The second female lead in the drama Goodbye Earth is lesbian. She doesn't have a love interest but it's mentioned that she is lez.
Interestingly the same actress is supposed to play a lez character in her upcoming drama as well.
The army lady? In which episode? I thought she looked and acted very lesbian, but missed the scene where it was mentioned.
In episode 11 I think. There is a scene where she talks about this and that her mother wasn't supportive of her liking girls. Then the priest friend tells her that she should talk to her mother since they don't have much time left
I also thought the drama implied that she loves the female lead.

I had been meaning to watch Mr. Sunshine for a long time. Mostly because I like historical stories and this one is set when Japan's colonization of Korea began. But I kept putting it off because it has 24 episodes.

I'm so glad I finally saw it because this is one of the best K dramas I have ever seen. It doesn't fail to entertain, the story is riveting, the characters are interesting, and although it is ultimately heartbreaking for so many reasons the series from start to finish is enthralling.

The greatest delight (and surprise) was Kim Tae-ri, who I soon recognized as the maid in Park Chan-Wook's "The Handmaiden". Every time she was onscreen I was fascinated by her. She really pulled off the character of a noblewoman who becomes an anti-Japan freedom fighter. The series belongs to her.

Another treat is Kim Min-jung as the intriguing owner of a popular hotel.

If you've heard about Mr. Sunshine (granted, not the best title) and have wondered if it's worth watching: yes it is! You will not be disappointed.
x2. Saw it last year and it's one of my faves. It became the 3rd highest rated series in Korean cable TV history. Btw, it was written by Kim Eun-sook, who also wrote The Glory. She's been behind several highly regarded K-ds.

How much is there focus on het romance?
99% of K dramas are going to include het romance, one way or another. In this one the romance is never physically consummated (there isn't even a kissing scene). Attraction and passion is expressed differently.

Even if her choices mean that Go Ae-shin (Kim Tae-ri), the lead female character, would never see the lead male again, she does not abandon her conviction to fight for the autonomy of her country.

Kudo Hina (Kim Min-jung) uses her wealth and influence to fool ambitious men, and secretly help the emperor (the last king of Joseon).

Do we know who is cast as the love interest (Kwon bu-yeong) in Jeong Nyeon? For some reason they seem real hush hush about it.
"they seem real hush hush about it."

The production behind it is "hush hush" about details but you expect someone here to have access to what hasn't been made public?

Girl, if anyone here could find info about it -- so can YOU. Do a sm dumpster dive and see what you come up with.
I'm not really good at Googling things or going through social media, so thought I might have missed something on my ''deep dive''. Isn't it normal to ask this kind of question on forums where people might know? Some people here are really good at this kind of thing. There might be some rumors out there.

Why you being such a bitch about it? :handbags:
DA - just ignore that anon. There is someone on these boards who attacks pretty much every post, even when it is completely unwarranted. I'm not sure about the answer to your question, but I don't think it's a bad question to ask.

The Atypical Family is pretty fun! Parasyte with superpowers basically. It's a given that I don't care for the main love story line, but it has Chun Woo-hee in the lead so i'll look past it for her. Not sure how I feel about them using a fat suit, guess they are doing it because she's going to lose the weight eventually. It always look ridiculous cause it looks like she has a double neck instead of a double chin.

The female characters drive the story forward, all men are useless or scum. That’s how they are portrayed. So you can watch it for the ladies but the story was so boring. The whole thing would have failed without Yoo Ahin's drug sandal.

Some days ago, I watched a video on the reality of the rooftop room. Heavily romanticized in K-drama, the rooftop room, in reality, is deemed unfavorable that its fee is much lower than usual rooms. Why?
First and foremost, it's temperature. The rooftop room may be found on older apartments and initially meant to be storage room. Thus, it comes without cooling and warming system. This means the temperature in the room may fluctuate between 38 degrees celcius at the peak of summer to -10 degree celcius at the peak of winter.
And, because it is initially meant to be storage room, the ventilation and the lighting may be not ideal.
The terrace really is shared space. Other tenants may use it to hang their mattresses or as smoking area.

Anyway what Seol In Ah drama should i watch ? Is Twinkling Watermelon any good ? She looks really attractive in it and it's the highest rated drama on mydramalist( although i don't really trust the ratings there)

Read my original response again. I NEVER crapped on the show or the lead actress. I replied the first thing that came to mind when I saw the post which is: “Oh it’s this guy again…”

Again, what’s wrong with what I said? What’s wrong with saying that I’m tired of seeing that actor everywhere? I assumed you’re a fan of his because you reacted the same way that obsessed fangirls on Twitter do. They snap at anyone who says anything unfavorable about their oppa.

