Yes, alot of hets do watch it, in alot of places netflix became popular outside the USA thanks to this show, idk on USA, but Orange is the New Black was very popular here on my countrie, the general public watch it, grey's anatomy style.

Pretty sure he was just saying that to save face with BBC. Nobody knows how it went behind the scenes picking out which members were going to work on this sub-unit. It could've been Ryan's choice, it could've been BBC pushing certain members on him. Acting like you know Ryan's real reasoning and then hating him for it seems rather immature imo. The fact that it is South Korea help in a weird way. They obviously can’t be public (if they are a couple) but they can basically say I love you to each other publicly every day and everyone would say it’s a cute friendship.
