Both Danielle and Hanni are actuallyvery competent singers (especially for Hybe standards) who have proven themselves outside their “easy to sing songs”, furthermore Hanni literally has one of the best natural vocal colors in kpop rn.
Literally go watch their covers, their livestreams where they sing a lot, their lollapalooza set, etc. And you’ll see they’re good.
-Hyeins vocals are nowhere near forgettable either (especially for a 16yo). She got industry veterans like IU wanting to colab with her specifically and has been extensively praised by professionals.
-The only two that are indeed mediocre are Minji and Haerin and even then they can hold a note and arent tone deaf like half of Lesserafim.

If you don't realize IU has an actual deal with Hybe ... it was never about interest, it was about using them to get more young interest and it was successful into it. IU IS SMART. Always was.

Nj are barely decent enough in terms of vocals with Danielle. But that's it. Any dangerous song with more effort needed and they will follow the same path as LSF. They are walking on thin ice.

Mostly because before they went for pop vocal songs to get a more western audience, they were more used to use songs with a lot of rap in it and a reduced presence of high notes. That changed in 2019 and this is what happened.

Looking at the explanations on your list, most of the groups listed look subpar except for a some exceptions. So it's pretty much the sentiment I shared in my first post. The majority of the groups are lacking with some exceptions. Like I said, if kpop is going to label them as all-rounders then they need to do the part. Subpar isn't an all rounder. Either give the shit singers no lines and call them dancers only (let them shine in that aspect) or get ready for people to call them out for nothing being able to hit basic notes or choreo.

da RV has 3. No matter how weak of a vocalist Joy is, she's miles better than the 3 in Lsf. That's the good thing about SM, JYP, YG, Starship, Cube, etc. They know they have non-singers but they made sure they won't have that much line, and if they do it's either rap (Irene, Lisa) or something that idol can handle.

Hybe is an idiot. Everyone should see most of Lsf's variety shows, they just focus on 'performance' which means dancing. They practice hard as if it'll make or break their career, forgetting about the singing part. Lsf, Jimin, Illit, even NJ gets dragged but their fans are smart in staying lowkey about this. It's karma, it won't show in their fiscal but I hope they get dragged so much they'll be forced to practice vocal lessons.

da not only that but it's clear from the Wrong Number performance earlier this year that when Irene said she was taking vocal lessons she really was, she improved quite a bit.

Sejeong said this before when she was a judge for an idol survival show. Skills aren't important for an idol girl group. However, it's important that a lack of skills isn't exposed or revealed especially on stage.

Basically, you don't have to be an amazing singer or dancer but at the very least you need to have some rhythm and not be tone deaf so you don't embarrass the rest of the team.

That LSF controversy hit the public news

This is the worst 'skills' controversy yet, even the past live singing issue (WY&L33seo, Kara, old gen live singing, etc) were never this bad.

The problem is they'll perform again next week and no matter how much they practice, they won't ever satisfy listeners because almost all of them really struggles to perform live. Guaranteed someone will splice and cut again any mishap next week and I can't even blame them, when Lsf is bad, they're that bad.

Either give the shit singers no lines and call them dancers only (let them shine in that aspect) or get ready for people to call them out for nothing being able to hit basic notes or choreo.
Also, I'm too young to be a boomer lol. I just got into kpop through 2nd gen artists while it was the introduction to 4th gen.
They're subpar just like most of 3rd gen groups. But imo 4th gen is way more entertaining live but won't be debating that. 4th gen has its load of talents just like 3rd gen.

Da i agree with you. The thing is 3th gen do have a good vocalist in group. Lsf have none. When you perform live, shit happened. The most bizzare thing in kpop is btees is popular for being a liar. J!min can't sing live but got huge money from stupid kpoppers. I can't believe it. Not asking for much, just decent singing and dancing. Fans deserve at least this from idols.
