Eating pussy is cringe now? Fake lesbians everywhere.
Not the act but singing about it especially like moonbyul did yes
You're a fake lesbian if songs about lesbian sex make you cringe.
I can only appreciate such lyrics if my fave was singing it. Otherwise I don't like the song, I don't like the lyrics. "boatman" line makes me chuckle at the very least, the lyrics are extremely poor. And it is pretentious, trying to act like it's super deep and metaphorical etc when it's just about plain sex without anything behind that. Could be summed up to "we fuck".
I think only the people attracted to moonbyul can like the song and of course maybe if the melody etc is your type, melody is absolutely not my type as well.
Oh my god by gidle doesn't make me cringe and yet it's pretty "explicit" too. There's more of a story and meaning and musically it's top tier. Moonbyul’s song has no story and was written for her fans so they could get all hot and bothered listening to it. It's a sex song, nothing more. I think heejin's song is the same type, but it's a bit less "in your face" in the lyrics.
Da you're entitled to your own musical preferences but for me I like that Shutdown is obviously a sex song just because we get so few of those between women, and more than that it's a positive depiction of it. Nobody is doubting or hurt or being seduced against their will. I don't think it's trying to be super deep or pretentious, I think that's just you projecting your feelings on it. I also don't think the lyrics are poor either, and I like the melody and production.
I personally don't like Oh My God all that much because it paints lesbian desire as some dangerous temptation leading to hell, or like a drug you're addicted to that destroys you but you can't give up. Relationships can be complicated but I think it's pretty problematic to put that image out there in a country where most of the population literally does still think lesbianism is a sin. And I think it was a total cop-out for Soyeon to say in their showcase that it was about self-love or whatever meaning you want to bring to it. But you know, maybe the struggle speaks to some listeners and it was certainly a very popular song.
When did Heejin write a lesbian sex song?
I think that's a little bit of a reductive way of looking at Oh My God. Sure, it has lots of themes and metaphors for temptation and sin, but it's more about an internalized experience of those feelings brought on by a society that says falling in love with another woman is a sin and is wrong. The song even resolves at the end with the lyric "No matter what people say, fall in love." The self-love explanation is really not how she spoke about it, that's some weird thing that was spread among fans after the fact. She's spoken about it more as trusting in herself and her heart, as she learns to trust that her heart and love are in the right, not what the people around her say. That's really what the song is about. Someone struggling with society pressuring them that the love they feel is wrong and an evil temptation, and coming to trust themselves above what other people believe. You should go back and read/listen to the actual interviews. Sure, she's not going to blatantly say "This song is about falling in love with another woman" but she's a little more specific than it being generically self-love.
Maybe you'd prefer a more positive and uplifting sapphic song and that's fine, but I think someone expressing a conflict about their internal feelings vs other people's beliefs and a struggle with their sexuality is at least honest.
