ohh, looks like we've got another shared wardrobe update. too funny. yuqi sure does like wearing this stylist's things.
well, while I'm here, I guess I can add some things I didn't include in my other post. it's not quite as sus as the other stuff (I also hit URL limit lol), but more to add to the pile of evidence. so why not?
more examples of them being together and close when the camera isn't clearly on them and they seem unaware:
not as sus for couple-y physically affection, but they weren't sitting together like this at first when the camera could clearly catch them in the background:
this one is a bit hard to catch, but when yuqi pulls away from the stylist you can see her right arm was actually underneath the stylist's.
a few more frames of them being close "off-camera":
another thing that's kind of cute. this was a gift from the stylist for yuqi's birthday last year. so they were close enough at that point to be giving thoughtful b-day presents. (if you aren't aware, yuqi is a HUGE fan of bumblebee). I thought it was interesting yuqi made a full dedicated Instagram post for this instead of just a story. gives me the impression it was more meaningful to her. the stylist might be giving other members birthday gifts, but they sure aren't posting about it.
this was also interesting to me. Yuqi made a post for qixi (Chinese valentine's day). this was when Yuqi stayed behind in LA for several days on her own without the other members. the stylists and makeup artists stayed as well because I believe this was when she shot the MV for her cover song. in this photo she looks like she's out to dinner somewhere in the evening, wearing a dress and cute heart earrings... and has a red rose. red roses in general are seen as romantic, but it's especially seen as a romantic gesture to be given red roses on qixi. where did she get this rose? who gave it to her? it could have been something she wanted to use as a prop for a post about Chinese valentine's day for social media but.. she has it when she's out to dinner and dressed up? and guess which stylist was also in LA at the time.
I guess I'll continue to keep track of this because the receipts keep coming
oh my god this is also too funny. did someone not have time to hit the nail salon during downtime in Korea between tour stops? clipping the nails super short on only one hand and losing the nail-art on the index finger??? I don't know if her manicure went awry on one hand during their tour break and she clipped it all down to save it, or if it's just fucking gay. LMAO
why does this just keep getting funnier and funnier

I'm absolutely living for your gay!yuqi analysis. Keep it coming
If Yuqi is bi and Soyeon is bi then it makes me want to revisit old Yuyeon evidence which I pretty much wrote off before. Didn't Soyeon say Give me Your was inspired by Yuqi? and that it's also about her first love? That's a little sus as it is a confession song. Yuqi OP - do you think there is merit to the old rumors? Clearly she is with the stylist now if this is all true, but I mean for the past.
A stupid looking face with glasses
Waking up with sleep in my eyes
I eat a lot when I'm hungry lately
Nice I think I'm gonna die
When I lie down
Beside the cool looking you
I don't believe it
After asking you about love
I sleep comfortably
Here and there, why is everything cool?
No matter who looks at you, you look cool
To me who's worried every night
To me who likes you
Please give me your love
No matter how much I receive it's not enough
I like you
I seem to like you this much
Here and there, wherever, it won't happen again
My love is the last one next to you
To me who's going to be with you forever
To me who's fallen deep for you

