Portal reopens for Iowa players because of a coaching change
If there is a coaching change, they have 30 days to enter the portal. Also, wonder if this will affect any of their current committed/signed recruits?
I doubt anyone is going to leave since I am sure Lisa and Jan worked the last few days to secure the roster. But I am sure there will some reaching out to Olsen and Hannah Stulkey through back channels in the next few days.
Jan was huge in their recruiting and associate head coach for a minute, so I would be surprised if anyone wasn't willing to play under her.

Timing is wild, Kate being blindsided by it was pretty shocking given she's Jan's niece. Hope all is well.

USC - 6, 13, 16, 54, 92

UConn - 1, 7, 11

I have a hard time saying USC had the better class when 54 and 92 are likely a few years out from contributing on a stacked roster.

Definitely not. Not all coaches use divide and conquer method like this creep did.

Dude gives off creepy vibes. The way he touches and is always kissing or hugging on his clear favorites on his team has always come off weird to me.

So Georgia and Liz still cool with each other?
Why wouldn’t they be cool? If Liz had another year to play college she would have gone to UK.
Idk everyone said they had a bad break up? Or they're still together?
They are not together. They probably haven't been 'together' for years. I think Georgia is seeing someone based on what they said in the podcast. I don't think it's a public person.

Unless Iowa does some shady stuff they don’t have a scholarship
Didn't one of the new girls get a major injury? Do they still count? (Not sure how the injury/redshirt stuff works)
There is a process to have a player medically retire and convert the scholarship to one that doesn’t count. I know there is a player on Iowa that Bluder said wouldn’t play again but there was some chatter on twitter that the player didn’t agree with that assessment.
Same op
It is Ava Jones who I forgot was the player years ago who was hit by drunk driver, I am shocked she ever occupied an athletic scholarship given her injuries, also not sure I buy the chatter of her not being on board of being medically retired.
She committed to Iowa 2 days before the accident, her dad died and honestly she is lucky to even be alive given how bad her injuries were. Bluder has said she’s not getting her scholarship taken away regardless of if she can ever play again or not.

I’ve seen videos of her, and she’s walking and shooting but is very clearly not going to be in any high level basketball shape anytime soon, allegedly they have her sitting behind the bench incase of loose balls/flying players. But I can see why she wouldn’t want to give up the dream of playing again.

Would a medical scholarship give her access to the same rehab program? I’m sure she’s getting the best of the best being on an athletic scholarship.
It wouldn’t impact her in anyway from a medical standpoint, just would end her dream of ever really playing in a game for Iowa or basically any other D1 school. Just if you brought a player in for on an athletic scholarship and want to convert it, there are compliance rules to follow.
When it has happened with other schools the player usually becomes a student assistant so they are still involved if they want to be.

Did Kennise Johnson and Aaliyah Guyton tear ACL's?
ACLs are not career ending injuries and redshirts count against scholarship limits. If Iowa is seriously recruiting another player, it is likely because they can move Jones to an academic/university scholarship

I've seen Macy play in person. Wasn't really impressed with her tbh.
How tall is she and can she shoot?
Da
She’s 6’3” and yes, she is not very athletic though. She fits a mold of some ND players who don’t look like they will be good but will kill you
OG anon here. I mean she is good, but I just don't see her as a huge difference maker. Not surprised she's headed to ND as she is a devoted Catholic. I've heard Louisville sort of backed off of her the last year or so. I'd much rather have Zakiyah Johnson stay home. Now she is a huge difference maker and will be instant impact wherever she goes. But word on the street is she wants to go away for college, at least at first, and will be headed to SC most likely. Crazy how we have three top rated players in the 2025 class and it will be a struggle to keep all three in state. Ciara Byers is the other one. I like her a lot, but she was injured this past season.
Yeah I know UConn’s interest was there but she wasn’t the top priority, I think there interest was tied to another player who hasn’t decided yet but seems to be leaning towards UConn.
Macy reminds so much of other ND players who don’t blow you away but can cause problems.
