every relationship has compromise and challenges, that’s just life. I wouldn’t write off Mac and Kirsty in the (extremely unlikely) event Mac moves teams. She did do long distance before, but she was younger then and less mature/sure of herself than she is now. I would also argue that relationship, from outside appearances anyway, wasn’t as healthy as the one she’s in now. Sam and Kristie did long distance for years and obviously made it through. Ellie and Daan will soon have to navigate what it’ll be like with one retired while the other is still playing. Seasons of life ebb and flow and a big part of healthy love is navigating those things together. Sometimes it just doesn’t work though and I think that’s all it is with Izzy and Hayley. They just wanted different things in the end and the compromise was just too much on either side

Depends what happens this summer I think with Mac. That's what I thought. Whenever I've heard her on comms she's always praising our squad. Never really heard much negative, unless this anon can provide actual examples I'm going with a troll.

Izzy is professional, critiquing players is literally her job as a sports commentator, I always thought she was very kind towards our girls. And seeing some of the tillies comment on her posts, I’d say they have a good relationship with her.

Well, she does rate Sam. I can’t remember where it is but she picked her ultimate 5-a-side and Sam was up top. And on FA Player, there is also another interview with her and she picked Kerrby in another one of these types of things.

Obviously she was going to rate Sam during the WC in Australia where Sam was beloved and hyped up by everyone. It would be suicide to go against the grain. But in club matches before she’d never said anything very positive.

What? That doesn’t make sense. International travel absolutely sucks, some people hate it. It’s so draining and you have to go for a long enough time to make it worth the trip generally. Ellie makes a ton of money too and her dad only went to see her play for the first time this past December, doing a 2 for 1 deal and going on her engagement trip too. He likely won’t be back to Lyon with any sort of regularity either

Tbh I was never that attached to them as a couple because they were so private, especially in the last few years! And if you follow them both, you could see how they kinda ended up going in different directions which is very sad, but I’m glad neither one is necessarily “following” the other one in spite of their own careers if that makes sense? Distance sucks and they gave it a good crack. I would have thought they’d be closing the distance with Ras moving potentially back to England, but I guess not.

It’s always sad when a long term relationship ends and I feel for them if the distance was the cause, but ultimately if they can’t manage with a years distance then maybe there were other issues going on as well. Hope Ras is doing ok. Glad she’s got teammates around her looking after her!

They all said during the World Cup how special it was to have their families in the stands and have them watching such a major tournament on home soil. Can only imagine how excited they all are to have their families watch them play for club, and as Cait said, it's the first time any of her fam are getting the opportunity to see her play in the 4 years she's been at Arsenal.

I really think Chids gets a lot of (kind of unnecessary sometimes) hate for really high expectations that other players don’t seem to have placed on them. She just turned 25 this year. Was 22-24 when she was bouncing around teams in the US/Mexico. Even younger than that when she played in Spain. For all of Chids various experience and environments she has been in she seems to get written off a lot. I don’t think she’s at the level she can get to but I also think a lot of that is due to being mismanaged on the teams she has been on overseas. You can’t develop if you aren’t playing regularly. She is doing so now but it may be too late

I wasn't hating when I asked how Chids was doing this year, just to clarify. I'm not in Oz at the moment so I couldn't follow the Dub properly.

I don't see a lot of hate for her though? I know people were disappointed, and personally I understand why she's not being called up, but I still hope all the best for her and hope to see her back with the Matildas if not this Olympics, then in the camps after that.

Cait looks really pretty with her bun! And agree she’s got a great kick. If that was a NRL goal post she’d have no problems. I think she grew up with NRL player Jackson Hastings as her mum was dating his dad, so they’d definitely play backyard footy back in the day.

Nah it’s bullshit if you can’t talk about Caitlin in here. Like OP said, they want to discuss Caitlin and not the relationship. Of course the other thread is “off topic” they aren’t holding back now in talking about their relationship and don’t have to keep it Caitlin focused.

Cait is Australian and plays for the tillies, of course she can be discussed in here. Re: the video, if she did that with any other teammate it would be posted in here and discussed no problem. Haters and complainers probably have a different opinion but I think it's fine to discuss it in here. The video isn't about their personal lives, it's about football so that's fair game imo.

I really think Chids gets a lot of (kind of unnecessary sometimes) hate for really high expectations that other players don’t seem to have placed on them. She just turned 25 this year. Was 22-24 when she was bouncing around teams in the US/Mexico. Even younger than that when she played in Spain. For all of Chids various experience and environments she has been in she seems to get written off a lot. I don’t think she’s at the level she can get to but I also think a lot of that is due to being mismanaged on the teams she has been on overseas. You can’t develop if you aren’t playing regularly. She is doing so now but it may be too late