yuyeon? I used to be a fan of that ship. I remember trying to suss them out years ago back when I was naive and would delulu about group ships. in the end I let go of that being potentially anything real at all, especially when coming to the conclusion yuqi was straight.
if they are both bisexual, sure it does make you wonder now. the thing to remember though is that they were a cube established ship on debut. the company pushed yuyeon, mimin and sooshu. is it possible to be in a company pushed ship and for them also to have had something going on? sure. but you have to take a lot of the interactions as things potentially played up for the camera and shipping fanservice. I do think they were genuinely close and yuqi looked up to soyeon a lot. their old ship just makes things harder to read. their current relationship is not the same at all for whatever reasons.
I think the Give Me Your dedication was more teasing than anything. There was a long-running joke of Yuqi being a source of inspiration for Soyeon's music (her "muse" lol), and in response, Soyeon always teasing her that she wasn't. I think this was Yuqi playing into that joke again and Soyeon giving into the teasing that time. there's also the fact that around the time Soyeon would have written that song, she was (het stuff)
dating a p*ntagon member.
speaking of the on-going song inspiration joke, this one is pretty funny because it's for Oh My God (I can't find the original video with eng subs anymore, sorry have to make due with a clip from a shipping video lol):
i could never tell with this interview if Yuqi had no idea what she was implying by joking she was the inspiration LOL or... not? what's also extra funny about this clip is if you notice Miyeon off on the left, she starts making a big X motion with her arms at yuqi to get her to stop LOL. poor yuqi if she didn't realize
it's interesting though if Yuqi at that point didn't understand what Oh My God was about. because that means Soyeon never directly told her, or maybe any of the members, and wrote this gay-ass anthem for the group to sing without running it by them. If Yuqi DID know, it was pretty bold of her to joke about it like that. and if you want to delulu it being true, VERY bold.
just for fun if we want to clown about yuyeon, here's my trip down delulu memory lane and a few sus things I remember:
this was a photo soyeon posted on universe or something. the caption was about how she just woke up but took a photo to support students taking an exam (I think CSAT) even looking like that. I think she was referring to her bedhead.
but who's room is that? it's not hers.
sooo she's in her pajamas with bedhead, just woke up and is in yuqi's room. not hard to guess who took the photo and then added a bunch of heart filters to it. cute sleepover?
yuqi had soyeon's contact info saved in her phone as "captain" with heart emojis lol. cute.
this interview moment was kind of odd (sorry again I can't find the original upload, ship moments video it is):
the thing that stood out to me was minnie's reaction. soyeon is being asked about something she has with her all the time or would be sad to go without and yuqi is trying to get soyeon's attention to mention her as an answer (and then gets all pouty when she doesn't say yuqi). whatever, regular kind ship stuff. but look at minnie.. she's looking between the two of them and then straight up rolls her eyes? i never knew what to make of that. because it just seemed like regular teasing/ship stuff between members, I don't know why Minnie would look sort of... annoyed? never knew what to make of it, but her reaction was a little sus to me.
there's also something about the lyrics to all of the songs on I Trust. (excluding Lion). I'm fairly sure all the songs are about the same relationship but just from different perspectives and feelings about that relationship. There's a thematic overlap in the writing. Luv U has a lot of the same themes of temptation and being in a relationship that's "wrong" like Oh My God. Not to mention she calls her love interest in Luv U "foxy." The way the songs are written just don't feel like it's a male love interest. so if you want to go full delusional mode, you could look at how some of the lyrics for all those songs fit Yuqi a bit.
But stepping back from the delulu stuff.. I think ultimately they were just close friends and have now drifted apart. Breaking down the timeline for soyeon and yuqi's other suspected relationships and when soyeon might have been writing these songs, not to mention you don't really see any tension between them that would indicate some sort of break-up.. it doesn't really line up. Maybe if something happened and was brief? Possible.
If Yuqi is bisexual, I think at that point in time she was probably more closeted and possibly not fully comfortable or hadn't come to terms with it. Makes me wonder when Yuqi found out Soyeon was bi tbh. god I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall for whenever Yuqi figured out what Oh My God is about.
I thought it was interesting how some of the lyrics on LOST (written by Yuqi) had references to Soyeon's lyrics. it might have been because Soyeon contributed to the lyrics on that song, but I think she only wrote her rap. Yuqi might have taken inspiration from some of Soyeon's lyrics, but the similarities are pretty undeniable.
The opening line on LOST: If I cover the blinding sunlight with my hand, will it get dark?
The opening line on Oh My God: Beneath the dazzling sky covering my eyes
A verse on LOST: Do you maybe remember like me?
The many warm nights pass by
If you had somehow forcefully erased me
I hope you can share how you did that
A verse on Hann (Alone in Winter): The resolve to forget you
Wavers from one wind
As if the promise to erase you…
…was a lie as well
those verse similarities are kind of.. hmmm. but who knows?
another day, another receipt. this just gets better and better. wearing the stylist's shirt at breakfast? that is INSANELY sus. I am struggling to come up with a heterosexual explanation at this point.
my final thoughts on yuqi because I find this turn of events so fascinating. as a fan of the group for a few years, I'll admit she pinged but never gave the idea she wasn't straight serious consideration. I've been thinking about this and here's a whole ass essay (seriously) maybe no one cares about but wanted to get it out there:
the stylist stuff:
I do think this is likely a relationship. there is still always a chance this is a close friendship even if this stylist is a lesbian, but there are a few things that just don't make sense to justify as platonic.
-the video of them in the elevator: the other instances of physical affection we've seen could be the friendly sort. but this really does start to cross a line into purely couple affection. the stylist is pressed up against yuqi's back when there's plenty of space for yuqi to move. the elevator is not THAT cramped. you can't see them fully in frame, but by the stylist's arm movements, it looks like she has her arms around yuqi. to me that goes way past even the most touchy sort of friendly affection.
