Pretneding to kiss eachother on the lips all the time seems so unplataonic. Not sure if y'all caught this.
Sleeq repping national television. Not only did they bring out the rainbow flags, they also shoutout "non binary" and I think the show introduced them as a "feminist" which we already know is a dirty word in Korea lol

Can't believe MNETactually did that. Cool.

That's massively untrue. Lesbians can stan boy k-pop groups not for male attraction but for other things like music, dance, or inspiration that permeates from visual presence. And there are lesbians generally don't stan girl groups due to they are heavily packaged and marketed for what men like in girls.DnB wrote:Are you kidding me?? Do you have social media? There's a lesbian fanbase for bts on Twitter and it's so big "bts are lesbians" even became a meme.Guest wrote:Ryujin was also scouted at a bg concert (got7). idc what anyone says no lez stans men like that. bi perhaps.
I used to fight with these fans, because they don't seem to stan girl groups and only tweet about male idols. I was mass attacked by a lot of them and called a lesbophobic because I was saying that lesbians can't have male idols. In the end they're just a bunch of femmes who prefer masculine girls and fantasize kpop male idols as lesbians (because they look so effeminate anyway). Lol
I hope ppl know that their opinions are just mere opinions and not an axiom that applies to every freaking human being on Earth. Just cuz you can only see it one way doesn't mean your way is the only true thing. There are many reasons other than sexual attraction that a person stans an idol.
so now lesbians don't stand GG because they are marketed for what men like in girls but they rather stick to BG? first of all most companies, their target is fangirls for gg or bg. and second do you think lesbians only interested in women like amber or moonbyul.usher101 wrote:That's massively untrue. That's why I said that the lesbians who prefer to stan BTS over ggs usually are femmes who are not attracted to very feminine girls like the idols and openly tweet about fantasizing the BTS members as butch lesbians. I know that there are also some who are only into the music, but the ones who've got my attention are these femmes who actually swoon over BTS looks and joke about marrying them. I said and quote "There are lesbians" meaning some lesbians and just because they don't stan girl group don't mean they automatically only stan boy groups.aimylee wrote:so now lesbians don't stand GG because they are marketed for what men like in girls but they rather stick to BG? first of all most companies, their target is fangirls for gg or bg. and second do you think lesbians only interested in women like amber or moonbyul.usher101 wrote:That's massively untrue. First of all, no these kpop companies sell their idol groups to the opposite sex. Girl groups all got huge boy fan followings (except Mamamoo which doesn't fit the regular formulation of k pop industry.) If what you think is true, then k pop girl groups have been failed for past 30 yrs cuz they obviously don't attract much girl fans relatively I mean.
Secondly, what? What are you on and about? What I said above is a general statement of sexual attraction isn't the only thing that ppl stan something. How does that relate to lesbian sexuality? Cuz I said there are lesbians, meaning some lesbians, don't stan girl groups due to they are unnaturally over-"cute-tified" and over "innocent-lized" and over sexualized for the opposite sex? Well think about it this way. There are lesbians, meaning some lesbians, don't watch lesbian porn, or "lesbian" porn that's marketed for men to jerk off. The same logic applies there. There are lesbians, meaning some lesbians, don't like unnatural fakery. And also just cuz those lesbians don't watch "lesbian" porn don't make them automatically patron gay men porn. This is the best example I can come up with at this moment to explain it.
I see. Somehow I got the vibe of "okay you can't stan them if you don't find them attractive" from you previous post. I don't know much about BTS and their fans to actually comment about what is exactly going on between them but I have to admit that I was genuinely surprised to learn that BTS got lots of lesbian fans. I personally don't stan any boy group cuz why the hell would I ever but I understand why others may.DnB wrote:That's why I said that the lesbians who prefer to stan BTS over ggs usually are femmes who are not attracted to very feminine girls like the idols and openly tweet about fantasizing the BTS members as butch lesbians. I'm not femme, but i'm not butch either, mb like in the middle I don't know, and I love bts. Not for their dicks obv and I don't have posters of them or whatever but I love their music and perf. If you don't like them bcs of the music style and that shit I get it but just bcs they are mens ?

