I think in a group of 12 members, some with really strong presence and personalities, you have a bit of favoritism. If i'm being honest, when I think of Loona, I forget Hyunjin, Yeojin and Vivi. HyeJu is the ace in that group. Hopefully being split up will give them a chance to shine.

it's a harder sell for the unused, overlooked members since i believe jaden pays artists with sales made from nft photocards and has another brand new girl group with 24 members they would be competing with. jaden is strange about promoting his artists properly versus treating them like an obscure art project with a cult following. it seems like everything about artms is already planned ahead in advance by the mastermind just like with loona. it worked to boost the most popular members. hyunjin calls herself the ctdenm ceo jokingly and suggested their group name. i guess the lesser known members just didn't have reason to trust jaden's stricter vision or reason to trust his company with boosting their fame and income past what it was

first of all this recent photoshoot was based off marla sing in fight club which shows how big of a cinephile/actress stan she is. as far as her admiring actresses' looks, the two sus tripleS members have already made way more explicitly gay comments about women within weeks of joining (and one of them is very into art too, but she pings regardless whereas.. yves seemingly knows her fanbase is mostly gay and intentionally panders to it with this hobby). a lesbian film rec (which she's already recommended before) coming on the day of her photoshoot with two men makes her hesitation about releasing the photoshoot even funnier to me - in a cute way, i love her no matter what, but i don't remember her voicing concern about her fans' reactions to any other photos. like i checked on ig and both of those extras are men. i hoped one could be a masc woman (in the only pic i saw, mugung airbrushed his round face to look soft but didn't in the rest, and the white tee/black tie is such a stereotypical andro outfit) but no. he's a long-haired edgy midget rapper. hopefully it's a one off or yves is simply working on music together with this questionable bong owner but he's similar to her so ya never know..

But tbh I think she's at least bisexual cause straight girls I know have very little interest at all in consuming lesbian media, especially things she seems to have checked out and recommended. firstly, i'm also a bit on the fence on yves being a cinephile... or at least in the way i meant seulgi! seulgi is the type to frequently drop recommendations on bubble, throwing in a good variety of random classics, teenage flicks and abstract foreign films, and has a big wall of film posters at her place. that's why her poster of blue is the warmest color and her mentioning something like the danish girl doesn't phase me lots - she seems to like going full-on artsy college student mode and exploring beyond just the mainstream. yk, the kind of person to watch a queer movie just to see an alternative perspective of love and broaden her horizons.

yves is mostly into japanese and korean films - her favorite is josee, the tiger and the fish, she recently talked about kamikaze girls, and she mentions kdramas with actors she likes every now and then. when it comes to foreign cinema, she's talked about pretty much only really popular american films like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind or the notebook. fight club is even bigger of a cult film. she clearly loves cinema but doesn't strike me as someone who goes for something outside of her bubble.

that video is also an orbit joke. she's recommended half of the films in it but saving face, summerland and but i'm a cheerleader were put there to bait the gays, she's never mentioned them. she also hasn't talked directly about the handmaiden but she's said she's seen everything with actor ha jungwoo in it so she's most probably watched it. as far as i know, the only queer cinema references she's made are the ones in my comment above. and again, they're not too explicit. they're low-key enough to be enjoyed by straight people but not something i'd expect them to seek out so i don't know what to make out of it.

and then her interactions with orbits.. being an idol requires you to pretend to be like a boyfriend/girlfriend to your fandom and very few idols are in the position to refuse to play into that because they'll get backlash if they don't fulfill their fans' desires. it's also a double-edged sword because people will make assumptions about your preferences; recently a fan said to kim lip that's she's probably into beastly men because she likes belle from beauty and the beast?? so it's generally easier to do the whole fanservice thing with fans who are your gender because you wouldn't get gross remarks. that's why so many idols get called gay.

but i agree with mostly everything you said! yves is the member who interacts the most with fans on social media, maybe alongside hyunjin, but then yves really plays into the parasocial relationship. she's obviously very aware of how her fanbase is full of queer women... and she totally panders to us! what you said about sunmi apologizing to fans for seeming straight, yves does it too. she was recently talking about living with roommates and when people assumed it's a guy, she was like "no, of course it's not a guy - it's my sister and her friend, i wouldn't be living with a man". and then one of the times she listed her favorite actresses was because she was talking about a film and someone asked her if her ideal type is the lead actor and she went "who is this man? my ideal type is actually han sohee..." and it's like, she doesn't need to react so strongly. haseul comfortably talks about male celebrities she likes, yeojin's mentioned a male idol friend (and also danced with a man during that one concert!), even kim lip whom orbits love calling gay has talked about her parents' relationship and made it seem like she wants something similar and it was never an issue with the gays. but yves apologizes for including men in her art and has singlehandedly built her fanbase to be this way.