-the reactions to them being close when they're being filmed: i always thought soyeon's reaction in the i-flex video was strange. in fact, also pay attention to Miyeon's reaction. she eventually glances over in the direction of yuqi and the stylist too and also looks uncomfortable. in the elevator, soyeon also looks annoyed, miyeon looks nervous, and even their manager is looking at them and glancing at the camera. minnie looks like she's trying not to laugh which is funny. the camera keeps panning away to try and not have them in frame. there's even a cut in the footage. why does everyone seem so concerned about the two of them if there's nothing wrong about the situation?
-sharing wardrobe: sometimes friends will borrow clothes from friends. especially accessories. it does seem to specifically be the stylist's things when yuqi could be borrowing things to wear from the other members and yet she doesn't. but I really struggle to justify yuqi wearing the stylist's shirt at breakfast at the hotel as a friends thing. i rewatched the live yuqi and Minnie filmed the night before. the live ends at 2am for them. they film it with their phone and walk around yuqi's room so you get a view of everything in her room. they even go into the closet. that shirt is NOWHERE to be seen. it's not hung up in the closet, it's not flung over a chair or desk, etc. unless it's buried in her suitcase (and why would yuqi, who probably has more clothes than she knows what to do with, somehow HAVE the stylist's shirt and pack it to bring on a 2 day trip?) she does not have that shirt between 2am and breakfast the next morning. everyone at breakfast looks like they rolled out of bed, no makeup, and threw on casual comfortable clothing. yuqi changes into different clothes when they leave for the airport that day. there's only a few conclusions you can draw from that and they don't seem very innocent.
these things in addition to everything else are hard to view as a friendship. there's just too many "coincidences" and things that add up. maybe I've got it all wrong but..
and some thoughts on yuqi's sexuality in general:
-yuqi has been fairly avoidant and seemingly ignorant about directly addressing anything lgbt. the few times she has, she comes across as nervous when it directly involves her. when the group was on that variety with the pepero game, yuqi immediately backs away and says she doesn't want to do it. a day or two after the pride flag was thrown on stage, she posted an Instagram story of her reading a book of Christian devotionals. when asked if it's wrong to like someone of the same gender, she says "no" but then gets nervous and plays ignorant yet again. but privately, she's completely comfortable being close with a butch lesbian? it doesn't make sense. she seems almost squeamish about anything "gay" yet is also totally fine having an intimate "friendship" with a lesbian. that just reads as straight up closeted behavior and someone afraid of appearing suspicious.
-the tomboy vibe and gender expression: aside from just having a "vibe" yuqi has actually embraced a boyish identity for a long time. you might not know this unless you pay attention to her china activities, but she has been calling herself 雨琦弟弟 (translates to little brother yuqi) for years. it's not a fan given name, but something everyone went along with. many fans think this is just a character she leans into because she's boyish and cute. some fans thought she even dropped this image, but during a promotion for her more recent china activities she says "雨琦弟弟 is back". she's talked about how growing up she mostly played with boys, playing sports and riding bikes and not having an interest in anything girly. she's talked about how her father raised her as a son. on a recent weibo post she made with pictures of her dressing very boyish she titled it "cool Paris boy." and the way she's been dressing the past few months has been VERY boyish. some of her outfits.. well honestly if I saw a woman walking around dressed like that i'd immediately assume she's a lesbian lol. but her styling for the stage and regular group activities and promo is still mostly feminine. it's not as though the company is trying to push a girl crush image on her. this seems like a personal choice she is expressing. (also I'm not implying this is a trans thing, because gender expression can be a big part of sexual orientation. and yes I'm aware that straight women can also identify with a more masculine identity). it's really interesting to read opinions about this from Chinese fans (and a little difficult to understand because i rely on google translate and a couple years of mandarin i took a long time ago). some are genuinely confused about her "little brother" identity at this point and why she hasn't dropped it.
-she's been recently expressing messaging of being proud of yourself, to not be ashamed, and to not hide who you are. in her latest bday cover music video she's wearing a mask (that she takes off at the end), and it ends with a message of: always be proud of "yourself", and then the quotes around "yourself" disappear. is she having some inner struggle with her identity and being open about who she is? around the same time she is starting to explore an even more boyish image than she ever has? AND very likely dating a woman?
- the arguments for her being straight are because she's "boy crazy".. which why? she stans a boy group? she has also been a HUGE taeyon fan for just as long and has talked about wanting to get close to her and people ignore her also fangirling over women. she had a het rumor that has a lot of debunked "evidence" and the other party made a statement denying it. she films a lot of variety content with men and is shipped with them even though they treat her like a little brother. she looks completely comfortable around them in a friendly way and doesn't appear nervous or flustered or flirtatious. i don't get the boy crazy thing at all.
honestly, I wouldn't even rule out the idea that she's a lesbian. why would a bi woman who's that afraid of being personally associated with anything lgbt even bother pursuing a relationship with someone of the same sex? those are the sort of bi women I imagine never actually dating another woman and end up with only men. a bi woman that's more of a free spirit and doesn't give a fuck about being open (like soyeon?) - I could see those sorts of bi idols actually dating a woman. but that's definitely not Yuqi. if she's that closeted and afraid of being suspected, she could easily just date men. so that is interesting to me. or idk maybe she just likes this woman THAT much that she's willing to risk it.
I just started watching G-idle videos, I didn't even know their names 3h ago and I get the feeling that Miyeon has a massive crush on Yuqi, at least in their latest interviews lol

