Even when Ellen came out at the top of her career, it was groundbreaking sure but it also temporarily damaged her career and led to depression and declining mental health. People often wrongly attribute the evolution of Hollywood solely to her coming out but in reality it was her show "The Ellen Show" that did it. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, Is it cruel? Yes but it takes someone to do it to start change. It doesn't matter how it's done. In the bigger scheme of things it'll help Korea move forward. This is how revolutions start... One person starts it and the rest follow. You're saying it won't change South Korea and I'm sure people from 30 years ago was saying the same about the US and Western countries, now look how far these countries have come in terms of celebs being LGBTQ, such a drastic fast change. She didn't have to do no dramatic coming out and no one made it a big deal or nothing, she casually mentioned it and moved on

Idk how you made the jump to idols getting outed from op wanting receipts but okay. Honestly there is hardly anything in the media that's not controlled. There's a reason why no idol has been outed yet and that's simply because the korean media and agencies dont let that info get out to the public. If and when an idol comes out in the media even if it's not on the idol's terms, it'll be ground breaking and very much needed for Korea to evolve. Will it be hard for the idol? Yes, but this is how change starts...takes one brave soul. Plus there are idols that have pretty much told the world that they swing the other way too: sana, Wendy, somi, taeyeon, moonbyul? (Idk much about her tbh). And I'm sure there's more that I'm missing or aren't aware of.

Even when Ellen came out at the top of her career, it was groundbreaking sure but it also temporarily damaged her career and led to depression and declining mental health. People often wrongly attribute the evolution of Hollywood solely to her coming out but in reality it was her show "The Ellen Show" that did it.