i think she enjoys doing that and is not just doing it to collect fans on a paid app. she chats on the app almost every day and writes these huge ass poetic pieces on anniversaries (which is something not all of the loona members do and that's okay), and seems very comfortable indulging female fans. but she's also talked about how she thinks her charm is being a relatable unnie and honestly a huge part of the fandom biases her not just because she's pretty and talented, but also because she kind of fuels that parasocial connection and seems real and personable. and i totally get what you meant by saying she "has she built up an image for herself she doesn't want to disappoint anyone" because her actions speak exactly that. yves has kind of gotten herself into a limbo that's hard to escape from without losing lots of delusional fans.

do you guys think recommending lgbt cinema means anything at all? it's art and i know lots of straight people who enjoy films like moonlight, portrait of a lady on fire or the handmaiden just because they're good! at the same time, personally as a queer person i've always seeked out such films because they have me feeling more connected to the storyline and characters.

the films yves has talked about are not too explicitly gay but i too come from a pretty conservative country and when someone from here mentions a gay film it always piques my interest - it usually means they're at least supportive. actually the idol i follow that's recommended the most gay films is seulgi! she's even mentioned some more niche ones like blue gate crossing which i genuinely can't believe someone who's straight would manage to dig up. however, she's a huge cinephile and has talked about hundreds of films throughout the years, quite a couple of them queer. seulgi also doesn't ping me, like at all. but with yves i'm always on the fence on whether she pings me so her mentioning something even remotely gay has my ears perked up.

first of all this recent photoshoot was based off marla sing in fight club which shows how big of a cinephile/actress stan she is. as far as her admiring actresses' looks, the two sus tripleS members have already made way more explicitly gay comments about women within weeks of joining (and one of them is very into art too, but she pings regardless whereas.. yves seemingly knows her fanbase is mostly gay and intentionally panders to it with this hobby). a lesbian film rec (which she's already recommended before) coming on the day of her photoshoot with two men makes her hesitation about releasing the photoshoot even funnier to me - in a cute way, i love her no matter what, but i don't remember her voicing concern about her fans' reactions to any other photos. like i checked on ig and both of those extras are men. i hoped one could be a masc woman (in the only pic i saw, mugung airbrushed his round face to look soft but didn't in the rest, and the white tee/black tie is such a stereotypical andro outfit) but no. he's a long-haired edgy midget rapper. hopefully it's a one off or yves is simply working on music together with this questionable bong owner but he's similar to her so ya never know..

anyway it isn't surprising when men keep being highlighted in her art. like first it was her solo performance of new (please correct me if it wasn't her choice but it stands out because i'm pretty sure the other members didn't get male love interests for their stages, and it's daring choreo for an idol which fits her rebellious personality, plus new was actually one of the few lesbian MVs so whhhhy; it doesn't help some orbits wait for this to happen to "defend" her from imaginary jealous lesbians holding axes in the corner). it's like she's trying to "come out" as straight sometimes because of how heavy handed and male centric her image can be when it's time to market herself as an artist for real, all the while being the only one showing off how maybe queer she is on a paid chat app. like has she built up an image for herself she doesn't want to disappoint anyone for not living up to? sunmi did this too though and she's obviously bi (ran to twitter to say something gay for international fans as an apology after saying anything straight, which seulgi never does)

it doesn't disqualify her likely attraction to women at all, kinsey 2 is still not straight but you know the type right? nlog she/they hipster, liberal arts student who has a queer friend or two, wishes she was gayer than she actually is to fit in or seem cool in a progressive circle. that's my surface impression of her nowadays. even the tease with jueun was almost like sulli/hara cosplay and lots of people on the timeline thought it literally was them while scrolling. yes she can't help how she looks but she's leaning into the similarities and it can all feel a bit performative; her current dress sense and overall vibe is like a combo of every alt girl trend going, so i guess she's still starting to find herself after leaving. i don't like accusing people who might not be straight of baiting but you have to remember she's being doing this type of stuff since her predebut fansigns with chuu. honestly we have to wait for her debut. if there are no sus lyrics on her mini then it's clear

hmm Jueun is still following her though and on her page she still has yves posts up. She trained with Hyunjin hence why she's close with Loona members and has been for a long time. Not to say she couldn't have gotten closer and start dating Yves though, they did have a many sus moments



As for Jueun I never kept up with her group much but she sang Kehlani Honey in 2018 before that song really popped off and some people say some of her song lyrics are gay too.