DA same lol. It's cute seeing new people and their reads on the members. All the recent content has a different vibe than the old stuff and the old ships aren't really a thing anymore.
I don't wanna rain on anon's parade, but I am curious why they think that. I wouldn't invest too much into the idea of group member crushes right now, but it's fun I guess.

miyeon won't stop staring at yuqi and they keep unnecessarily touching each other, idk it probably doesnt mean anything but it caught my attention
also i cant get over how good looking all of them are omggggg

lol the girls have always been touchy with each other. It’s friendly. The fanservice is really toned down these days though. if you were to go watch their older varieties and lives you’d probably think they’re all dating lol.
A few of the members seem to be in relationships right now (not with each other) so the crush theories should be more for fun. they are a fun group to watch, so enjoy regardless! I think their older variety is a lot better than a lot of the recent stuff.

Soyeon, Yuqi and Miyeon.
These are of course suspicions, and some suspicions stronger than others. I won't go into too much detail because some of this is het talk.
Soyeon:
That guy from single's inferno even though they both denied it. Cube has denied relationships in the past which were true, and there are a lot of things that link them together. My other hunch is someone she used to work with at cube.
Miyeon:
There's talk she has a boyfriend, but I don't know specifics. I've suspected she's been in a relationship for the past year or so for various reasons.
Yuqi:
Potentially her stylist, they have a close relationship that's very suspicious. Could be good friends, but there are a couple things that indicate it's possibly more than that. She could also be dating the person she had those rumors about back in 2022. If that's the case, it makes the stylist situation even weirder lol.
Anyone still here? Or have all the nevies finally ditched this forum?
My thoughts on the comeback so far:
I really don’t know where they are going with this. The teaser video is so different than the concept photos they’ve released so far. I don’t think it will actually have anything to do with the album concept.
What is the album concept though? So far I’m seeing a 2nd gen sexy/mature concept and the girls look great, but it seems so shallow compared to everything else they have done in the past.
I don’t mind a sexy concept at all but I hope it’s not too male-gaze without much of a message to justify it.
The album packaging is mid too. The logo stuff is clever and I liked the teaser video but overall I am not sure how much I am feeling this so far.
Love the teaser vid! I liiiive for dark concepts, that's what attracted me in the first place with them ("Oh My God"). Musically, my absolute faves are "I Burn" and "I Trust", and I hope in the future there's gonna be more stuff like that. All this queencard barbie thing is kinda no jam for me ngl ANYWAYS, FINGERS CROSSED THERE'S ZERO HETERO ACTIVITIES IN THE MV CAUSE GIRL I WANT MY GAY IDLE BACK

concept photos today are soooo much better. I don't have hope for gay gidle coming back so I'll be happy enough without the hetero shit. please girls how do you not know your fan base. I swear if they pull a Taeyeon
I've been keeping tabs still... nothing big to update. A couple wardrobe shares but I can't say there's been anything mega sus. tbh I'm not really expecting that though. I also am not posting image receipts anymore. I set all the images posted here to eventually expire on the host website just in case. whether or not the stylist thing is true, I didn't think it would be a good idea to have those up indefinitely. sorry if that's a little hypocritical of me considering I potentially exposed something here in the first place.
observing the free time when they are on tour: some fans have taken photos and videos of the members out and about. i notice yuqi tends to gravitate to the stylist a lot. it is cute. they're usually walking side by side or yuqi will run over to her, sit next to her etc. but they also aren't together 100% of the time. Most of the time they are, but a couple times the stylist has gone off with other members. they aren't completely attached at the hip.
judging by yuqi's recent music like could it be and the audio snippet of one of her songs on the new album, assuming she's writing from her own experiences, it does seem like she's booed up in general. an interesting tidbit is the name of the song "rollie..." I didn't know what that word was supposed to mean but after googling it, it's apparently slang for rolexes or self-rolled cigarettes (not sure if its also weed). the stylist is a smoker so... but that could be a stretch because tons of koreans are smoking lol.
i always find it a tiny bit sus when idols don't post about what they're doing on Christmas, and this year yuqi was pretty MIA on social around that time. the only thing the stylist posted was going out to a big dinner with the entire make-up and styling team. she doesn't post that frequently on Instagram in general, though.
also want to note one thing on the clothes sharing. I did see in a recent airport photo shuhua wearing one of the stylist's shirts. minnie also wore one of the stylist's necklaces in a behind the scenes video. So it looks like the stylist isn't loaning clothes exclusively to yuqi, but it's not neeeearly as often with the other members. I have no idea if there's a strange wardrobe sharing situation with the stylist or she's just very generous and it's like an act of kindness and she's being a bro lol. just something to consider because I'm trying to remain objective here.
overall, I do get strong vibes that yuqi is seeing someone. the stylist is a very strong suspect IMO. if they're just close friends, whoever yuqi is dating doesn't mind her having this type of friendship with a lesbian. I could see a man not taking it seriously. But if this stylist has an SO... boy, I have a hard time imagining even the most trusting GF in the world being okay with what this stylist is pulling with a very attractive female k-pop idol. I also still am not sure what the alternate explanation is for soyeon & co throwing yuqi those dity and uncomfortable looks unless yuqi was being shady or something. if she's not dating the stylist, there's potentially another possibility, but I hesitate to get into that because I'm unsure.
i still think they are suspiciously close. just really strange behavior from a woman who has come off as sort of squeamish about gay stuff to now be so down with the couple-like "bestie" stuff with an out lesbian.
I'll probably be a little more careful in how I post about this here (no photos) and will stay objective in how all the receipts can be interpreted.

