I don't think it's a persona. She doesn't just zone out in a funny way she legitimately clocks out completely and sometimes has to snap herself out of it. She even gets embarrassed about it and brought up not liking that it happens. You can't stay like that without blinking for as long as she does voluntarily. I think she genuinely likes aliens because she has always had weird hyper fixations since day one, cap America merch, rainbows, crocs, animal prints, kiwis, hats, cookie run etc. The only hyper fixation she hasn't talked about is the rainbows. That's not an idol persona.
Same with Minji, I don't think the food is an idol persona, back in the day the girls were roasting her for eating awful food combinations just because those were what she found in the fridge just so the food won't go to waste. She was also destroying the food during the mukbang on weekly idol.

Clearly this is just my read on her and I am no one to give a full picture of who she or any other member is really like. I find them all so fascinating to just watch and try to figure out as people.

For me personally Siyeon comes across as a very different person in different settings and around different people. Obviously everyone behaves differently with different people but with her it's very pronounced (I've heard it's a libra thing but idk I don't know much about star signs lol). She seems to mimic the energy of the people around her being very loud and boisterous with JiBo and very calm and chilled out with 2yoodong and very level with Gahyeon. Different fans tend to describe her differently depending on which dynamic they are more exposed to. She is also weirdly private in that we know the most about her out of all the members but nothing of any real substance (like we have technically known she had bad organs because she joked about them multiple times, we just didn't know she was being serious). It's only in her solo late night vlives that we used to get something close to her "authentic" personality when it is not being influenced by people around her and there she seems to be very quite and contemplative. A lot of things that she has said in those vlives and how she perceives little things come across as someone who is very introspective and wise but she tends to keep most of her thoughts to herself unless directly asked to comment on things even in interviews. That's what I mean by complex inner world that she doesn't seem all that willing to share.

Spoilering cause I usually don't like speaking about Yoohyeon's hypnosis episode in DC mind but I was watching it again today and I noticed all the members reactions, particularly Siyeon's. Girl was stunned but compared to other members who started outright crying, if a new fan sees the video then they'll probably think Siyeon wasn't as affected as others. Siyeon definitely is someone who keeps a lot to herself. She may not show everything but she has a whole world in her mind that she doesn't share

That taste of culture episode, when she was eating the meal with lamb in it you immediately see her face change from thoughtful to distaste on being told what it is but when asked to rate the food she still gives it a 9 with an awkward smile. This is just a small thing but with her it's the little things. The way her face cycled through several emotions when Stacy asked them about a memorable advice they were given (when she first talked about her dance instructor who told her to change careers and even her own members didn't know) was another more telling moment. What is notable is that with Gahyeon and Dami their thoughtfulness is obvious. Once you get to know them a little bit more you can tell that Dami is very introspective and Gahyeon is very wise or that Suyoo are very self critical etc but with Siyeon it took me YEARS of following the group to realize just how complicated I find the way she is. There is a running joke amongst her stand on twt that she is living her first life cause of how enamoured she is by silly things. I think in general it's really easy to write her off as no thoughts head empty but she just generally feels like someone I would find very hard to write a POV for.

It's funny you mention this because all the points you brought up are the exact reasons why I was drawn to Siyeon. To me Siyeon is someone who's a master at giving the illusion that makes you think you know a lot about her to the point you can think you're her best buddy, but you don't. She's very specific about how much of herself she's showing to someone and only the very selected few, like the members for example, are allowed to see it all but even then there are layers. This is also the reason why she has a small social circle. People like her tend to have such a vast inner world that they can find it difficult to meet someone who *clicks* but when they do it's usually for life

Caps highlight the cheekbones and pull attention towards the jawline. Makes the face look more masculine. It really works with Gahyeon and Sua's features in particular because their nose and chin are more pronounced. There is a reason caps make women look this good.

Not to add to the troll's talking points but rather making a comment in general because of the weird toxicity here. There is an obvious Siyeon lean in the fandom when it comes to who is wlw. Even people who insist on refusing to assume or speculate on idol sexualities tend to side eye her the most despite others doing more LGBT oriented fanservice (mvs, special clips, concert covers, concert shippy stuff). And I'm guessing it's because she has very obvious tells. The more I get to know the girls the more I genuinely don't see her ever clearly coming out or being deliberately obvious like putting out explicitly queer coded videos. She has always been more subdued of the group and it reflects in majority of her personal content. I remember someone say that she seems to have a very complex inner world and refuses to share the depth of it and I agree. This is a similar sentiment I have for Handong and Gahyeon as well. And being extremely private and reserved myself it would be really hypocritical of me to want someone to constantly drop loud hints and draw attention to themselves for being queer unless they want to do so themselves. Siyeon's response to getting caught on camera staring down Sua's shirt or when that straight line happened was to either pretend it didn't happen or act like she forgot the lyrics instead of bringing attention to it like it was some big gay joke like the others tend to do. It's clear she doesn't have any intentions of coming out as anything and I think it's extremely disrespectful to pass judgement on what content she puts out or what personality she had just because she isn't being as clear and deliberately obvious as the more outspoken members.

Long response so in spoilers.

