It seems like it would be difficult to do, but what is the chance Indiana some how screws this up and continues to be dysfunctional?

Feels like they are going to have locker room issues. And I have no faith in their front office.
Nobody knows , they seem to try to do a lot of marketing
But at the end of day it has to do with basketball game and wins , if they do better like playoff it be good for the league and later they just have to surround her with better talent to win trophy
For me she is the new curry, with her ability to pass and shoot, but even curry lacks defensive and that something the other around her will need to adopt
It’s just to early to know how this will go , but I hope for best for the league

I doubt that. If you can shoot at an elite level like she can, you will be just fine. Hoping for her downfall doesn’t help the league either.

Maybe. But it's irrelevant. The point is to keep the momentum going and get more viewers for the league. And most important, Angel Reese is hawt. So is Nyadiew Puoch. I want to walk around with them on each arm sneering at all the other lesbians who don't have 2 glamazon girlfriends.

She is going to be fine. Her floor is like good starting point guard and all-star.

There is a lot of area between averaging 30+ points and being a perennial MVP candidate and flopping.
DA Clark recent interview, she knows she won't do lot of scoring herself, she's focusing on being a good passer, mainly feeding Boston since they already played together in U19.

lol I can't with these wnba players if they want a shoe deal they should tell their agent to negotiate or jump ship to another brand that will give them a shoe deal.
Whining on twitter will get them a shoe deal?
Those twitter stans will buy their shoes?
Clark already showed that people will spend money on her.
They should sign to Chinese brands, instant signature shoes.

I dunno why are they surprised CC will be paid by nike and will have her own signature shoes, she's the most popular and most marketable women's basketball player right now.
the part its a 10million deal its crazy, probaly not for a year but as someone who doesnt even buy basketball shoes its crazy lol they must think they going to sell amazing
Her jersey is like 99 bucks and selling well. Shoes probably like 120 bucks like sabrina. But sabrina is a nice looking shoes that also catered for non basketball fans not some ugly gimmicky shoes.
Da I honestly don’t think people even buy the shoe because Sabrina’s name is attached. They buy it because it is Nike and they like the way it looks.
IMO That actually would be better for long term success because hype and popularity will die down fast

Who are the tanking teams this year? ATL? LA? DC? Lynx? Sky? Any others? :hmmm:
Current odds have LA, CHI, and DC all at +8000 and MIN and ATL at +5000 to win the title. DC has ATL’s first round pick next year so not as much reason for ATL to tank hard.

The big question though is where the league is gonna put the Bay Area team in the draft order. If they are given the #1 pick no one is gonna actively tank since there’s a big drop off between Paige and the rest of the pack in this draft class. I think I read that the current rules state that expansion teams draft after the lottery teams but I don’t know if that’s accurate or if it could be changed before next year.
As a Minnesota fan, I wish we would tank for Paige or make some good decisions (wtf was this year’s draft). Instead we are stuck in the same hamster wheel as other Minnesota sports. Not good, but not bad enough to get the draft capital to fully rebuild.

Our biggest hope at this point is that Caitlin or Paige want to play for us when they are finally free agents in 5 years 😭.

You shouldn't worry Fever won’t be in the playoffs
With the number of teams tanking for Paige, they make the playoffs by default.
Why would anyone tanking for Paige?
She’s an incredible talent with a massive fanbase that would financially change the landscape of a franchise overnight?
We're talking about Paige here not Clark
Clark is an elite shooter and a great passer but Paige is better all around. If not for injuries (but that’s the nature of sports), she’d be right up there. Bueckers is going to the be the #1 pick next year and teams will tank to get her.

Indiana Fever rookie phenom Caitlin Clark — the No. 1 pick in Monday’s WNBA draft — is nearing a lucrative, eight-figure endorsement deal with Nike, industry sources tell The Athletic.

Clark is expected to receive a signature Nike shoe as well, those sources said. Under Armour and Adidas also made sizable offers to Clark, two industry sources said.

[...]

Golden State’s Stephen Curry – who launched Curry Brand in as a signature, standalone venture with Under Armour – participated in the companies‘ meeting with Clark, industry sources said. Curry Brand signed Kings star De’Aaron Fox as its first NBA athlete late last year, and inked University of South Carolina guard MiLaysia Fulwiley to a multiyear NIL deal, making her the first college athlete to partner directly with the company.

Yeah that’s what I’ve read but I wasn’t sure and couldn’t find anything official from the league online. And the last expansion was when I was in like grade school so I don’t remember how it worked then lol. Kinda unusual though, usually expansion teams get the #1 pick in other leagues.

Also speaking of bihets, did Olivia Ponton really follow Clark?
To follow KMew instead of her sister is wild to me if you know soccer. Not to take anything away from KMew but she is mostly known for dating Daly and Kerr. The fact that she also followed Pinoe and not Morgan despite both being Nike super stars is also wild. AND Morgan made a post for Caitlin same as Kerr, but CC follows Kerr and not her. :nervous:

I am now doubled-down in my CC is probably bi theory.
Lol Pinoe following has an easy explanation, because of Sue.
This is true and I thought about that as soon as I posted it.
I'm surprised tiktokers haven't found the KMew connection lol
A lot of them are young and can't do basic stalking research the correct way.