Hi anon!!! Just wanted to thank you so much for your incredible detective work and observations. This thread has been some of the most nuanced, legitimately grounded theorizing about a kpop idol I've ever seen. From my perspective as someone not involved in the Gidle fandom (and thus without a stake in anything), you seem to have been very objective. At this point, it's hard to imagine a possibility in which Yuqi is not dating the stylist, if only because the rest of the group's reaction to them together on camera was pretty telling. If it was strictly a friendship, even a blurred-lines one, why would the group be acting in such a concerned/uncomfortable (or amused like Minnie was in that clip) way to their closeness? That, coupled with the other clues you've tracked down and Yuqi's own behavior in terms of 'gay stuff,' makes it seem like them being in a relationship is kind of the only plausible unifying thread of all of this.
Also, the receipt about Yuqi wearing the stylist's shirt the morning following the 2 am live was pretty telling, lol. I'm a bit bummed the pics have expired bc I wanted to take another trip down memory lane and relive the excitement of reading this saga LOL, but totally understand why it's safer to make them expire should any unhinged denizens of Kpop twitter find this page. Anyway, just wanted to thank you so much and I will always look forward to any more thoughts you have to share about Yuqi or the group in general.
Btw--any thoughts about Minnie? I think you had mentioned (sorry if it was a different anon) that Soyeon was most likely dating the guy from Single's Inferno and Miyeon seemed to be in a relationship. Miyeon has never appeared suspicious to me, although I think she and the rest of the group are def allies, but from what I understand Minnie had pre debut receipts?
I have no idea if there's a strange wardrobe sharing situation with the stylist or she's just very generous and it's like an act of kindness and she's being a bro lol. just something to consider because I'm trying to remain objective here.

ha yeah sorry about the pics. when I first started posting about this I was extremely skeptical myself so didn't really consider i'd be posting things that could be exposing someone. well, the "tea" is on this thread now but at least if people want photo evidence they have to hunt for it themselves. it still doesn't seem like this has spread or anyone else is openly talking about something suspicious. i keep tabs on the cfans and kfans. i don't think kfans would talk about this at all even if they noticed, they don't like the stylists and probably dislike that the members are close to the staff. cnetz are more gossipy, but they mostly know about yuqi's het receipt so she's been clocked as straight in their eyes.
about the other members in terms of dating:
Soyeon:
rumored to have dated w**seok of p*ntagon. dated the rapper ch*ngmo. she could be dating or was dating that s*ngle's inferno guy, but there's also been discussion about her with a woman who worked at cube.
Yuqi:
photographed going to j*ckson w*ng's house in late 2021 when she was in china
Miyeon:
had a pre-debut BF, they were photographed together on a trip in japan. I heard rumors of her with j*yeon of the b*yz and H*echan of N*T but those are just rumors, take with a big grain of salt. I've heard she has a BF currently but don't know who.
Shuhua:
I have nothing on her, apparently, she is straight
Soojin:
dated H*i from p*ntagon
Minnie:
The pre-debut stuff:
I'm just going to repost some comments made in this thread:
I saw some comments on OneHallyu, made at the same time as this video above, in 2020. I remember someone posted it on TheLChat spam and here too*. Well... proof... it's complicated, I just repeated the rumors I read, but it seems that it was Minnie's old twitter, minicha or minichaj, something like that. That rumor said that she dated/had a thing with a senior student at her all-girls school. I can't elaborate more because I saw it a long time ago, so this is what a remember. This can be true or just another fanfic...
and
Back in early 2021, I tried to stalk Minnie's old Twitter accounts. The accounts had been deleted, but there was still a way to view friends' comments at the time. It was very difficult for me to come to any conclusions about her because of the language. The translation was strange and some words were not translated. If anyone tries to find something, the accounts were minicha and minichaj.
I could be wildly mistaken, but I suspect that the girl Minnie supposedly dated today is one of those Thai Tomboys who use masculine pronouns.
Minnie also had a We Heart It account, but it disappeared as soon as she opened her Instagram. In the account, there were some images from romantic movies, mainly Cmbyn, photos of J1min and B0bby IK0n, clichés like "don't let my parents know about my cigarettes" and about boys (she unfortunately likes men). One thing I do remember is that the last two images on Minnie's account were of women in lingerie... I don't know what that means.
I think the user was minnicha, I don't remember.
Aside from that in terms of Minnie, she's written some lyrics with sapphic vibes and her love songs are about "pretty" people but she also seems to be a fan of feminine men like t*mothy ch*alamet and tr*ye s*van. she gets called a fujoshi a lot. she gives big ally energy and her brother is openly gay. unlike all the other members aside from shuhua, she's been very good at keeping her dating life under wraps and hasn't been caught up in any rumors. she's either a lot luckier and a lot less sloppy than the other members, or she might be dating non-celebs with private social media accounts, so the only way she'd get caught is if she is photographed with them.
Oh, don't take me too seriously, I might have misunderstood some things, especially when I mention that I think I know who Minnie's "ex-girlfriend" is. I can't even be sure if she really had a girlfriend. Sorry for not having screenshots of Minnie's profiles, I probably deleted them, thinking they were too useless. But I'm sure the lingerie girls account was hers, the username was similar to what she always used, and it was very Minnie to be just a fan's. While going through my gallery, I found images. It's nothing significant, just to show that these Minnie profiles existed on Twitter and I'm not that crazy, that's all.

