For anyone interested, those personalised rings that Emma designed as a parting gift for the Chelsea players’ features a word engraved on the inside that is unique to each individual player and for Sam she chose the word: Winner
Quite accurate and not just winning on the field but off as well 😉

I think it’s getting weird they’re not announcing a Sam contract now that the season is over. Her contract is literally expired. Maybe she signed a provisional agreement based on how the trial will go? So that’s not something very glamorous to announce. With her ACL it’s likely she won’t see a pitch until next year anyway. They won’t tie her to a contract if there’s risk her work VISA is canceled.
She has already signed. I think they will announce it after the new manager is official so she can be tied to the signing. It would be a good PR move. Champions league final is this weekend so I think new manager will be announced next week.
da no need nor do i think they cloud the new manager signing with Sam news. Right now Sam is in the US, dont see the timing with her out of London announcing anything. With her acl more than likely you won't hear much until later before the season starts. She is in rehab mode with Chelsea so kinda no need yet to go big on an announcement imo. Its been an unusual year with the injury and legal stuff, if both didnt happen a deal would have likely been announced already.

There is the risk of deportation depending on how her criminal trial plays out. If they sign her, I’m sure it’ll be to a very conditional contract. I honestly think she should’ve plead guilty and apologized. The courts would go easy and she could probably let it all pass. Cover all the bad pr up with wedding stuff. If she’s found guilty now it’ll be much worse. The judge even warned her of that. She also went on some interview saying she loves partying after all of this. None of that is smart.
doubt it as for one she can very easily if trial goes forward not be found guilty and if so she won't see a day in jail and that's a big part of felony convictions on visa's is the incarceration of a long period of time and a risk to the community based on the nature of the crime. You like to consistently bring this up to create negativity but nothing has happened and won't for awhile. By the way they got engaged and are getting married way before the January charge came to be so the wedding is not PR stunt and she didn't say she likes to party in the Vogue interview, the question was "stay in or go out".
Deporting a mixed woman for saying the word white to a cop?? In her first offense ever? lol that is totally reasonable punishment, sure! What a joke

they are heading somewhere but up really early for the US is weird bc you gain 5 hours time difference on the flight there so leaving in the Uk afternoon still gets you there in the morning US, seems no need to get up really early in London for that trip. Made it myself last year
A Boston-bound flight left London this morning at like 930 or 10 UK time. Solely basing it on social media activity, they’re already where they were going or are on a flight with wifi.
think we need to wait and see bc their destination can be anywhere...the last thing they liked was Bright's post before 1pm Uk time, a Perth flight was also taking off after that and numerous US flights🤷‍♀️
No harm in guessing unless people start getting hostile about it. She did like a post from Reece James after that flight took off and now just posted a story. Hopefully they’ll show their faces wherever they end up.
Stalking them isn’t cool

Daily mail is notorious for allowing people to buy pr pieces. Kerr and Mewis have used it quite a bit. They’ve put out a new piece on the trial. Interestingly it states…
Her legal team have argued Kerr was subject to abuse of process after it took a year for her to be charged.

On May 20, they were also seeking to have the criminal charge of racially aggravated harassment thrown out.
Interesting the judge refused or her team decided against going forward with the hearing to throw the case out. Doesn’t look like they believe they could have won and now it’s just about denying and saving face.

“Kerr is facing charges of intentionally causing “racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress to a police officer” after a night out with teammates in London in january 2023.

According to documents filed by Kerr’s legal team with Kingston Crown Court in early April, Kerr will assert she did not intend to racially abuse the officer on the night in question.

Her legal team is intending to argue an abuse of process by crown prosecutors after it took a year for her to be charged.”

Yea they’re just arguing on the abuse of process by crown prosecutors, which is notoriously hard to get. Every article I’ve seen says she’s just saying she didn’t mean to cause distress or whatever. There’s a noticeable change of language and tone in the more recent articles.

There are some inconsistencies in that article from previous articles like saying the cop was called to the scene instead of the cab driver going to the police station. It also says at the very end she’s not required to attend the trial in person next Feb.

How many times will you post the same articles? We already know the trial is going forward. You just want to rehash the same stuff over and over again to feed your need for drama. Why don’t you wait February for the facts to come out with the evidence? Or go to Reddit where they love to dunk on her since that’s clearly what you’re after.

The trophy is staying in London!!
No one was found to give it a lift elsewhere.
5 in a row is quite insane given how tight it’s been at the top of the table these past few years.
I genuinely thought it was over for us after that Liverpool game, so pleasantly surprised that we managed to take this trophy home after such a eventful season 😅
da this season has been so rough to watch as a Chelsea fan 😂 starting with the news of EH leaving and the poor handling of the announcement internally, all the major injuries, EH seemingly (imo) already having one foot out the door into the USWNT, UWCL return leg fckery immediately followed by the disastrous Liverpool game… lol I’m glad we made it through what has felt like the longest season ever!
Erin mentioned in her post-match interview that this season has been the most emotionally difficult one for her so I think the players too are more than ready for this season to done.
Definitely not the season they were hoping for but at least it ended on a high note with a trophy at the end.

Sam Kerr’s bid to get her alleged race case claim against a police officer struck out of court on the grounds of abuse of process will now go to trial next year.

Matildas captain and Chelsea striker Sam Kerr will not appear in court on Monday.

