It's honestly w/e. Fanservice has been around since the beginning of time and I can enjoy SM's (girl groups') fanservice since it's all about the good vibes/closeness between members at the end of the day. It's not the outright cringe, raunchy, and gay4pay fanservice that a lot of guy groups or guy/girl groups in other countries do.
WinRina may be straight but enjoy skinship+throwing flirty lines at each other like normal friends do irl (yes, friends can jokingly flirt with each other). Or they might be bi and have been attracted to each other at one point during the long ass time they've known each other and thus we get glimpses of tension here and there
It's fine to believe in whichever scenario while acknowledging that some of the things we get to see from them are fanservice because these interactions all fall under bonding and everyone likes seeing that. And I don't think fanservice is problematic when members are actually close with each other. I think certain fans *make* it a problem when it's clear that they only like a certain idol because they want them to be 100% gay.
Like there's the group's music, the visuals, the performances, variety skills, and even just basic personality, but certain people only want to see, breathe, hear, and think through their hormones
WinRina isn't full-on gaybait to me because I think that term and the outrage that comes with it is cringe/exaggerated most of the time, and it's possible that they might just like being super touchy and interact with each other in similar degrees off-camera. If people have the understanding that it's a part of the culture and everything has a level of some fanservice if it's not kept private, then it shouldn't bother them so much. Even real couples, both famous and non-famous, do "fanservice" for the people that watch them.
I'd say gaybaiting in anime/manga (not subtext because there's a lot of depth there) is way more "real" but that's a different topic.
If you read my first post I said that winrina seems be touchy touchy kind of friends but some of it had to be fanservice because it was really over the top sometimes. You basically just said the same in an essay form
No you didn't fucking say that, you said Winrina is a FANSERVICE SHIP that FANSERVICE FLIRTS and your arguments are that karina doing the most cute and light shit to winter has to be to get fans attention (fanservice). All the interactions they have to you is just for the fans, karina calling winter cute and touching her hand on stage is just to service fans. Their entire friendship is borderline fan service to you and used as gaybait even if such interactions are observed between other members too.
You're ridiculous, insulting and pretentious while having ridiculous opinions.
Don't get mad at me because you're stupid and can't read. This was my first post idiot
Same. I also want to see how she acts around winter, I get that they are probably naturally just touchy friends but some of it had to be fanservice, they were literally on eachother 24/7... And Karina was always flirting with her
"karina always flirting with her" I can read very well, nobody cares about the bold part if it contracticts itself one sentence after. And it's that sentence that made me react, also

Yeah no..sorry
Karina was clearly flirting, fanservice flirting. Saying how the seat she'll take when in a classroom will be next to winter. Saying winter is cute whenever she breathes, her literally saying she's flirting with winter when she playfully touches her during drama performances. It might not be REAL flirting but it was definitely
fan service flirting so I don't know what to tell you, you must be dense to think Karina wasn't flirting with her
Yeah pretty dense and it's funny how they're all flirting between each other, all the members gaybaiting and fanserving while being the most boring about it in kpop (their so called fan service limiting itself to hugs, hand touching and saying another member is cute).... But yeah
If you read it properly I said their touchiness is for the most part natural, but Karina's flirting is fanservice. There's no need to flirt with your friend infront of camera while you fully well know you're being shipped with her, it's definitely fanservice whether or not she does it off cam too and it's normal for them, she knows the fans will go crazy when she flirts with winter so either way it's fanservice since she's doing it to hype the fans up.