There is an account ".m.n.cha" on X opened in 2018. I believe it's hers.
Now it's possible to read Minnie's old interactions with her friends again

ah! that was you? I never took it as confirmation of the supposed "ex GF" it's just a rumor still. did you find those accounts on your own btw? if so I'm curious how. I find it difficult to find tea on minnie in comparison to the other members. most I've heard about her has all been pre-debut stuff. I know there was also a photo of her with some guy and she was holding a flower bouquet so people were speculating that was a boyfriend, but also might have just been a friend. still pre-debut stuff though.
i find it so interesting that Minnie doesn't have a lot of tea or gossip post-debut. i could just be looking in the wrong places. but I also think knetz are less interested in her in terms of gossip, they tend to be more curious about the Korean members, miyeon especially. they don't like yuqi and shuhua as much because of the china/taiwan stuff, yuqi especially because she posted something pro CCP. but you can find a lot of gossip on them from the cnetz/cfan side. because minnie is thai, I think she's maybe in a weird place as a foreigner in terms of that sort of interest. but she also could honestly just be a lot less sloppy than the other members as I said lol. it's just funny how the other members have more rumors and receipts than her. maybe she's a smart girl and knows how to be careful. or she's been lucky. I really wish I had more info, but my detective skills haven't been much help in digging up anything more current on her.

Yes, I found it on my own. How? I really don't remember, it was a little before "Hwaa," so it's been a while. At that time, I was quite obsessed with Minnie and probably searched all possible combinations of her name. I think Minnie from the pre-debut days was a bit careless because once I found one thing, it was relatively easy to find other information about her. Honestly, her username was practically the same on all social media platforms. Her Instagram username has been the same since I found it years ago, I find that kind of silly. Surely, she has become more cautious about her personal life, especially now that she's much more famous, but I still think there's a lot of luck involved, as no one, as far as I know, has found anything else about her. Or if someone has, they must be keeping it quiet. I don't have the same energy to go crazy investigating her life or anyone else's like I did before.
Super Lady reactions look pretty mixed so far. I like it though but the track length is a bummer. Sounds very YG.
Wow also the MV was gayer than I expected. Outside of those shots of Minnie and Soyeon and shuhua and Yuqi, did anyone else notice the only men in the MV were very obviously styled and directed to be… um..very flamboyant. I even wonder if the men they hired for this were actually gay. I guess that does fit well into the Diva concept and the Beyoncé and Lady Gaga influence.
I like a lot of the B-sides. Minnie very much in her New Jeans era. Lyricist Miyeon! Yuqi with a swagger song.
It’s criminal how short this album is though. This is an EP, not a full length album.
Also the official album design is horrendous. Who approved that??

I agree with almost everything you've said.
I absolutely loved the Super Lady's MV! It's so powerful. And Minnie and Soyeon... Oh my gosh, that was so sexy, so gay of them. That's why gidle is my favorite. I am still mesmerized.
I also noticed the twinks. Like, they have all the mannerisms, so I think they are indeed gay men. That was funny... seeing those probably gay men in that context and outfits. Maybe gidle knows their fanbase.
I am getting worried about how Super Lady is performing on the Korean charts. I don't understand how it works, but it doesn't seem good at the moment (don't hate me if I am being dumb here).... .I hope the song does well on the charts, they put a lot of effort into it, and it was so expensive!! I love them for their music and how funny they are, but I also want them to reach #1 on the charts.
I don't like that music is getting shorter! Is this TikTok's fault? Is it a NJ syndrome? NJ has a great song that's only 30 seconds long. What's the problem, guys? I really hate this trend. Just 7days is at least 3 minutes long. It doesn't look like a full album.
stumbling upon this for the first time and reading so many comments adamant about yuqi being straight, acting as if any news to the contrary is some big upset to expectations and such... how can somebody's gaydar be so broken? yuqi is one of the most obviously non-straight kpop idols I've ever seen