I think it's harder for me to gauge people with large cross generational social circles because obviously the bigger the group the higher the number of queer people in it. The queer friends only really make me sure that the person in question is very open minded and a solid ally which we have known about DC since the beginning. Gahyeon Sua and Dami all have large friend groups across age ranges and exchange contact info with everyone they meet even once. The lesbian couple is just one of the many people Dami met once, exchanged contact info with and hung out with, Sua even hangs out with mutual friends of mutual friends, Gahyeon will exchange contact with anyone she meets and hits it off with. The members who are more selective like Handong or find it harder to make friends like Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Jiu all have sus heavily speculated friends in their smaller and more curated friend group as well. Handong's friend used to be speculated on in the past, Siyeon is friends with 3unbi who has a massive queer friend group as well as gay rumors, and Siyeon is close to Ju3un who has been speculated with Yv3s, Yoohyeon is in the 97 gc with Yv3s along with Dami, Jiu is finally friends with S3ola. All these can also be written off as them all being close by virtue of just being same age friends or chingus because most Koreans do have this urge to all stick with same age friends.
So for me, friend groups are only really a sign of being open minded. Korean women in particular have mostly been very open minded and accepting of LGBT in general and we know S3ra got booted from the DC friend list over homophobic opinions. Generally speaking all I know is that the DC girls will always have the backs of the LGBT community, whether it is because some of them are fam or if it is because they are genuinely good people is ultimately irrelevant in the long run to me.

As for in general who I find sus in the group it's the usual suspects gahsingbin. I think Gahyeon has the vibe and has said a couple of sus things, Dami pings me but there is nothing really concrete there outside of a couple of remarks here and there by other members. It could be simply her knowing her audience and wanting to genuinely cater to us and the few things I would consider a sure sign are actually pretty vague (the dessert cover is too vague and metaphorical that it leaves enough room for either interpretation, the flag banner thing is pretty vague especially since it doesn't have all the colors and has an extra color and I haven't seen any discreet banner that messes up the colors like that), I still think she is extremely likely to be wlw. Siyeon is the one I am usually more sure about given that a lot of the things that make me sus her out are things that are not fanservice and she has said and done a lot of things over the years that take jumping through hoops to justify as coincidences or fanservice (unless she is an Oscar worthy actress with a doctorate in how sapphics act in everyday life). Unfortunately, I think the degree of trolling had started making me second guess if I am just a dumb sapphic reading too much into Siyeon's behaviour and words. Which is actually quite funny cause she (and Gahyeon) used to be sus to me originally since she reminded me of me.
Yoohyeon is the only one who is out and her queer friend group that we know of is pretty much limited to possibly her own members and the people that might be in her gc alongside Yv3s.

Being an out queer idol in SK comes with consequences. No openly queer idol is doing well, it's only idols that are heavily speculated or are open secrets who are doing somewhat well. The moment you come out suddenly your sales start suffering (eg. several queer idols who have come out explicitly and are still active) unless you are an indie or non kpop artist your best bet is to stay closeted whether glass or concrete. We also don't know if she is out to her family or how it could impact her niece if she is loud about it. And yes, I do 100% believe she is wlw.

Caps highlight the cheekbones and pull attention towards the jawline. Makes the face look more masculine. It really works with Gahyeon and Sua's features in particular because their nose and chin are more pronounced. There is a reason caps make women look this good.

Not to add to the troll's talking points but rather making a comment in general because of the weird toxicity here. There is an obvious Siyeon lean in the fandom when it comes to who is wlw. Even people who insist on refusing to assume or speculate on idol sexualities tend to side eye her the most despite others doing more LGBT oriented fanservice (mvs, special clips, concert covers, concert shippy stuff). And I'm guessing it's because she has very obvious tells. The more I get to know the girls the more I genuinely don't see her ever clearly coming out or being deliberately obvious like putting out explicitly queer coded videos. She has always been more subdued of the group and it reflects in majority of her personal content. I remember someone say that she seems to have a very complex inner world and refuses to share the depth of it and I agree. This is a similar sentiment I have for Handong and Gahyeon as well. And being extremely private and reserved myself it would be really hypocritical of me to want someone to constantly drop loud hints and draw attention to themselves for being queer unless they want to do so themselves. Siyeon's response to getting caught on camera staring down Sua's shirt or when that straight line happened was to either pretend it didn't happen or act like she forgot the lyrics instead of bringing attention to it like it was some big gay joke like the others tend to do. It's clear she doesn't have any intentions of coming out as anything and I think it's extremely disrespectful to pass judgement on what content she puts out or what personality she had just because she isn't being as clear and deliberately obvious as the more outspoken members.

Anytime a DC fan account on YouTube starts posting non shippy videos showcasing the girl's chemistry the channel just disappears after a while and it's getting annoying. Call it a fucking unpopular opinion and maybe I've been spoiled by 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen idols all debuting vocalists that were at least competent and could hold a note with some excellent main vocals and barely 1 or 2 genuinely weak vocalists per group. But the current state of vocals in kpop is horrible. Stans insist that "they're rookies" and use that as an excuse. Why the fuck are they even being debuted if they can barely even hold a note??? Debuting younger and younger idols with barely any vocal training is actually insane. What are the fandoms even built on? Cause it's clearly not based on any kind of vocal talent but these 14 year olds are debuting with fully formed fandoms who will defend their painful attempts to hit the most mediocre notes while standing still. I feel like it's endometriosis, hence why she's a bit secretive about it since it concerns the reproductive system. I have it, and it definitely effects organs as it spreads and can cause weight gain or loss. It varies from person to person, and it just in general sucks. It's very painful.

That makes sense. Doctors don't take it very seriously, at least here in the US. My wife had it really bad for years before she moved in and I finally helped her find a doctor that helped her. Surgery fixed it immediately. I wish everyone could have experiences that positive, but it's just not a reality for female reproductive health. I have my own horror story unrelated to endometriosis, but that's getting quite off topic.

I hope she takes care of herself and has a doctor who is actively trying to help her through it.
