Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I pray this stays open and I can discuss things with my fellow ajummas. Hi everyone!
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Welcome, we don't have much time. This for sure will be closed soon
Remember 30 and older!

Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I don't understand why this needs to be closed though. Don't the rest of you feel a great disconnect with the baby posters discussing baby things?

Also any recent tea on Kim Hyun-joo? She's so private but she's gotta be fam, right
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Which shows with her would you recommend?Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 16:15My love for Yoo In Na belongs here I guess
On a slightly different topic, is Mine a mandatory viewing? I missed the hype here when it was airing. I love Lee Bo-young though.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Honestly it's a good idea far too many bihet and straight trolls in the other thread also constant talk about teenagers of the 4th gen is kinda off putting for me.
Maybe we should do that for every thread, one for people who want only 100% gay discussions about adults and one for the dispatch obsessed straight trolls ans haters

Loved her in Hellbound! What is the not recent tea? I wasn't aware she could be fam.Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 16:16Also any recent tea on Kim Hyun-joo? She's so private but she's gotta be fam, right
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
you hags better drop that yuri in brown blazer pic!
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
DA/ hmmm, I would say yes. Honestly, the more I think about that show the more I appreciate it. They were able to be clear with the massage without alienating conservative viewers. Really smart approach imo. Hopefully it will lead to more LGBT characters in the future in kdramas.
ps I love Lee Bo-young too! Se was really amazing in it and her chemistry with KSH was so awesome and effortless.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I think Mine is absolutely mandatory viewing! It's lez, it's feminist, it's full of stunning women, it's wildly entertaining. Kind of can't believe it got made.

Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Apocalyptic trio. They need to have at least one mandatory post here.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I like her shows with Lee Dong Wook. Goblin and I forgot the title of it.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I wouldn't mind the next GOT lineup with those three in it, as long as the lyrics are empowering and the music represents the ladies involved. I wouldn't want that lineup to be wasted trying to promote someone else.Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 16:32Apocalyptic trio. They need to have at least one mandatory post here.
So... Probably not going to happen.

love the idea. I hope this thread stays open. Seeing you guys posting things about Kim Hyun Joo and Kim Seo Hyung makes me want stay here forever
And talking about Mine, it is really mandatory to watch, it’s a delight in every single aspect.

Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Speaking of Mine, the show is on various year end lists etc, but for those who know reality of TV awards in SK, do they actually stand a chance to be nominated to sth? Like I only care because I want to see the cast together again.
It was a great cast

Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
SK TV awards are a bit of a joke - most of the major ones are broadcaster-based (so Mine can’t even be nominated for those). The most important one that is not broadcaster-based, baeksang, isn’t until later in the year … I think nominations at least definitely possible (tvn dramas do quite well there because of their generally higher quality)Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 16:56Speaking of Mine, the show is on various year end lists etc, but for those who know reality of TV awards in SK, do they actually stand a chance to be nominated to sth? Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
x2 they sure are! I love them. Idk what exactly they are but I want what they have. Sad their friendship is now under wraps, often or not they’re only seen thru private setting. I didn’t know YIN took this 2019 article literally, she’s been inactive on her career I guess being IU’s muse pays off and is 100% worth it
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
^ I heard IU is a very good person, helping single moms and so on. So seeing the stuff with Yoo In-na and her is pretty heartwarming.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I’ve always found them fascinating - especially in a country like SK where age hierarchy is everything (with people not being considered “friends” even if they’re only a couple of years apart)Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 17:11^ I heard IU is a very good person, helping single moms and so on. Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
x5 I admire IU and her long term “friendship” with YIN is preciousGuest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 17:11^ I heard IU is a very good person, helping single moms and so on. So seeing the stuff with Yoo In-na and her is pretty heartwarming.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Whatever their relationship really is, just imagine being IU's muse, getting serenaded by her and all. I would be a puddle on the floor.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
speaking of... BoA's pixie cut/short era and the number of kpop baby gays that she gave birth with that look is truly hard to comprehand. A moment to remember for sure and I do not understand why we don't see that sort of style dominant, alpha (for lack of better word) style more often these days in gg. With BoA it lasted for a while because pretty much from 2005 ("Girls on Top") till 2010 (peak pixie era with album "Identity")
I mean, Jesus...this vid, her dance. wtf? No wonder little kpop girls were falling for her hard.
It was honestly such a concept.

Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I've only now realized there is 11(!) years of difference between those two. For some reason I thought IU was a little older. That really is pretty unusual by Korean standards.Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 17:16I’ve always found them fascinating - especially in a country like SK where age hierarchy is everything (with people not being considered “friends” even if they’re only a couple of years apart)Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 17:11^ I heard IU is a very good person, helping single moms and so on. Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
Oh yes thank you. Really like her as Sunny. I didn’t even think she was pretty at first but she has v strong charisma and I love that she really loves books and did projects on them
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
this is my style
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
I refuse to believe IU and YIN are not together. Their age differences and that extra was, living close by and always in each other’s apartments.. Nahh they’re hiding in plain sight
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
oooh, shit, I remember someone in Mine thread rec this show and one day I'm checking -it's on Netflix, the next day it was gone I'll have to use less offficial ways. But yeat, totally my next bingewatch. Heard a lot of good stuff about that show.
Re: Korean Entertainment Wave
x10 also imagine being IU’s neighbor that you get to hang out with her 24/7? YIN is practically living everyone’s dream.Guest wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 17:23Whatever their relationship really is, just imagine being IU's muse, getting serenaded by her and all. I would be a puddle on the floor.