Btw, I loved Vision and Revenge!! What about you?
The reaction to Super Lady right now is mixed, but that was also the same for Queencard and look how that was their biggest hit. Wife being released for streaming early also might have an impact on chart performance. We need to wait and see if Super Lady picks up the pace on Melon, but I wouldn't worry too much right now. I doubt it will be hitting any #1 spots because IU will be dominating the charts for a while.
Album sales are doing surprisingly well. Already broke 1M and I think people were skeptical about Cube's 1.8M pre-order number. The bigger bars are boycotting, China's economy is struggling (along with the PC market), and looking at the drop in sales of Itzy and NMIXX's comebacks made it seem like the k-pop market was potentially in a slump. I have no idea where all these sales are coming from considering China is a huge portion of the fanbase. The song might not chart as high, but album sales are already looking like a win. We'll see if it can hit the stock pre-order number.
Song length is probably a product of streaming. Shorter song length = more streams. It sucks and I hate that the group caved to that trend.
I like Revenge, Doll, 7 days, and Rollie (which unfortunately has a het line from Yuqi. Oh well).

DA I'm curious, does the fandom have an idea which countries the fandom grew the most? I mean those sales indicate the fandom is growing. US? Europe? Japan?
It's not only Itzy or nmixx but also top bgs who experienced a drop in sales or little growth (svt, skz, t*xt) last year but it's also possible those groups already reached their peak or their previous comebacks weren't that successful. Usually sales of a comeback are the indication how successful was the last comeback since the most of fans buy during pre-order period. Another reason could be after the influx of new groups debuts last year, many kpop fans are now stanning more groups (so less money to spend per group) or dropping their previous groups for newer ones.

When I say "previous comebacks weren't that successful" I mean they were less successful than their previous cbs or they didn't make enough impact to gain a lot of new fans like past cbs

No, people aren’t sure where the sales are coming from and are baffled at Cube’s 1.8M PO - and the group might actually hit that.
I know there were a surprising amount of streams coming from Russia, but that would be a lot of organized buying power and we’d hear about EU GOs that size. The question really is what’s going on with China. On weibo they’re so skeptical about the numbers, they think Cube might be trying to pull something shady to inflate album sales for shareholders (as if Cube could even afford to do that). The sales from the bars are much lower in comparison to previous comebacks because of the boycotts. That would mean a lot of individual Chinese buyers not ordering through the bars. It would be amazing to stick it to the bars though and take them down a notch. Sales don’t need to be carried by groups that boycott over whiny bullshit.
The domestic fanbase might really be carrying sales as well. It’s hard to say if the fandom in the US has grown enough to offset lower sales from China, but I doubt it.
Queencard was massive, and I think the success of that song brought in a lot of fans from all over who are willing to buy albums. It’s really interesting that the group seems to be not as affected by the sales slump other groups are facing.
Super Lady however is having a struggle on the charts lol.. domestic GP really isn’t feeling a 2nd gen sound it seems. It’s REALLY funny to see Wife outchart it. Some dumbass meme song might get in the top 10 while the title track stays mid lmao.
It’s a fun song but as a concept it’s less interesting than previous comebacks. Like, yes women!! I’m here for that. But this whole album concept still feels… what even is it lol? Feminist Diva 2nd gen? I hope they promote some of the other bsides.
Super Lady reactions look pretty mixed so far. I like it though but the track length is a bummer. Sounds very YG.
Wow also the MV was gayer than I expected. Is it possible chinese fans are buying outside of bars? Like you said Queencard did so well so that comeback brought so many new fans maybe from different places so there's not an influx of fans only in one or two places.
About Cube being shady, it's easy to prove in their next tour. If the fandom is growing it should translate to a bigger tour and also bigger streams but if the fandom has no idea where those sales are coming from, it'll be hard to know because those fans couldn't use plataforms different to spotify or Gidle could not be touring in their countries. What about south america?
I mean like I said the previous comeback is what matters for next comeback sales so if other groups cbs weren't massive, the growth won't be big, if you add new groups debuting so more groups to stan and kpop fans loving new shiny toys..
Another reason could be some pandemic fans move on from kpop or the initial group they stanned when they got into kpop.
Sales can also depend on number of comebacks. It's not the same to have one comeback per year than several comebacks per year.
I also read photocard market is a mess because many fans buy many albums for collection purposes but companies are releasing too many versions which is impossible to collect so some fans give up and they end up buying less versions.
There are so many factors which could affect sales drop This year we'll see if the general drop in sales was only an exception in 2023 or it'll continue in 2024. It's also possible some those groups reached a temporal or definite peak, I mean it's hard to grow comeback after comeback.
There's also another logical reason, the massive growth was driven by the pandemic and that bubble burst once the pandemic was over (people had more money to spend in albums since you couldn't go out and go to concerts) and now we're seeing the effect. Like imagine you want to go to 2 or 3 kpop concerts that year, you're gonna prioritize to save money for those concerts over buying albums.
And the reason why some groups aren't being affected like gidle is because their massive previous comebacks so they can still overcome that. I think drop in sales is a mix of reasons instead of only one, the main one is the pandemic bubble bursting (just look the all laying off happening from big companies), kpop fans stanning more groups than before and the success of previous comeback.
Guys, what's going on here? I had high expectations about the charts because of the previous comebacks, but it doesn't look good, and they're already promoting. I'm starting to honestly think it would be better if they hadn't come back now, every day there's news about some GIDLE member feeling unwell or going to the hospital.