I never said anything bad about the drama or the lead actress. You’re in L Chat. If you take a look at most threads about shows here, you’ll see posts talking badly or making fun of male actors who are in those show, it’s not uncommon here to complain about seeing them on screen. Even on this thread, if you page catch, you’ll see negative comments about male actors as well. If you can't tune out the negative comments about male actors: you've got a problem. Because LChat will always have anons who have unfavorable opinions about male actors.
You don't see how toxic your twisted logic is. A comment about an actress in a series compelled you comment about the actor in the series. You took the spotlight off the actress and put it on the actor.

Who cares who the actor is? Who cares how many series he's in? The only thing that matters is the actress. The only one I pay attention to and remember is the actress.

I’ve seen previous posts in this thread complaining about bland male leads or boring male leads yet they are not called out. So maybe you’re a fan of that drama’s male lead. That’s why you’re so pressed with my comments about him.
I'm the op that said you're a control freak.
I'm not the other ops.
You're the only one who cares about the male actor because you're the only one who latched onto him.
If you can't tune out the males in a kdrama: you've got a problem. Because kdramas will always have males getting too much screen time.
I don't care who a male actor is and how many times he's in a series because I watch kdramas for the females in them.

An op enthusiastically recommended a show because of Jo Bo-ah and you crapped on it.
When it comes to this thread you're a wet blanket.

When I watch a SoKo series on Netflix I wait until all eps are available. I don't like waiting for eps to drop per week. However, I did it for QoT solely because of Kim Ji-won. Whatever it may be about, if she's in something I'll watch it. I really liked her as Hong Hae-in in QoT .

I agree with op that said the end was bittersweet. It was a touch of reality that left me feeling sad.

All Kim Soo hyun really contributed to the drama is the acting skill he's most associated with doing: crying male. On cue, and profusely.

How the crisis would be resolved is easy to predict. But I found the ending bittersweet.

It was really entertaining but and some scenes were unintentionally funny(like the solo tango scene) . It's more like a soap opera/telenovela plot.
I didn't like the ending though and the revenge didn't really pay off.
I bet Seo Yea-ji had to stop herself from laughing over the tango obsession.

I don't disagree that the series can feel like a telenovela, but I don't think that was supposed to be intentional. Imo, the blame lies in the heavy-handed amateurish music. The music score and the songs were annoying for me. The music here is used like a hammer to overemphasize the emotions of scenes. Whoever composed it doesn't know the meaning of subtlety and instead the music beats emotional intensity to a pulp. The songs selection is also uninspired. When used correctly, songs are supposed to create atmosphere and emotional connection from the audience.

Actors, though, have no say in the music score and songs the director/producer and music supervisor choose.

But what makes you say the revenge didn't really pay off?
I was just expecting something different with the revenge.
SEO Yeaji tango scenes were cringe and she wasn't really good at it.
I really think she is cancelled for good since it's been almost 2 years since Eve and no casting news.
Eve is a 2022 production. Not enough time has passed to assume anything about Yea-ji's career. In November 2023, the breach of contract lawsuit against her by the cosmetics brand that stemmed from the allegations made about her in 2021 was dismissed by the court as unproven accusations (her agency, though, had to refund half of the advertisement model fees the company had pre-paid). She's probably taking a much-needed break from the bullsh*t.

As for the revenge:

I actually watched Eve last week lol
It was really entertaining but and some scenes were unintentionally funny(like the solo tango scene) . It's more like a soap opera/telenovela plot.

Park Eunbin was just casted in some superhero drama and she will soon start filming the other drama where she plays a crazy doctor.
I doubt they will ever film Attorney Woo season 2.

i can’t believe we didn’t get anything mason text since soljiwan. will we ever get at least that much again?
main text, don’t know what my phone is thinking
Well the Korean show ''Somebody'' had lesbian characters and even had kissing scenes. Soljiwan only had hugs/hand holding.
Another drama called Pyramid Game was released recently and it had lesbian characters. And they were the only ship in that show, it had no het pairings at all.
Also back in January a drama called LTNS with the actress Esom had lesbian stuff.
The whole drama had 6 episodes and episode number 4 was about a lesbian couple. It even showed actual sex scenes.

I started watching Goblin and wtf... It's so boring.
The first 2 episodes were ok but the next 4 ones are so boring. How is this one of most famous Kdramas? Is it because it looked much better/high budget compared to other Kdramas back in 2016.