Kerr, 30, and her legal team, led by senior UK criminal barrister Grace Forbes, were slated to appear at Kingston Crown Court to fight claims she insulted, threatened or caused alarm or distress to a police officer while returning home in a taxi on a night out with her fiancee on January 30 2023.

The judge in the case at Kingston Crown Court has cancelled the Chelsea striker’s preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday.

The case will now go to trial next year, after three delays which gave the prosecution extra time to gather evidence against the Australian captain, including CCTV footage that has captured the alleged racist rant.

The new date for the hearing is February 3 2025.

A clerk at the London court said: “All issues between the parties have now been resolved.

“The next date we have for the case is the trial date of February 3 next year.

“The judge agreed for this to be the case administratively. Monday’s hearing is no longer needed.”

Kerr’s barrister Grace Forbes had previously requested that CCTV footage outside Twickenham police station and panning a custody suite be submitted as evidence in the case of Kerr, who is accused by PC Stephen Lovell of racial harassment.

It is understood he was called to diffuse a dispute over a taxi fare after the footballer had spent a night out celebrating a football win in London. Her legal teams argue she was subject to abuse of process after it took a year for her to be charged.

Lawyers for Sam Kerr were on Monday due to attempt to have the criminal charge of racially aggravated harassment against her thrown out.

A trial lasting four days has been set for February next year – two years after the alleged offence occurred following a dispute over a cab fare.

It is alleged the taxi driver took Kerr, one of the world’s highest paid and talented players in women’s football, to a police station in Twickenham when the row escalated on the night she had been celebrating a win for Chelsea against Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup, in which she scored a hat-trick.

If successful, lawyers for Kerr, who has been told she is not obliged to attend the hearing in person, will aim to have the charge downgraded or dismissed.

Documents previously lodged in court reveal her legal team intend to argue an abuse of process by crown prosecutors.

Kerr, who is recovering from a ruptured ACL sustained during a training camp in Morocco and who has extended her contract at Chelsea until 2025, strenuously denies she intended to insult or cause alarm or distress to police officer Stephen Lovell of Twickenham Police Station.

PC Lovell and a colleague were allegedly called to diffuse a row with the taxi driver over a fare when Kerr, who was with her fiancee Kristie Mewis, allegedly verbally abused the officer.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed she was charged on January 22 this year, almost 12 months after the alleged offence.

She was arrested at the time and interviewed.

In the UK, convictions for harassment can carry a sentence of up to six months in jail, or an unlimited fine, if the motive is found to be racially aggravated.

During a preliminary hearing on March 4, Kingston Crown Court heard body-worn video and CCTV cameras inside the police station’s custody suite may have captured footage of the alleged offence.

The court heard two body worn clips, labelled H8 and H9, had not yet been found by the prosecution.

Kerr, who has pleaded not guilty, did not disclose the incident to Football Australia throughout all of 2023 including during the FIFA World Cup tournament in Australia.

The Sun newspaper claimed on March 6 that she had called the officer a “stupid white bastard”, with Kerr’s team denying she used the word “bastard” instead calling the officer a “stupid white cop”.
So the cops found their video evidence. It would seem Kerrs arguments that there was an abuse of process couldn’t hold up so the judge sent it straight to trial. That doesn’t look good for Kerr.
I have a feeling her lawyers have seen the clips now and will have to rework their defense. The abuse of process won’t hold up. With a racial harassment charge I think they have up to years they can file that. If claiming she never intended to distress the police is her only real line then that’s not going to go down well in court. I’m flabbergasted by Mewis in all of this. Just give the driver your card and protect your drunk partner, unless Kerr is one of those fighting drunks you just can’t control.
I thought the whole point of the hearing was to get her case dismissed and use the abuse of process argument?
A hearing was scheduled to take place today, April 26, and her defence was expected to try to dismiss the case, claiming there was an abuse of process, but it has now been postponed to May 20.
Why would the judge dismiss it unless she found it to carry no weight or Kerrs team decided to not go that route after they received the tapes? It said both sides settled it, then the defense got the tapes and there wasn’t enough evidence to go forward with dismissing it?

Kerr is coming out looking sketchy.
I haven’t seen this answered yet, but can Kerr play while all this is going on? Would Chelsea even play her or will they just keep her on the bench until it’s over?

I’ve also read she didn’t tell the Tillies. They’ve been fine without her but I wonder how this will impact her coming back. The FA can’t bee too happy with her. Kerr’s general performance with the team hasn’t been as good as it is with Chelsea (yes I know they’re diff. team quality levels but in terms of her performance as a singular player compared to the level she used to play at with Aus) and she’s prioritized club over country in many ways, even with just informing them about her legal situation.

Even if she’s found not guilty of racial harassment on technical terms, this has exposed a lot of bad things. The n word instaposts have now been brought up again. Her actions with the taxi man were inappropriate at best. She had to be thrown in the drunk tank. I don’t see how she walks away post court case without this impacting everything in some way.
I, too, am curious on if Kerr will be allowed to play. Is it wsl rules or Chelsea code of conduct rules that would forbid her. I’d assume wsl related things because Chelsea men have been allowed to do worse things and still play, but I’m not sure if any have involved a criminal court case being charged by the police?

The trophy is staying in London!!
No one was found to give it a lift elsewhere.
5 in a row is quite insane given how tight it’s been at the top of the table these past few years.