I only found about BTS lesbians stans because I kept seeing them on the #lesbian hashtag on Twitter, always with their cringey "Bts are lesbians" joke. Then when a gg stan account started fighting one of them over this disrespectful joke I helped her and got ganged up on by a lot of them (they call themselves 'army'). Interesting. Never knew something like that was happening. Well teenagers. There are so many gray areas about teenagers cuz they are too too young, still in the process of trying to figure out things from themselves.

The mods need to see this and clean up the thread. Hope there is a way to report a troll or a trolling behavior. Should've seen this coming from the start when I saw the red flag. What a classic troll. Picking on something, then making it all about themselves, then immediately resorting to insult, then playing victim. My bad for involving myself in this pointless tirade. Hope when we move to the new place there will be a good way to sift out trolls.Trust-666 wrote:well i do agree with you, clearly I don't know how to talk to crazy people.usher101 wrote:Hey you again. Thank you. Really appreciate the information. I was gonna say cuz that seemed impossible in an extreme conservative country like Korea. But at least we know that there is a member in Blackpink who is at least bisexual. A good news to us. I mean why would anyone go to that length to support a cause knowing the country they are from doesn't like that if it isn't related to them. It is really good to see more and more LGBT ppl in Kpop. My gaydar went off when I saw Mamamoo's Byul as well as Solar whom has been picking unappealing men as her ideal type. A classic lesbian strategy.redresin wrote:Looked it up and it happened in their Philippine Concert(the pride flag)

Korea is ok with gay fanservice (kpop is more full of this than Western pop), gay shipping, gay support/alliance from idols, as long as the idols aren't gay themselves. They're not like Russia with its gay propaganda law, they're kinda more hypocritical. They even have famous gay role-playing message boards there.usher101 wrote:YG is okay with that? since we are speaking about pride flag moments! I believe the bravest moment was sunmi when she TWEETED on her personal account a photo of herself with the flag. usually the "pride flag moments" do not grab my attention (since most of the flags were thrown at the idols) especially the moments when fans claim that the idol smiled at the flag or made a heart to it but sunmi with the pride flags will always be memorable for me

so yes the group is everglow and it is their world tour
It is crazy that they would get yelled at for only showing support, to be precise, a kind of support that will be noticeable by a small group of people aka lgbt kpop stans like they would not go viral for only handling the "gay" flag that was thrown at them by fans!
Re: Korean entertainment part II
Ahh so it was outside of korea... See this is why picking up a flag is still somewhat of a big deal for people. Especially from a conservative and homophobic country. It makes some news whether you believe they are pro lgbtq+ or not. It's still pretty discouraged to show support. Like most of the groups like twice and red velvet actually have a lot of queer fans so they can push the boundaries a little more than other groups. Everglow is still pretty much rookies and they aren't in companies as big as jyp or sm with big influence. So i honestly it makes sense management will be more aggressive in disapproving any action that can be seen as support. Shocked that they'd actually be obvious about it though. anyway, no one has yet to give me anything about a kpop idol actually picking up a pride flag in a big concert or event IN SOUTH korea...so still asking people to send if anything happens. Not hoping for much though since again risky.
By the way, spilling some gay news but did you guys hear about the rapper Sleeq and her performance here i go in mnets good girl? What you guys think about it?

Ps. The asking isn't a demand, don't know how to phrase it though but more of a look out for anything in the future?? I had to add this cause it sounded weird.
I just honestly hope for the day it wouldn't be taboo for a kpop idol to show support in korea without backlash. Like when you think about it holding a flag is basically not the biggest thing you can do for the rights of lgbtq in south korea, like its more of a symbolic thing as opposed to activists who are fighting for anti discrimination laws and same sex marriage....but idols or celebrities can get their careers ruined by the media by just holding a up a piece of cloth.

But there is something that I dont understand. I have seen some idols using lgbt merch in korea either in photoshoots or in live performances like why would they give it a pass if it was only used for fashion lol
Re: Korean entertainment part II
Honestly? I think it's cuz It's easy for koreans to ignore those things because a lot of the times they are small badges or something fashionably rainbow or nothing too obvious unless pointed out. It's more aesthetic than a real statement on where your support lies. Like korea likes to explain away gay things because they still have people who thing homosexuality isn't a thing/doesn't acknowledge it exists(old people) or a foreign illness or what not.lonlygay wrote: ↑16 Jun 2020, 14:46resin2 wrote: ↑16 Jun 2020, 02:35Ps.