Kpop bubble bursting as others said + IU dominating charts. Sucky thing is her song was a prerelease too so she's just gonna be topping the charts for entirety of February through March.

It looks like the public liked more "wife" than super lady but super lady can still climb up in the next weeks

The song just isn’t hitting with the GP. It’s a throwback 2nd gen sound releasing in a time where the public is eating up New Jeans. It also lacks a strong memorable hook and they took a big risk letting the member with the most divisive voice open up the song.
Wife is charting decently because at the end of the day it’s an actual ear worm.
Soyeon honestly just missed on this one. There’s a lot of this comeback that feels rushed and underbaked.
They definitely couldn’t afford to hold off on the comeback. They already missed a 2nd comeback last year because of Heat. The group is speed-running the last 2 years of this contract. Their schedules have been brutal lately. This year we’ll get a tour + 2nd comeback and probably a solo album.
On the plus side, album sales are looking pretty good.
lol did y'all see the MV reaction? 90% of it is just the members talking about the "love"/couple scenes. lmao I never thought they would address that so directly:
on one hand, I feel like I should be annoyed by "women high-fiving about queerbaiting" but they're being so candid about it and it's interesting to hear them talk about what it's like shooting scenes like that. imagine the behind the scenes discussion about that. who makes that decision? does soyeon tell the director "we need to shoot a few spicy gay scenes for.. reasons." (what are those reasons btw? soyeon wrote oh my god and then realized she needs to throw her lesbian fans a bone every now and then lmao?) or did she just want this MV to be gay? because they went through the effort of casting twinks too. it's walking a fine line of baiting and representation.
So, no gay Yuqi I guess. Her and Minnie were talking about liking the same b*y at that school tv show
They actually never specified a gender the eng subtitles always add male pronouns, but tbh yeah it was probably a boy. I don't think it's that's surprising no?

Def a b*y, sadly Minnie is clearly into them, no lesbian or even bisexual girl I know is into that mlm crap, especially as Hard as she is. It's not that big of a surprise, but not gonna lie, those anons with their essays got some lez hope circulating through this thread

Fun speculation while it lasted! Too bad. Yuqi might be an oblivious straight woman, but at least she's not homophobic and is comfortable having a close friendship with a butch woman. I was on the fence about Yuqi having something going on with the stylist, but now I'm pretty sure it wasn't a thing. Her old couple bracelet made a reappearance in the latest choreo behind the scenes i-talk. I've suspected she's been dating a certain someone, and that bracelet popping up again seals it for me.
The mystery of the elevator remains unsolved.
Ugh, now our only likely bisexual is off dating some basic love island bro. I was so here for the excitement. Sorry for the depressing het talk.
The absolute SUS VIBES of two k-pop idols collaborating on a song (in both lyrics and concept), about a secret relationship and the only evidence of it is supposedly an unreleased title track one of them wrote... like I cannot lmao.
I hope you’ll forgive me for bringing up a 2 years old post since I was catching up on old stuff…. If you’re still here, person who was delulu over the meaning of Dark and the X-File… After looking at dates of things and evidence, I’m right there with you in clown town.
In other news, has anyone watched their recording process of Super Lady? It’s so cool to see their process and Soyeon’s leadership.

I know lots of bi women who like mlm. Also, SK is extremely conservative. Talking about boy crushes honestly means nothing. It could be to fend off rumors. Just look up what happens to openly LGBT idols in SK. So tbh I think you can still consider any member to be possibly queer.
Supposedly there was an insider who knew her sister and said she's straight/never expressed any interest in girls. I always thought she was sus before hearing that, but that seems to be the consensus.

DA That's what I've heard too. No tea on the Chinese side she's anything but straight. On the other hand, I've never heard a single dating rumor about her. I get the feeling she's an ally but very private and potentially traditional.
